Ok the nightly update has taken my root and CyanogenMod camera first time I have done this so excuse the ignorance and searching for this is like needle in a haystack for a direct answer
I went into the developer options and clicked on root access and chose Apps and ADB but still not root access,. I have SuperSu v2.46 in the !ReadyToFlash- Root_files.
So 3 questions
• Do I have to go into recovery and install SuperSu again to gain access and is this the latest SuperSu?
• How can I prevent this happening again next time I install the nightly updates?
How can I get the CyanogenMod camera back?
Thanks

So wait, if you had the CameraNext camera, does that mean you were on the official CM12S and then flashed a CM12 nightly over the top? If so that's why you're having problems. I need you to clear that up before I can help with your questions.

Was running the Uber CM-12.1---ONEPLUS [AK Kernel] [GCC 4.8 & 5.0] not the S version. I think i clicked on the updates by accident as new to this 'nightly updates':crying:
So if I just flash SuperSU again in recovery it should go back to Root or do I need to install the ROM and GAPPS again
Cheers

ive downloaded and installed the hammerhead omnirom nightly from their site and it works great except for the fact that my apps cant get root access. Anyone know why this is and how to get root access back.
ive also installed superuser, though when i go to install the latest binary through the app, the latest version of it (3.1.1) doesnt get installed, it stays with the default "legacy" version

So Cyanogen sent out the 44R ota today and I am rooted with a custom recovery. My current software version is 38R android 4.4.4. So in order to do the ota:
1. I need to go into SuperSU and do the permanant unroot.
2. Reboot
3. Flash stock recovery.
So for step 3 I downloaded the 38R stock firmware from cygen's site. Can I extract it and flash just the recovery? Will this work?

You don't need to do any of that. No unrooting is required. You can flash the OTA with a custom recovery. All you need to do is initiate the update process through your Settings menu.

I'll try that next time but I used my method and it worked fine

Of course it did, but what I'm saying is it's completely unnecessary to do all that.

If you uninstall Xposed you can use the normal OTA. If you don't want to uninstall Xposed you can use the modified OTA. The custom recovery and root make no difference either way.

hey thank you very much timmaaa! works perfect after update i only need root again
Thanks for the help everyone!
I don't know why but the latest 05Q seems to keep losing root after using the phone for a while (10-20 Minutes). How to solve this? This is pretty damn annoying. Tried SuperSU v2.40 & v2.45 still keep saying phone is not rooted after the phone has been booted a while.
You're probably better off asking this in the pre-existing OTA thread:

Did you flash SuperSU or try a play store install? Flash has always worked best for me via twrp
I recently decided to root my oneplus one. However i ended up flashing a custom rom (cm12 Lollipop) before flashing the supersu binary. I downloaded the latest version of supersu and copied it onto the root of the phone and flashed it via recovery countless times. But for some reason, after i boot the phone back up and open supersu, it just lags and then displays a black screen. I downloaded it from the playstore as well, but it just won't open. Root checker says its not rooted, despite having a custom rom installed. What do i do?? Please help
You don't need to install SuperSU on CM12, superuser is built into Privacy Guard. Perform a full wipe and flash CM12 + gapps again without installing SuperSU and you should be fine.

Hello all.
In a few days we will have CM12 "S" or oxygen os 12
For OnePlus one root with custom recovery how we do for a clean install and keep root?
Update for OTA or instal whith recovery?
Thanks for answers
You can't keep root during an OTA. Just take the update and then flash SuperSU again afterwards to get root back.

Thanks, but i keep my custom recovery?

Yes, as long as you have "update cm recovery" disabled in Developer Options.

Ok. I enable this option to install TWRP.
When the update will be available I accept it and installs it.
After I done parameter factory and I install su on market.
With this method i keep my root and TWRP
