[Resolved] Missing apk files for existing/working apps

I am using Astro file manager looking in /data and it is empty. I checked to make sure I can see hidden files (.file) I am looking in the folder from phone not sd card. I even tried to search for the specific file but it did not exist. The file I am looking for is "com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk" When the search completed it only found the backup of these files, not the ones that are currently being used.
I am still very new at this, so I'm sure it is operator error at some point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you can use Astro to do this. You're going to have to use something like Root Explorer.
That was the problem, Astro does not allow access to the system files.
Super Manager is free in the market and solved the issue. Thanks!

[Q] cant delete

did you guys encounter this problem?
delete failed folder contains hidden folders or files.
The solution is right infront of you. Delete the hidden files.

if you unhide the files and folder through windows then you can delete them from your phone. On the other hand, if your going to connect your phone to windows then you may as well just delete the folder through that.

[Q] EFS folder

Hi just having a look around on my N8000 I noticed the EFS folder is empty, just wondering if anyone else has an empty EFS folder. Need root, file manager to / and look in the efs folder.
Problem sorted forgot to enable root explorer in Estrong file manager so that's why nothing was showing up.
Mate, back up your EFS folder, If it goes bye bye so does your phone and mobile internet.
No-one in their right mind will give the details of their EFS file to another person as it includes their UNIQUE IMEI number....
Do you need root to backup it? (on my other phones I've used ktool but it requires root)

I believe it does as you are accessing the root drive for the information.
Not really sure as I root all my phones/tabs within an hour of getting them
where is it located btw?
i saved mine but completely forgot where to put it back in.
thanks

[Q] Where does Huawei Ascend Y300 store "Notes"?

I've got a Huawei Ascend Y300 with stock firmware for Y300-0151. The android version is 4.1.1. The phone is NOT rooted.
I've been using the built-in "Notes" app but now have a small problem: I can't find where in storage the actual notes are kept!
I've tried using ES File Explorer to look through various folders but don't see anything. Perhaps the notes are stored in some
protected area that is accessible only if the phone is rooted? Does anyone know where/how to get to the notes?
The reason I'd like to access the notes directly is to transfer them to my PC so I can use a search function. The built-in app
doesn't have a search or even a share/transfer feature!
Are there any apps that will be able to access the notes without requiring root?
I dont think this requires root, if this mobile has phone storage than you should look in it not in sdcard if mot than lookout the data folder as well as documents or notes folder or maybe you can change directory in app...!

I've looked and looked, found nothing. So I copied over everything from the phone memory to a PC using ES File Explorer and also
with AirDroid. I then used a program called Agent Ransack to search the contents of all files for keywords I know I used in the saved notes.
Nothing turned up!
I tried searching for filenames as well, such as *.db in case the notes get stored in a database format. Still nothing.
I doubt the notes are compressed or encrypted. My buest guess is there is some protected hidden android storage that I cannot
access...and that it would require root.
Does anyone know exactly what folder and file extension the notes would be in for the Huaweii Y300?
So no luck yet? Have the same Problem

Hi,
on my Y300 notes are stored in internal memory under /data/data/com.android.notes/files if I remember, they're in SQLite format, the file is called note_pad.db.
So you need root access to copy from this folder ... I presume, you can't access browsing from the home folder.
Hope this helps

Thank you! I'll give it a shot and see how it goes!
So am I just renaming the app.apk file as app.zip then? Then download, extract file, search images, etc. right?
Obviously if the app updates I'm guessing my changes will be overwritten each time?
may be well i donot update my apps.
