[Q] Getting to Network SIM unlock screen without SIM card - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I searched...couldn't find an answer and hope you'll be able to help. Thanks.
I want to unlock the network on my Z3 - it's currently locked to Bell Canada. I paid for a code, I got it. My network lock count says 10 so it shouldn't be a problem.
However, because I don't have a non-Bell SIM, I cannot get to the screen needed to enter the unlock code. If I enter
*#*#7378423#*#* I get:
[x] Network 10
[ ] Network subset 0
[ ] Service provider 0
[ ] Corporate 0
[ ] SIM 0
But this doesn't give me an option to enter my unlock code.
Is there a way to bring up the screen needed so I can enter my unlock code?

Put your sim card in it. (ex. Tmobile, verizon, sprint etc) And turn the phone one. It will bring you up that popup.

SIM/RUIM is Perso locked - No service

I have looked into what this could mean, and finding that I have a pin on my sim but I dont
I can put my sim in my origonal device and works fine
this phone has been flashed with 2 roms both no signal only the 2nd rom was giving me this message at top of screen
one thing though, I am having to enter the sim unlock(phone lock from Three) code every time I reboot the phone, I obtained this code using the famous term emulater and running that specific string, this code enters fine and says
SSIM network unlock PIN, enters code, then gets - SIM Network unlock successful
any ideas
Forgot to add, if I go to settings, security, setup SIM/RUIM card lock
I click lock sim card and specify a code
Then tells me it cant because there already is one
I can choose Change SIM PIN, by entering the old one (12345? guess) then a new one
I have 1 attempt remaing before I have to contact my phone carrier
Phone is from 3 Mobile but my Sim is from O2, if I put this sim into my origonal device there is no PIN
Any ideas?

I would follow the other method on that guide and SIM unlock that way. It will be 100% successful and then you will know if your SIM card has a pin lock or if your device is having trouble. Remember that you need to be on gingerbread firmware to use the diag.nbh so search the forums and read up before you act

[Q] Help interpretting SIM lock service menu Z3

Hello all,
I bought a Z3 under the impression it was locked to tesco mobile, but when I look in the SIM Lock service menu after *#*#7378423#*#* this is what I get
[ ] Network 0
[ ] Network subset 0
[ ] Service provider 0
[ ] Corporate 0
[ ] SIM 0
No numbers other than 0 and no X's
Can anybody tell me what this means. Thanks
Just in case anyone needs the answer to this in future, the phone was unlocked, despite coming with a massive sticker saying it was locked to teach mobile and was sold saying that it was locked to tesco, it was unlocked.

Help unlocking sim D6603

Hello. Half a year i bought D6603 that was connected to some uk provider, the man i bought from had unlock code. So on first run we inserted sim that is not acceptable, so it asked for unlock code, after code was inserted, sim lock was unlocked.
Now, i had a problem with my phone, so i brought ir to repair center, after all fixes they reinstalled OS , and after that, now i cant use my sim card. i wanted to insert that code again that i have, but it not allows it. when i go to that "secret" menu of sony, in sim card section i see all parameters are 0, so that means that enabling all simcards by code are disabled.
Please help, how i can unlock my phone, that i could use my own sim card? I have that unlock code, but i can't insert it and unlock.
Thanks.
P.S. now i have tried to hard reset it as it shown in this video:
youtube.com/watch?v=4al5k-mooc8
after this "hardreset", in secret menu , sim lock tab shows not zeros anymore, but unknown error.

S8+ blocked after trying to unlock it

Hi guys,
a friend of mine told me that your are the only persons they maybe can help me....i really hope so!
I bought a S8+ which is A1 Mobilkom Austria locked. As i want it with a another carrier "3 Hutchison Austria" i ordered a sim unlock Code from a third Party Company. After i got the Code i tried that like the instruction says:
#####################################
Instructions to release your SM-G955F Galaxy S8 Plus
1. - Turn on the handset on with a SIM card not accepted by the device (your new network operator)
2. - If the card has a PIN number, enter it and press OK.
3. - The device will prompt: “Network lock”, Now enter XXXXXXXX and press OK.
4. - Your phone will indicate: "The operation was successful", becoming permanently unlocked.
Minor code: If the code in step 3 does not work, type the code XXXXXXXX and press Unlock, the phone will indicate Unlock fail, now dial the code again from step 3.
######################################
I really don´t know if i did something wrong...after 3times it is locked now.
After that i am getting this message now "SIM Network PIN blocked. Enter SIM Network PUK" - But now the Problem Begins. I tried to put in the PUK Code um my 3 Hutchison Sim Card but that was
unsuccessfull. So it seems it doenst men the PUK of the sim, it means the PUK of the network lock.
Do i have to contact A1 for that Code? That would cost me 150€ and tehy will give me the sim unlock Code. But i do not Need the sim unlock Code, i need the PUK unlock Code....so maybe
i buy it but i alos do net get the PUK Code.
What can i do now?
Pleeeeeease help me!!
P.S. I am from Austria, vienna - Sorry for my not perfect english
Thanks in advance
martin
Whoah, take it easy...
You title says, "S8+ blocked after trying to unlock". But your description says that your SIM card is PUK blocked?
If the phone boots perfectly without any cards in, then the SIMcard is blocked. Then you need to order a new SIM card for the new carrier, cus you cannot unlock a SIMcard that has been PUK blocked...
It feels like you type the Carrier unlock code instead of the PIN for the SIMcard?

