[Completed] [Q] Counter/Timer app recommendation - XDA Assist

Hi guys,
Trust you are doing well. I am looking for a counter or timer that I could use to monitor certain of my daily activities. For example I'm trying to nurture the habit of reading 45 minutes everyday, so I'd like to set pre-set 45 minutes in the counter or timer and after the set time I'd like the application to notify me but the catch here is I want the app to allow me to select a music from my music files instead of the classic "buzz" or "beep" sounds which to be fair isn't very much to my liking.
I don't mind the app having advertisement and if possible I'd be grateful if it's a free app. My mobile phone is the Huawei Ascend Y300(U8833).

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. This isn't really the purpose of XDA Assist, our purpose is to point people who don't know where to post in the right direction, you can read more about it in the sticky thread here:
The Purpose of XDA Assist [Please Read]
I can only really suggest you have a look for apps on the Play Store or in the apps section of XDA:
Android Apps and Games

Hi timmaaa,
Thanks for reply. Will go to the apps/game section you linked then

[CLOSED][APP] ScoreKeeper Plus - a free score keeping app. Could use some feedback!

HI all,
I'm somewhat new here -- been lurking a while, and have recently started posting. Anyways, I recently hit the marketplace with a free app I've developed, ScoreKeeper Plus: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bammsoft.scorekeeper
In a nutshell, it's a score keeping app, tailored towards board games and the likes, with many uses. Additionally, I've included a few useful utilities for such events -- a highly configurable dice roller and a game timer.
So far, I've received perfect reviews from my modest user-base (~20 users), but I'm looking to grow that and get some feedback to further development.
The app is free and has no ads, so please share with all who may find this useful!
All feedback is HIGHLY appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

Why does the app need permission to read contact data on the phone?
The description says why internet access is needed, but the combination of that and reading contact data for an app that doesn't seem to obviously need the phonebook could look suspicious.

Hi sorry, I missed this question. Thanks to the poster above, yes it's to pick player names from your contact list.
The network permission is to pull a message of the day when you first launch the app. The MOTD let's me communicate with my users. It pulls from here: http://android.bammsoft.com/ScoreKeeper/MOTD.txt
On a side note, I'm quite pleased because there's been an explosion of new users, a 700% increase in the past 2 days!
Cheers,
Shane
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Just pushed a significant update (1.2.0). I added many translations and completely overhauled the new game screen.
Check it out!
EDIT: It's still propagating through the play store
EDIT 2: Is available now.
I want to reset my Note 3 to factory defaults. But I'm worried that my saved scores are gone after this. So my question is where are the scores saved and can I make a backup of it.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,

@sjb933 do you have an alternative to your app or are you willing to put the app code in open source so it can be continued by others?

[Completed] [Q] 2.1 device, no play store, app for enable adb wifi when charging?

I'm using a rooted Nook NST. The forum there is a bit quiet. I'm not getting any replies to my search.
What I need to find is an app or method to automate turning on wifi, and enable adb-wifi when charging. Ideally also to take a wakelock to stop sleeping. This can allow me to automate adb sync.
But we're stuck on Android 2.1 REL. We also don't have Google Play service since that effects battery.
How do I find an app that will work?
I looked at making one with AppInventor2 but it doesn't have a way to detect if a charger is connected.
Hi there,
Since you are a Senior Member and you know where is your dedicated device forum I think the best place for asking is there. Or you can try searching thru this forum for an app that match with your needs:
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Apps and Games
Or ask for that here : Your Google Play Store is blocked? Search/request your app here!
And please read our stickies threads.

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You might try tasker. I don't use it so can't help much but here's a thread to tasker, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110775 Read through that and if you have questions you can ask in that thread.

[Completed] Android + Kiosk App

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for help and this is the last place i'm having hopes for..
I have native android app that was developed by me. and my company wants to put this app in tablet so then the app has true kiosk mode, loading on the start, auto-updating (somehow?? today I'm checking it with api call and forcing users to go to google play)
The current kiosk mode i have - isn't working that well across all the devices, Some tablets like samsung 8 inchers will cause app to crash on requesting device administrator. Some tablets don't allow me to disable turn the screen back on if user clicked on the button.
We would also like to add some AdMob and AdColony SDK's there but now the issue is that if either of this networks has a link to google play or just a web link it fires intent and kicking chrome instead which knocks my app to the background in some devices.
What do we need to do from here? I mean what do we need to find to get it done? We would be buying some specific tablets for that too so I guess we can modify ROM if that is required but I'm really don't have any clue where to start here.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!
