Um are you retarded? In all seriousness. No means to offend. Did you do your research? Sprint phones are not GSM phones. GSM phones = phones that use sim cards. sprint phones are CDMA. so you can't use it on t-mobile. You may be able to use it on verizon.

You must be a little more calm, it´s is first post...
But you are right in one thing, we all must use the search before opening a ****ing new thread.

I'm sorry if I sounded harsh. But I'd think that most people would know this without first buying a $600 phone and having it become useless. Even my little 8yr old brother knows about CDMA vs GSM.
Or at least ask the question before you shell out the money for something that you can't possibly do... unless he's rich?

Unlocking UK G1 (newbie)

Hi all,
Im due to get a G1 from a friend of mine and Im slightly confused/overwhelmed by the threads here on how to unlock the phone..
What is the best way to unlock the phone? Im assuming I cant call 611 as Im in the UK and the phone is a UK phone, or am I wrong?
Is the best approach to go to http://www.unlock-tmobileg1.com ?? or is there a software way of doing it?
I know this is almost certainly posted here, but Im confused/blinded by all the other entries..
Thanks,
Angelo
i'm not too sure about who to call, but apparently t-mobile offer to unlock it for £15 which is better than the £17 offered by that site (i'd much prefer to trust t-mobile too )
you're best bet is to ring up t-mobile and speak to them about it. make up some **** about leaving the country or something, it will probably work
Many thanks
Many thanks, appreciate the clarity
you should be able to tell them you are going over seas and want to put a pre-paid sim in when you get there and for that you require the phone to be unlocked

Going overseas

Alright heres the issue, i want to be able to use my Verizon TP2 in Spain, Italy, and Monaco. Can someone give me a nice and easy guide to unlock my sim port, i know there are things on how to do it, but id like not to post questions on a dead thread. Uhh soo yea what im planning to do is to get some prepaid cards and switch to gsm while im overseas. Thanks to all who care to answer and help a man out.
Call Verizon. talk to global services. Tell them you want to unlock for a foreign sim. They will provide unlock code and walk you through steps.
If you've been a VZW customer for awhile, they'll give you the unlock code on request (as stated).
If now, the SIM unlocker at HTC-unlocks will do what you want for about $15 USD.

i did it the other day, you have to be very specific about what you say to them: i tryed 3 times *****in with different ppl untill i found what exactly i needed to say to get them to do it. "i need my SIM unlocked becasue im going to be taking a trip out of the country and would like to use a pre pay SIM while im there to avoid paying World Phone fees". worked for me . they handed over the codes no questions asked. BUT if you just ask them to unlock it, they will wanna know where you are going blah blah blah excuses and such and they'll tell you that you have to sign up for world charges to be eligeable for an unlock. BS

[Q] Using my phone internationally

I am leaving for Ireland on Sunday and want to use my G2 phone over there. I have rooted the phone successfully and don't know what the next step is. Do I just obtain a new SIM card from a cell phone store in Ireland? Do I create an account with them for the time im over there and my phone works like a local phone? This is my first time with international travel. Thanks in advance for helping a noob.

Need Help !!! CDMA Flashing (From Cricket to Verizon)

I really needs some help. Didn't think it would be so hard. My girlfriend put her phone on Cricket to pay less. Now she wants to come back to verizon because her service was terrible. I've been looking at CDMA flashing tools but I am clueless when it comes to how to use it.
Anyone with any answers, Thanks in advance.
