I have a problem with my desire HD, it won't let me search for wireless networks. I tried everything, so now i am turning to you guys! Hope you can help me!
Here is my problem:
When i turn on my wifi i get a message "Unable to search for networks".
Here is what i have tried:
- I tried searching your site for information, and what i found is a thread saying to rename a file. But since i am running stock and do not want to root my phone (company phone), this is not possible for me.
- I have tried restoring factory defaults, without any luck
- I have written HTC support but have not heard from them
What i want to do:
I want a way to format my phone and reinstall the stock version of android on the phone. Just like you do with windows. Is this even possible? I can't seem to find anywhere, where it says its possible via USB cable to reinstall the firmware from HTC?
Do any of you have an idea of how to solve my problem?
I recently bought a moto g and decide to root it. went through the process of unlocking the bootloader and so on and flashed cm11.I rebooted it this morning and the Wifi mac address was completely different than that of the day before. I was using texdroider_dpi to set the screen dpi to 240 which also makes it set SELinux status to permissive. Could this be the cause of the problem? should i diable this app and set SELinux to Enforcing? I do have experience with adb and flashing and the likes but im stumped here. if this mac address is hardcoded into the hardware, would flashing back to stock fix that?
Anyway,
I've tried changing it back but i cannot, i do know the old mac address but i have no clue how to change it back on CM11. i tried editing the WNSCC_qcom_factory_nv.bin file in the persist folder(after backing up ofcourse) but it wont change. can anybody guide me through changing the wifi mac address back? i dont want to be walking around with an illegal device (i live in canada and im not so sure about this stuff here).
Also, if i have posted in the wrong place please move this there. Thank you.
@underyourbed Hi! I have the same problem, i was using Lollipop 5.1.1 and i formated everything to install kitkat again, but when i did that, my mac adress was changed, my mac is 00:05:f5:89:89 but now my phone show me this → 00:0a:f5:00:00:00.
The strange thing is that when i installed again lollipop, the phone shows me the right mac, but if i install kitkat it shows me a wrong mac.
Hello, my xperia z3 D6653 cannot turning on wifi and hotspot, but still able to turning on bluetooth. Many already posted with various trouble like this, but none of them works to me (still not yet tested put it in the freezer). Also i'm already flashing various stock rom for kitkat loli and MM but the result still the same.
Some thread says to remove the modem using adb shell but i'm encountered another error executing those command
Anyone know or experiencing this problem please let me know what you do to fix it. Thanks in advances sorry for my bad english

Hi everyone
Please help me out!
So I had a weird issue with my hw2 that it couldnt find any wifi network right after pairing to a phone
But for some reason after I updated my watch to android 8, this issue was fixed and I could use wifi...
But I had to factory reset the watch because I also flashed official oreo on my phone, and after factory reset the wifi issue came back!
So I want to know if there is a way to downgrade my watch to 7.1.1 and upgrade it again and hope that wifi would work!
And also is there anyway to flash custom rom over bluetooth?(cause there is no wifi)
Really need help working this out and unfortunately Im not a developer to see if I can read any logs or anything...

hello, very strange your problem, you should try to ask in the ROM section, maybe someone will deal with your problem, sure it is not a hardware problem?
Inviato dal mio Google User Experience
Hey guys, help me out. I can't connect to my university Wifi because phone requires CA certificate and when I say do not verify it asks for Domain and I don't know what it is so I can't join the wifi network and get wifi Authentation problem if I try typing in something random in Domain section. I never experienced an issue like this before and internet search yields very unpromising results.
https://support.google.com/pixelpho...twork-is-wpa3-and-doesn-t-need-a-domain?hl=en In here it says there is no solution.
Should I restore to MIUI from my TWRP backup. It took hours to get here and this is such a f you moment to me since I can't download all of my missing apps and backups with my mobile data. Please tell me if there is a way to bypass this, I can probably root the phone while I am at it if it is required.
If you have a laptop or PC closeby with WIFI (or another phone) maybe creating an WIFI hotspot helps?

I can actually do that but I need the uni wifi connection eventually. The "feature" is seems to be forced by Google at 12 version. So I will just load 11 plus edition if I can't find a way. BTW my TWRP is completely broken now and always gets stuck at splash screen whatever I do I couldn't get it to open. PE recovery seems to be working fine though so I will just install 11th version from there.
I think the issue seems to be related to this
PSA: Android 11 will no longer let you insecurely connect to enterprise WiFi networks
The Android 11 update will break connecting to certain enterprise WiFi networks. Here's why and what you can do to fix it.

So I think downgrading to Android 11 won't work either, but worth a try
Maybe try asking someone who manages your universities network? (Like a systemadmin?)
(Anyone correct me if I'm wrong I don't know the most about CA certificates)

Yep that is the source of my problem. I never had that issue with the latest MIUI version though. IDK about the system admin. I guess I will open a ticket about it on schools website.
