Can i install the OTA updates in my rooted nexus without doing unroot? I have android 5.1 ruining in my phone and yesterday I got the OTA update for 5.1.1..... Plz do help me and please do tell me the process if possible....
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The ota will not work if you're rooted or have made any system changes. You have to be 100% stock. See this which is dedicated to ota on the nexus 5, http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217. You also want to see this where you can learn more about your device, http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5
I am using moto g2. I didn't wait for the ota update by motorola and downloaded the update which is 5.0.2 from this site. Now it is time for the new 5.1.1 update to be released so i just wanted to know if i'll get the ota update from motorola? Kindly help.
Thank you

I live here on Dubai. I bought my Tab named "Q-wave781M"(Which is not known) with 4.2.2 firmware cost 600+ AED. I want to update it atleast 4.3 or 4.4. Checked the About Tablet then update but nothing pop out. I dl'ed an app that check what firmware i can upgrade to and it possible for 4.4. 2 weeks ago i learned about custom roms. But there is a possibility to brick if it's not properly installed. I dl'ed Rom Manager but cwm/twrp doesn't support the device(Can't install/flash). A msg said it's installed but after booting to recovery still the stock recovery. I'm newbie here and modding android. Please help. Ty

I am trying to figure this out too pls
I have a stock unrooted Motorola nexus6 that is currently running lollipop 5.1.1 build LZY28N. I am using the AT&T straight talk sim card. I cannot get it to update to marshmallow. ive been considering unlocking the bootloader and flashing it myself, but I don't know wich build to download. from what ive gathered the LZY28N build is tmobile build. I also seen somewhere that I need to download build MRA58K. I have downloaded this build but have not proceeded because I'm not sure if it is the correct build. I want to get an official build as to not screw up my new device. I recently had a one plus one running cyanogen 12.1 and it was crashing a lot and I'm trying to prevent this from happening to this phone. anyone out there have any info for me? I know how to unlock bootloader, root, install twrp, and flash. I just need some direction as to what build to flash and have everything go as smooth as possible
