[Completed] [Q] Confused. Touchwiz problems boot loop etc - XDA Assist

Hi Urm ill start with mentioning that i am verryyyyyyy new and inexperienced with all this rooting and what not. Im a very snobby 16 year old who likes to **** with things i dont undetstand.(dont we all though lmao)
So ill start wid a full explanation on what happened and then you can tell me what ive done cause i have legit no clue. Oh and please dont mind if i posted on the wrong thread i am extemely new to the forums sort of gig (this is actually my first account lol) i heard from a friend about this site and well here i am.
So herer goes'
A few months ago i searched for the easiest method to root my phone as i read thay rootimg lets you customize your phone as much as ya want. I downloaded kingo root which does it for you.
Ive a samsung galaxy s2 plus right.
After i rooted the customizations bit hard for me but i managed t download lucky patcher, and through it i downloaded the modded play store(no idea what it did back then) i did alot of inapp exploiting for most paid apps. anyways
a few days ago i came across xposed ajd downloaded random modules like snapreps etc (i tool a giant leap of faith when i read about the soft mod bit). Anyways then when thats done i downloaded a few games(tday actually). i downloaded miniclips' 8ball ppol and i decided t sign in using Google +, it got an error saying it needs t update g+ i mistakenly pressed it. AND BANG MY PHONE SHUT DOWN, and it started booting t the samsung logo and then back, was this the way infamous softbrick, brick or a bootloop. Now im scared t even download an app from playstore, or even use google+ since in afraid itll do thay again.
-It came back t normal in a few minutes( i had t do the softreset(with the buttons, although pressing the keys didnt open anything, just thw samaung logo…and then i tool out the battery and restarted it a few times yet it stillt work. later it tried it onemore time and it turned on. qhat should i do? what actually happened? i have no idea and im scared t death cause i csnt change this phone for a few months and i need this for my gces( use it for eBooks sometimes) plwase help.
Again i donot jnow if this is the right threat im very new to this.
Thankyou in advance

Can you please elaborate what this means
So now that this device is official (Vitality), any chance to get some "root love"?
Well since metropcs and this phone is the same, most likely the root metro has will root it.
You can find it here. http://androidforums.com/admire-all...e-sch-r720-windows-mac-linux-9-12-2011-a.html
Tried that

Rooting Huh?
Well after spending a second day trying to solve my problem I had superuser on my phone well someone elses phone, but something went wrong so I am throwing in the towel before I have to by someone a phone because this is how I got myself into this I tried to help someone get more business turns out the guy is a loser so I am stuck with having to give someone some free technical features, but rooting wont be one of them, I am going to figure some other ways to spice the phone of for them I just really don't have the time nor the patience with all the reading and materials and the drivers that won't run on my system some of this is a headache for people who are not that good with this sort of machinery.
And I have found that there are so many who say there good but when it comes down to it, I have had two bad experiences this is why I was trying to show some people some new ways to have there phones done, but I realize a few things I am not helping people out no more fu*k'em I got my phone done and complete and I am tired of helping others out and just about everyone who I went to meet up with in Philadelphia and this other guy who answers and gets back to you when he's ready this phone thing is a little much, like you guys say if you don't have the experience then leave it alone.
Because I have to return this phone to someone tomorrow but I thought I was bringing in some business for people but I know now some people just want to stay living at home with mother. So good luck watching Jerry all your life. Anyone
who has someone who can refer me to a real flasher or tech person no more people in the state of Pennsylvania all of them have been crooks. Sorry S. Bonner but you are hitting the #2 on the list. But anyway I need to get in touch with someone who will get paid as long as the job is done 100% and I am talking remote flashing nothing more and rooting. Remember if you live in the State of Pennsylvania don't bother me I want people who want to work.

FIRST POST EVER.. Lost my root from busybox, some advice please.

