Galaxy S6 - Some Screens More Curved Than Others - Galaxy S6 Accessories

Hi guys! I've been on the this Galaxy S6 forum here at XDA since I got my pre-order in from T-Mobile. I previously had the Galaxy Note 4, and at that time I was on the Galaxy Note 4 forums.
Just like the Galaxy Note 4 the Galaxy S6 comes with a slightly curved screen (reason why tempered glass cannot go edge to edge) which causes problems for tempered glass protectors. I do bet that they're are tons of people here on the same boat as I am (switching from GN4 to GS6). We had the same issue over in that forum. However we had a even bigger issue there that hasn't been discussed here which is the differences in the degree of the slight curve that our screens have. For instance many people here on this forum have been posting tempered glass screens that work for them and yet when another person with the same product as well as the same phone the glass will not adhere at the sides.
Is it possible if we can make a thread here just for tempered glass screen protectors along with the carrier and manufacturing date of the device as well?
P.S I'm sorry if this had some formatting issues or grammatical errors. First time posting something so big here and trying to type this up at work

Note Edge Display - Gorilla Glass or..?

I've searched Google multiple times and I cannot find anything on this.
Is the Galaxy Note Edge's display made from Gorilla Glass, or some plastic substrate?
The reason I am curious is because I am thinking about JUMP'ing to the Edge from my Note 4, but if the display is not actually glass I am concerned about how it would hold up.
Thanks!
Note Egde's display has gorilla glass3 that processed 3D, like a Note 4.

Edge-to-Edge Glass Screen Protectors

I know there are several threads about glass screen protectors and whether or not they have a halo, etc. I'd like to have a single thread for discussion of edge-to-edge glass screen protectors that don't leave that gap between the protector and the edge of the phone (and obviously without a halo). I know that there are a few curved protectors out there and that reviews are trickling in. Please post your experiences and photos here.
Looking for the same.
Would love to hear more about anyone using or having found an edge to edge glass screen protector that works and fits perfectly
You can try the Moshi iVisor.
I had it for the Note 4 and returned it after having it for 2 days. I don't think the S6 one will be any better.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S6 screen and rear protectors that cover edge-to-edge?

Hi guys,
Just got an S6 recently and really don't want to put a case on it, so I thought I'd use screen protectors instead. However, I've yet to come across any that cover the entirety of the front or back glass. Has anyone found any like this that they can recommend? I understand that the glass curves slightly at the edges, which makes it difficult, but I've seen iPhone 6 protectors that specifically say that they curve at the edges, and hoped that someone had done something similar for the S6.
Thanks folks!
I don't use anything but Moshi edge-to-edge tempered glass protectors for my iPhone 6, Note Edge, and now S6. They're a little costly but they're good stuff. In the US, they can be purchased at AT&T corporate stores. As far as the back, I use an inexpensive Skinomi back protector. It gives the slippery phone a lot of grip.

I use Nillikin protectors. They go edge to edge and they are very cheap if you are in the US. I'm currently on my third one because I thought the first one was incorrectly placed and my second I thought it was causing my Incipio OffGrid to not stay closed when I just had a defective case.
I will provide a link later on or you can search on Amazon.

Need help with tempered glass and its application :/

I have tried three different brands so far and each one exhibits the same problem. The edges of the glass all around don't properly stick on the screen. It is like they are slightly elevated as if the screen itself gas a very minor curve all around its edges... Anyone else had that and do you have a glass to recommend?
Thanks
Same problem here, be interesting to hear if anyone else has found one that doesn't do this.
Hi,
It happens exactly because the screen is slightly curved to the sides (even though not being S6 Edge), that's what we call 2.5D screen.

I have the JETech tempered protector on this list and it has the 'halo' effect. Quality feels good but always looks likes it's peeling of the edges.
I've got a Zagg tempered glass screen protector and it's perfect. No haloing and fits like a glove

Galaxy S8+ vs. OnePlus 5t | Durability and screen protectors

Hi everybody!
Usually I'm only reading stuff here on xda, but I need your help to make a decision this time.
After I had an LG G4 for more than 2 years I decided to get a new phone.
Since the S8 is currently best in design aspects, I bought a S8+ nearly 2 Weeks ago.
Until now I wasn't brave enough to pull off the factory screen protector, because I haven't found a good tempered glass screen.
After reading certain reviews and threads here on xda, saying that there is no perfect fitting protector because of the curved screen, I think about sending it back and getting another phone, like the OnePlus 5t.
I also read that using the phone without a protector isn't an option either, because it scratches quickly.
There are 2 days left in which I can send the phone back without any reason, so I have to make a decision, but I'm not sure what to do.
The 5t has also a curved 2.5D glass, so those screen protectors also won't protect the whole display, but most of it and more than on the S8.
On the other hand my LG G4 had no problems with the tempered glass i put on at all. (Maybe I should keep that one for one more year.)
What do you think? Is it really that bad to protect the S8?
Thanks in advance!