Thats the Problem. I have the PUK Code from my 3 Hutchison SIM Card but that one does not work. I took this sim Card and put it into a another phone which is unlocked and it worked fine. So it can´t be the simcard PUK. If it should be the simcard PUK, then the sim Card wouldnt work in a another phone , right?
I tried few minutes ago a anonther 3 Hutchison sim Card from a collegue (he has the sim pin and the Sim PUK with him) and it also doesnt work!
Thats really weird, it sounds like the SIM PUK ( i know the error message Sound like that) but it means the Network PUK.
I think there should be a another Code ewhich you Need, if yout put the carrier unlock wrong into the phone...
thanks in advance

1.) This means you again tried to unlock the phone 3 times with your friend's 3-SIM card and again ended with the PUK message?
2.) Or did the PUK message appear right from the start with the other 3-SIM in?
If 1. then looks like the bought unlock PIN is not working at all.
If 2. then
-->
Do you know anyone who could borrow you an A1 SIM card for a test, who has also a PUK available?
OK, finally my phone is working with the 3 Hutchison sim Card now
Solution:
I ordered a new unlock code which includes a UNFREEZE Code from a another company. I was telling them my problem and the told me it should be the unfreeze code which i was needed.
After typing the unfreeze code into my phone it asks me for the net unlock code...i typed the new net unlock code into my phone and i can use all cards now!
Thanks for your support guys :good:

I have the same problem, my phone is asking me for the
"Sim network PIN. Enter SIM network PUK."
Wich company did you use to get the code? help me!! haha
I used sim-unlock.at (Austrian Company) but you just need a company who also provides you the unfreeze code with the netlock code.
Some company just send you the netlock code, some are sending you a pack of codes...
Hope this will help you

Galaxy S8+ not prompting for unlock code

I have one galaxy s8 which was claimed to be unlocked b4 buying it,put in my sim and it's writing "invalid sim card, sim card not supported"if i go to settings and search for available networks,it will bring different networks but wont allow me to register on it.if i try to call...it will say "not registered on network"
I made an enquiry and they said if it is locked,it should prompt for an unlock code immediately i put my sim inside.even if i wana unlock again,d phone is not asking for any unlock code neither is it asking for unfreeze code.i also tried secret codes with it and it is not working #7465625*638#.it is a branded at&t phone
You may need to configure the APN for the new carrier manually. Go to settings, connections, mobile network, then APN (Access Point Names), select add and type in new APN settings.
However if that doesn't work, It may be hard locked. Meaning that an invalid sim unlock code was entered too many times. In my past experiences if it doesn't prompt you for the code when you enter a new sim card it is either hard locked or already unlocked and needs the APN settings configured. However after inserting a new sim card the phone would normally configure the APN automatically and only on occasion would I need to modify it to get data/text working properly.

invalid sim card, sim card not supported means it is locked device, i would like to help you to unlock it if you're interested
I'm facing this same issue. When I got the phone I installed an unbranded firmware (XAA/XAA/ATT) and I've since upgrade to Oreo. I can't seem to restore an ATT firmware so I can be prompted to enter the unlock code. Any suggestions?
make sure you using non at&t sim and it must be an active sim card. submit an unlock request to at&t on their website or use an unlock service like attunlocker.us to get your code.

Yes, it's a T-mobile SIM.
Sorry to necro, but does no one have a solution for this? I've seen plenty of threads such as this but very few solutions.
Necro double-post, I'm really asking for it...
First, you have to get an unlock code from the carrier. I had AT&T and it told me my phone was active under an account (previous owner). When you call AT&T and ask for an ulock they loop you to the website and you can't progress there, so you just have to ask for "customer service" twice and then get to the second level support. They can get you an 8 digit code for unlock. But I still never got prompted for the code and neither AT&T (5 calls), Cricket (3 calls), or xFinity (3 calls) could tell me how to get to the unlock screen. The following did it.
My solution was to use the following method, as found on https://www.tenorshare.com/samsung/samsung-unlock-code.html:
Step 1: Open the phone and type #7465625*638*# in the dialer.
Step 2: Then, it will ask for the Samsung Reset Code, it is an 8-digit code.
Step 3: Provide it and you will be done.