Hello folks, I sent this as a "PM" to one of the moderators and figured i might as well post it on the thread in hope that someone else could assist me..... ive researched a fix for 3 hours now n am now in a NO ROOT state..... anyways, heres my message.
" apologize if this message is short n to the point. I just wrote this long letter to you via phone and right before i was about to send all the text disappeared... Though im a new "official" member, ive been learning new things everyday through this site and wanted to thank you for hard work in this world of cellphone technology.
Listened to my brother(which i now regret) and I downloaded "busybox installer" from play store
Installed applets
Fixed permissions.
Noticed phone was slower.
Noticed i couldnt install chainfire 3d.
So i decided i didnt want busybox anylonger..
I think thos is where i went wrong and deleted the app through Settings> applications> busybox installer and then "cleared data" and uninstalled.
After that i lost root. Researched for about 3 hours and came across that some symlink applets did something n it took root away....
I saw a thread that you told someone to just reflash there ROM? I believe it was for the nexus??
Last week, after the root i made a nandroid backup with CWM
I hoping you could possibly shed some light on the subject on how ro get my root back without freezing bootloader or jackin somethin up, pleeeeease..
Thank you
ROOTED PHONE with "GS3DebugFS Root without using Odin"
----ALSO---- Just noticed this as well, took a screen shot and will upload.
When i deleted busybox, i didnt delete the .xbin applets busybox created on initial installation... ive been reading around that the fix for a bad busybox would be to wipe dalvik/cache in Su and then clear data in cwm n reflash my rom? What if i just go strait into a hardboot and restore a nandroid......
I have a nandroid backup, but its through ROM manager which Requires root and my phone says im not rooted.... but i still have the SU app??? I know im still rooted, im just not sure which files to wipe or how to restore properly... ive been reading that if a nandroid was made through Rom manager, then it has to be restored through that app or else the volume up+home+power method will send the phone into a boot loop or get stuck at the samsung logo.... i cant risk that gamble because this phone is my source of interweb at the moment and ill be straight doggy-styled if i get my phone boot looped...
Lets give a hand to the moderators who promptly answer their private messages.....not. i know this is a community and by no means do i consider this a support site, but c'mon.... its sunday night at 2:30 in the morning..... Really, i know moderators are the "rule enforcers", but its like me being back in the third grade scurrying through the hallways lookin for a bathroom and then i see a hall monitor... so i run up to this hall monitor and very kindly ask him if he could point me in the direction of the bathroom, n all he does is just look at your thread over 100 times and not give a single reply back.... buncha bologna sandwiches

I don't think I really like your comparison but anyway I saw this thread, your first post, got a chuckle out of it.
You were right to post it on the forum because 1 moderator may not have a clue how to help you. Then your stuck waiting longer for other people to respond.
But I think I can help you! Try posting this in the development forum below. There are a lot more people with development experience and rooting plus busy box is development.

Finally fixed busybox lose root issue
Well..... the problem was that i lost my root from a tainted busybox app.....
So i sat here and pondered how could i fix this Su issue........ duhh, just download SuperSu from the play market and enable it as SuperUser..... so i downloaded it, enabled it, went to Rom Manager n opened it n it asked me if i wanted to grant it permission. Did so and now i can properly restore my nandroid through rom manager..... Hey Thanks guys for the help!! I mean, once we all put our heads together and worked hard together as a team on this one it kinda makes me wonder how great of a team we are... Probably better maybe a little bit worse but most definitely just as great as the '92 Dream Team.... ..
Yeah we share put our heads together.

PetRiLJoe---- please disregard my last post, i just saw your post when i finished posting mine. Thank you for your response, n i apologize for my sarcasm ... i have been frustrated for awhie with this while tilting back a few beers. Got a lil liquid courage in me thats all.... but to be honest i think this busybox bug which i guess is now rare, must directly effect the Su app which essentially shouldnt have been tweaked at all since these rooting codes are so precise. I should have caught that before i decided to hit install n get all busyboxed.
This is honestly the best forum in the world. So much respect for the moderators/developers/testers who do all the dirty work for me so i can go on here and rant like i know what im talking about. Everything ive learned is from here, so thank you to all you hard workers for allowing me to root my phone so i can sniff my girlfriends twitter.God Bless.

lol no problem. Drinking and posting is not against the rules. And yeah I agree with you partly on these forums. This forum has some of the best people. The people make up the forums.
So got your phone fixed or no?

The moderators are usually chosen from groups such as Recognized Contributor....meaning we are good at helping people BUT we do not spend all our time reading every post. There are 60 moderators for 4 million users. I got your PM this morning but it was missing the link to the thread. But I am glad to see one of the great users on XDA helped you figure it out. Never delete without backing up.
Cheers
Kenny

Just to add slot of ppl that are new to rooting use suoerSU and change to superuser , or vice versa. This has been shown to break root if under the right user error . Just a thought. Ppl should be careful switching between the two and how to properly install busybox .

