Google Search history not displaying - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've just noticed that the Google search bar on my home screen no longer displays my previous searches. I cannot see anything in the settings of the Google app that have changed.
Anyone know what I can do to get them back?
Running stock 5.1, Google Now Launcher, rooted & with Xposed.

Can a mod close or delete this thread. It's suddenly started working again

[Q] what happened to the turn by turn navigation app?

anyone know what the name of the turn by turn navigation app is on the stock tf101?
Does anyone know who makes it? Is it a google app or an asus app? was it discontinued?
and finally does anyone know of the apk is avalable for donload somewhere?
tia
The navigation app was a part of Maps. When Maps updated to version 7, the nav icon disappeared. You can now just open the Maps app and tap the curved arrow on the right of the search box to get turn by turn directions.
If you really want it back you can uninstall updates to the Maps app and disable automatic updating and you can still have your nav icon.
Turn by turn is still there, it's just been merged into the Google Maps app. It's a huge improvement this way. Previously, Maps and Navigation were two separate apps, and the transitions between them were jarring (going from maps search to nav was ok, but clicking back out of nav dumped you to the homescreen, losing your search). They each had their own app cache, so you'd be waiting for the maps to load twice, etc... Seriously, the flow of the new Maps app is way better now. I've been using it daily.

GoogleNow gone!

nvm, i am stupid
You should have an app in your App Drawer already called "Google". Just run that, the option to turn Google Now back on should be in there. Keep in mind that Google Now does not appear as a separate app, it's a part of Google Search and the launcher. It can only be turned off, not uninstalled.

Behaviour of swipe to search gesture changed after google app update!

After the google app got updated the behaviour of the swipe-to-search gesture apparently changed. Before the update you just swiped up from the homebutton on the homescreen and the cursor was placed in the google search bar. The keyboard appeared and you were immediately able to start typing.
Now after the update a new blank windows is opening when you swipe up that looks a little like google now. It showes the google search bar in the middle of the screen and you have to click it to place the cursor in the search bar that moves up to the screen after you clicked it. And then you're finally able to type.
Does anyone know a way to change that behaviour back to how it once was and is there a way to let the google developers know, that it sucks the way it is?
And is anybody sharing my anger about that stupid change of a perfectly working app?

Google Keep Widget on Lockscreen not working

Hi,
System Information:
Samsung S3
CyanogenMod 11 (Android 4.4.4)
Stock Lockscreen
so i would like to use the google keep widget on my lockscreen but unfortunatly it's not working. the widget on my launcher is working so i know that the widget itself works.
when i press the "new note" button on the lockscreen widget nothing happens. i can see that a press has occured since the button flashes grey for a bit. then when i unlock my phone all i see is a white screen filling my entire phone. after a while a message appears that keep has been closed.
when i uninstall the app, use sd maid pro, restart my phone, install the app again, the widget on the lockscreen works only one time (though that time there was a help animation about new functions).
any ideas what i could do? is there a logging app that only logs a specific app?

Weather Notifications from Google Now have stopped

Google Now weather notifications have stopped about a week ago on both my Nexus 5 and Nexus 10. I used to have a small cloud in the left side of the Status Bar and a Google Now weather card on my lock screen. There's nothing now. The weather card is there when I swipe left on the home screen and it is updating correctly. I re-answered the questions in Google Now about interest in weather updates for my location and continuing to get weather updates but it hasn't helped. Any ideas what is wrong?
I had to clear Google Search Data in Settings-Apps-Google App-Storage-Manage Space. I also deleted Card Preferences in Google Now-Settings-Your Feed. Apparently, all the changes in the Google App over the last three years since I first set it up cause the notifications to no longer work.
