Hey all Samsung have pushed an update via the playstore to fix the battery drain issue we all had. Seems to work so far!
Patch up!
yeah that update seems to fix it. I've watched streams like twitch or youtube for half hour and noticed only drop of 3-5% before it was like 10-15%
This update did nothing for my battery life. Its just a placibo. Waiting for the new software from Samsung
Thanks for the info but i think mine is already updated itself
the auto updates is checked

Today I got a new firmware update, however in the Play Store says that the changes are "functional improvements", I really have no idea if there's something new, and I have checked and found nothing nor what are the functional improvements.
Wondering just the same but it could be possible they changed something with bluetooth connectivity.
Has anyone else noticed that with this update battery life seems to have taken a real hit?

I definitely have. Used to go two days without recharging. Now I can't make it through one day without it needing to be recharged. Makes this watch pretty useless since I can't sit by a charger all day. Not pleased.
Probably would an update come soon because of battery drain...
I am charging my watch every 3-4 days. So no, battery life not taking a hit for me.

Same for me, about ever 3 day. No difference after new firmware.
So since the last update. I have issues with notifications and the battery life has dropped a bit. Android system seems to be the culprit at 17 percent use. I've cleared cache numerous times and optimized the battery alot. Ideas?
mmm weird, with my lastes updated B175 for AL00 I noticed a little bit of improvement when it comes to battery life and system performance, one thing I have to do tho was review the permissions for the apps that are always on the rest I just kill them whenever i lock the phone doing this my phone last 2 days without charging
We've all heard the tales of woe caused by the Tizen 3.0 update and its effect on battery usage. This was (at least in my experience) mostly, but not completely, fixed by the later Tizen update, but battery life was still noticeably less than before 3.0. One other thing the 3.0 update did was break the Weather app. This went unfixed for a long time, until finally last week there was an update for it on Samsung Apps. This fixed Weather, but I also noticed that battery life is improved at least to the point it was before 3.0. Anyone else notice this? I wonder if the broken Weather app was constantly trying to download weather data, therefore eating battery.

Is that why my weather wasnt updating automatically or did i have a setting wrong?
I just got the weather update, and the update broke the weather app... It was working fine before for me. Now it just says unable to load data...
Yea, I have noticied this too. Battery seems a lot better. Here, dropped 20% in 1 day of usage.

huh? My watch uses about 60% in a day. Been like that on Tizen 2 as well as 3. Did not notice much change. I do have "always on" display though.

Same here m8. I'm using always on, movement gesture and activation by bezel, brightness on 7, bluetooth on, wifi off, hr monitor on.
Has anyone been able to remedy battery drain after March and June OTA updates? Any method to revert back to earlier firmware, I tried and got slapped with "binary 10 > 8 error." Has anyone had success with FDR? Safemode has no effect so far.
Admittedly I was a sleep at the wheel with this issue I allowed OTA update to G90UUESACSF1. After update, my battery life is about half. Can watch it drop while browsing. Been up for about an hour now and down 13% from a full charge under minor use. To boot, all of the progs listed "battery use" don't account for 30% of total use so far. Ahhh, good ole planned obsolescence.
Thanks in advance.

The only thing I could think of is re seating the battery.
But you would have to take apart the phone to do that

I repair these S7's daily, and it's not necessarily the firmware update but the age of the battery causing the quicker drain. Since they are about 4 years old now, the chemicals inside the cells has started to deteriorate, therefore the only solution is to replace it with a good quality battery (not a cheap $5 Ebay bootleg ones, but a $20 original!)
Did anyone encounter the same problem??
Two 5ii of mine are draining too fast this month.
I don't think it's a hardware problem, but a software problem.
Anyone??

I noticed that too for a week.
It must have been some Google service update that generated a lot of unusual wakelocks.
In my case, it's gone and back to normal.
reboot your device just in case
Same here as I texted this. I've getting SOT like less than 4 hours per day even I've restricted battery on some apps and restricting background data. However the issue still persists.
Kinda agree with the Google Service Update thingy since after some play store or updates installed and the battery drainage is just absurd.
Also throttling the CPU a lot and temperature is higher than usual, almost achieving 40°C in just usual social media, browsing and working.
Worst is that I've reboot in safe mode, and multiple restarts and is still draining battery vigorously.
Hope some software or google updates can solve this issue quickly.
From my experience (see my previous post) i had the problem for about 1 week and then it went away.
And lately, I'm getting the best-ever deep sleep battery consumption during night: ~3% .
I did not tweak any app battery policy in settings and I'm using stock A12 latest update.
You may have some rogue app update that is not in tune with the correct power management posture.
I have the same issue. It seems to have been triggered by poor network connectivity or something. The first time I had this issue, I had to solve it via software repair. I'm not keen to go through the process for the second time. I have shut down and restarted my phone several times.
There have been a number of posts on Reddit recently about massive battery drain with Sony phones.
Here and here and here and here
Seems like it's a Sony Vs Google problem
I have had the same huge battery drain, with my phone going from lasting two days between charges, to now getting hot and lasting just 15 hours
When I look at running apps, I see Gooogle Play Services has 2 or 3 instancnces. Some with 13 services. In the last two weeks Play Services has used 825Mb of data. Feels like my phone has become an AV transmitter.
Hello guys, today I noticed that the battery is finally back to normal. I turned on auto-update for everything and let it update whatever it needs to at the very first place.
Hope this kind of **** don't happen ever again.
I don't have auto-update and that issue only lasted a few days