Yes, I was able to fix the "lost root" issue with this method, no problem. I made sure I transferred over my media to my ext sd before I restored, was able to retrieve them w/ no issue.
DirtyDroidX-(sry, havent figured out how to use the quote feature yet) - I agree, but somehow SuperSu was able to save me this to give me permission to nand restore via RM. Thank you for your advice, I will be more careful drinking and deleting in the future.
Thank you, Kenny. I apologize about the missing link, I thought I attatched but obviously I didnt. My bad for ranting last night!!

[Q] Hard Bricked Samsung Galaxy Note i717 ATT

Hi everyone,
I would like to clear out some points before posting my issue.
1-I have been reading hard brick threads on this device in this forum for 3 days, I am posting my question because I want to get clear answers on what my options are at this point. I have not seen not even 1 solution via Jig, which seems to be the easiest method.
2- The reason I bricked my phone is [most likely] I flashed a kernel that was intended for the N7000 model, although this might not make sense to some of you , for the sake of getting proper help, please hold back on comments that point out how much of a non skilled fan I am and how could I have got caught on such an obvious mistake. Comments like the ones I am describing just wont help so please you might as well keep them to yourselves.
3- Please do not take me as a pedantic person, I just happened to have read enough answers to know that there are highly skilled people who want to help others while some others just love to spend their free time spamming threads. I certainly do not have enough knowledge and skills to perform the jtag method since I cant even solder.
I was trying the JellyBeer rom and I flashed their kernel on TeamWin Recovery, what I do not understand is why did it brick, because I actually realized my mistake soon enough and I performed a restore to my previous rom/kernel, to my understanding, this brick should not have happened in the first place. But when I went ahead and rebooted the phone, it just turned off in the middle of rebooting never to turn on again. Its dead, it wouldnt even charge nor go into download mode or recovery, no vibration no nothing...
Returning the phone to the store is not an option for me as I brought this phone from the states to my country (Dominican Republic ) and is out of warranty.
To me it almost means that I dont have no choice but to keep using my sisters pink motorola that btw is like 10 yrs old until I can wait till some day to have that kind of money again and get a new one. I am leaving the final answer to the experts in this forum.
..If you actually read the whole thing I must thank you, because I know its waaay to long. Counting on you guys.

Hello, a week ago I was trying to restore my phone back to the stock rom, it is a Samsung Galaxy i727, and now is dead or HardBrick, I´m from Dominican Republic, searching in the internet I found a local Mobile Repair Center offering the Jtag service in just 24 hour my phone is back, their name is ALUMUN, if you are in Dominican Republic they are the best, you can find them in google as ALUMUN
I agree with you, we need help not lip service. I too bricked my phone, the site I got my roms added the galaxy 2 rom to the site not thinking it would be a bad thing to add it since they added it to the group of roms I could download for my phone, well that was the wrong thing to do!! I don't live in the Dominican Republic so I need to fix this myself.....HELP PLEASE!! Thanks guys

Question about FRP Lock.

Hi boys,
I have searched thru XDA, tried all the methods, and I still can't get my sm-G925P (sprint) out of the lock because of rooting.
I know how it happened, Im not panicked or in need of an answer right now etc.
I really like this whole site and have rooted all 4 of my tablets and and both my phones by carefully reading, looking around here and patiently thread digging when I got into trouble.. And when I go pick up a new galaxy edge 7 , sometime in the next day or two, I will root it too, lol.
Anyway, my question is, do you think the creators of these frp locks have secret solution to remove? You know, like a button combination or something? Seems possible, and I don't have a date tonight, so I thought I would ask.

Which files / tutorial will I need

First off, I got to say I love yu XDA guys...I've never had any issue rooting something with a tutorial from here.
Problem is, I've read so many links on this phone, now I'm confused....and can't seem to get back to what I read. I just left Verizon in favor of Metro and got this phone for FREE during a promotional period about two weeks ago....so I really don't want to do anything stupid and brick it.
It's the 700T1 variant and the build is MMB29K.J700T1UVU2APK6 if that will help. If someone would just point this total noob to the right tutorial for this I'd appreciate it. It doessn't have a gyrosope sensor and I've read there are ways to trick it in to thinking it does, but of course you have to have root - and my kid and I want to play Pokemon Go so that we can actually see the little guys on our street, in our park, etc. Thanks!
Also, does anybody know if the "quick roots" work (Kingo Root, etc). What have / did you have success with?
