[Q] Chewi Vi8 - General Topics

Hi guys. I just ordered the Chewi Vi8 tablet because it is so cheap and the specs seem nice. I have been reading the reviews and everyone seems to enjoy them. I should receive it in about 5-6 days. My plan for this tablet is to install Ubuntu Touch on it. Has anyone here done this? How did it work? Thank you all for looking.

I am looking to purchase a new android phone as my old HTC Dream finally gave out on me x.x
I have been looking Repeatedly at different phones for over a week now, I am still having a hard time picking one out...
The following are the ones I've been looking at, but I still can't decide

So yah....if anyone could PLEASE help me narrow it down, it would be a great help!! Thanks in advance!!
Bump.... anyone?
Are you serious?
These are all Iphone knock offs
lol if thats what you want then you cant go wrong with any they are practically the same.
Seriously bro get a low end android phone than any of these.
There is a Ciphone A9+ version which has 3G support.
I think H2000 is great. BTW I found a H2000 on PickEgg only needs $173.3 with shipping. Seems the same one, check it out: http://www.pickegg.com/wholesale/h2...al-standby-quad-band-black.html?welcome=57903

[Q] Tablet Help!

Hi all XDA'rs,
Im looking to purchase my first android tablet but would like some help from my fellow forum users.
Im looking to spend a max of £150.
I have no definite requirements other than it have reasonable processor and ram(not lag) and be very customisable e.g themes, custom roms etc,
Can anyone point me towards some good deals??
Much appreciated,
Daniel Lowery
Bump! Bump! Bump!
there's really nothing any good under $200.
Cheapest tablets that aren't a POC are the IdeaPad A1 (Lenovo) and the Nook Color. Both are 7", medium-powered, but capable of running flash, ect jsut fine. Nook color does REQUIRE rooting/ROMing to be useful, but its really easy to do, pretty fun actually, and you can get a beautiful cyanogenmod for it. A1 is harder to find, but has dual cameras, GPS, better out-of-the-box functionality.
Expect to pay at least a hundred more for a 10".something like this

Allwinner A10 7 inch question - Internal Storage

I recently bought a 7" tablet from a great chinese site with bulk...here is the device:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCvef9IYX0o
(actually it's the closest thing to it but I have the actual link here)
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/600394/210366870-551855034/7-Android-4-0-5-point-Capacitive-Tablet-PC-1GHz-512MB-4GB-800x480-WIFI-G-Sensor.html
- only difference is mine is 2 gig and comes with ICS 4.03
Getting to the point...It comes pre-rooted and with some nice features for a 7 inch...but I messed around and installed busybox to "xbin" rather than "bin" as instructed...as those of you have have done this know: factory reset.
Now everything comes back up fine but one annoying little problem occurs...it won't let me install anything due to internal memory storage being full!
This is driving me up the wall as no site seems to cover this properly! Any know how techs wanna help this noob figure this out???
Also, is there a GOOD allwinner a10 link you guys have for people like me who love to tinker with not so well known android tablets from China? LOL! Love this place btw...been loyal for years to your forums, even if my name doesn't show it!

A700 Crazy idea?

Hi all this is going to be abit of an odd question but the other day i was window shopping and found the A700 really liked what i saw but then i started to think.
I know that can flash backtrack on to my Galaxy S phone but....(heres the Question)
Can i flash backtrack5 on to a, A700?
If so how?
If not would any Android Tab be able to, if so which one?
Also would any if not the A700 run a Windows OS ?
like the title say's Crazy!! But if any one has any info it would be very greatful.
There's a complete Linux installer on the market, and here on xda(complete Linux installer). It has ubuntu, backtrack plus more. I can verify it works.

Thanks buddy! I have also been looking into both the Galaxy Tab 2 7"/10.1"
any thoughts from any one are still welcome and helpfull.
A 7inch is more portable if you're concerned about that or if you travel a lot. 10.1 gives you all the screen you can handle plus a little extra.
It's really about personal preference.
I was fully into that nexus 7 thing. I was definitely like: I have to buy one!
But then I've got my hands on another 7" tablet in a store and was like: What the heck is this? 7" is sooo small.....
So now I've got the A700 and I'm glad that I've got it
Well i gave up on teh 7" it is abit small so instead i ordered myself the A700 and should be getting here Tuesday (cant wait).
So now come's step 2 of my crazy idea i now have 10.1 32GB Android tab on the way now then .......?
Time to work out how to get backtrack5 running on it and also see if i can get windows 7 maybe ......?
So any ideas or what not maybe a link that might help would be AWESOME!!!
Thanks again :fingers-crossed:
Whoa whoa whoa. Wait. Hold on a sec. Backtrack? THE Backtrack? As in the security tool suite? On the A700?!
I MUST HAVE THIS. I was just about to give using my A700 but if I can use it for my work, I am so there!
Great, there goes my free time for the next week...

Hey, thanks for the review. I've had this for a couple of weeks now & agree with all of your comments. Overall I'm quite impressed with this. I have another Voyo - X6s which performs quite adequately as well, hence my decision to purchase this one. I've rooted it (with iroot), which was quite easy. No real need to however I like to install a few apps on that require root.
For the price & spec's, this is quite a good value purchase
Awesome. It's pretty cheap for the price and not bad either. My review was shorter because I didn't have as much to complain about.
Any way you could please share your laptop drivers with me?

Did you ever get any drivers for the Voyo WinPad A1S. I have had this pad for a while but really never used it. I was going to give it as a gift. I wanted to see if Android update past 4.4 was possible. Also woul like to have Windows 10 on it as well.
Thank you,
Chris
The drivers I found:
