[Q] One Notification Manager to Rule Them All? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I spend all day in front of my PC with my phone sitting on a cradle nearby. Ok, not ALL day. I go to meetings, lunch, etc. I also have a Pebble smartwatch.
I use MightyText to be able to text from my PC, which now will send notifications from the phone to my PC. I've played around with PushBullet which does the same thing. On my Pebble, I also have the Awear app, which shows me notifications from my phone.
What I'm looking for is some way to synchronize all of that. If I get a notification on my phone, I love that it will show on my PC and my watch as well, but I hate having to dismiss it or mark it as read in three different places. Does some app or combination of apps exist that allows this?

For me, PushBullet dismisses everywhere when I dismiss it on my PC or on my phone. Maybe double check the PushBullet settings on your PC and your devices for "Notification forwarding".
/edit: Sometimes an uninstall and re-install on your device does the trick.

Thanks, I'll give it another try. Does it just dismiss the notifications, or will it actually mark, for example, a text message as read?

If you respond to it, it gets marked as read and disappears from your notification drawer. If you just dismiss it, it will remain unread and the icon will still be visible in your notification drawer. That's the behaviour I get, at least.

[Q] Two-way notification dismiss

Hey all,
Just wondering if a 'two-way notification dismiss' option exists on the Gear 2? I also have a Pebble and there's a feature on the watch where if I check a notification on my phone (i.e. Note 3), the notification will dismiss itself on my Pebble as well and vice-versa.
It seems that on the Gear 2, if I check my notifications on my phone, it'll still show up on my Gear 2 until I 'delete' the notification from the notification list on the smartwatch.
Please let me know....thanks!
No way to dismiss a notification two way.

This is something they really need to work on.
Kind of annoying deleting the notifications on both devices.

I agree 100%. This was my first day with it and though I love the thing, I must say this is a little annoying. Also I have noticed that when reading one email as part of a notification, if a second email arrives, i cant read the second email, only the subject. This is through the k9 mail notification which I guess isnt fully supported. Teething problems with it I guess.

Is there any SW2 notification app that also syncs the read status to the phone and vi

Hi, I've tried all possible apps that promise to push notifications from phone to SW2 watch: WatchIt, Watchify, LightFlow, etc.; but none of them actually sync the read status of the notification between the watch and the phone. What I mean is that, after a notification is pushed from the phone to the watch, when I read it on the watch, I want it to be automatically removed from the watch but also from the phone. Right now all these apps don't do anything about the notification on the phone, so this leaves us to manually remove each notification twice, which is a pain. Do you know any app that can perform this task well? I would gladly pay for it. Thanks.

Watchify should do that. There's another that I could dig up as well.
Notify Smartwatch is another
Watchify definitely does that.

No it doesn't, not what I wrote.
I asked about "automatically" marking as read and removing the notification from the phone when I open it on the watch. It definitely does not do that.
All Watchify can do is is to remove the notification from the phone when you open the notification on the watch, press Menu (3 dots) and click on Delete. This is definitely NOT the same thing. This implies too many touches on the watch for such a simple task.

You could have it always remove from the phone as soon as it's sent to the watch. Other than that so what if it takes a couple more clicks?
On phone notification bar there are a button to "erase all notifcation", so we can erase all in one click when we open the phone and maybe only one time per day (if we want) if we do not use phone because all notification are on watch, not so simple ?

Persistent Notifications on Android Wear (to recall later)

Hello.
Moving from a Pebble Steel watch to an LG G Watch R, I am missing a few key items that is making me re-think about my LG and going back to the Pebble.
One of the most important, key functions I liked was how notifications were stored on the Pebble. Whether I received a text message, WhatsApp, FB message, etc, they remained on my Pebble until I cleared it's local history.
Why is that important? Example scenario: Wife sends me a text during my work day to buy some groceries. She also lists out in the text message the items I need to buy. After work, I arrive at the shop and with no need to pull the phone out, I just scroll down to the notification and read the text message sent earlier in the day from my Pebble.
But in Android Wear, notifications seem to disappear altogether when dismissed. Unless I'm missing something, is this true (that notifications cannot be recalled back later in the day)? I'd hate to return my LG G Watch R as I do like other aspects to it, but the Pebble Steel still represents the most compelling smartwatch proposition by providing functionality I actually need and use.
Thanks in advance for your help!
The persistent notifications will be present in Android wear lollipop...
Just swipe down the notification which you want to recall... Swiping right removes it... Swiping down hides it

Are you talking about the undo dismiss feature?
I've also had several incidents of incoming texts consolidating hangouts messages. When that happens, I can no longer reply to individual messages.
khyasad - For this case, if you share a list in google keep, your wife can edit a shopping list. It's even more handy than reading a text, as you can check off items as you get them.

Multiple notifications

Probably not the first to ask this - anyone know why I get multiple notifications? Sometimes I get 3-4 notifications for one text or appointment. When I look at my phone there's only one thing showing so its just the notification. Curious...
depend if the app on your phone (re)send notification regularly ? some app like tasker send for example "no active profil" every few minutes but you just see ONE notification on the phone.

Thanks. I only use stock apps for text, email, and calendar. The dupes are usually for text and I can get up to three sometimes.

Question Notifications help with S22 Ultra

Hello everybody,
I got my device yesterday and i am still trying to sort things and settle down.
I have one question which is driving me nuts.
In my previous phones (latest being OnePlus 6t), i could make the apps (such as instagram and WhatsApp) not to show the message but only the notification badge and how many things i am missing (such as 2 messages, 2 chats or 2 messages 1 chat).
On S22 Ultra, i can hide the context on AOD but the context is always seen on while the phone is unlocked/on homescreen.
Would appreciate if you can help me solve this issue.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Press the notification till you see "settings" menu. Select the notification type you want (push the text, for ex. "new messages for sim 1") Than select "silent" and enable app icon badges. You should be ok.
Nope didn't work. Still can see the message there.
In Settings>Notifications> Lock screen (Display), do you have 'hide content' set?

you mean it makes just beep sound and doesnot wake up screeen? right?

Nope,
This was how my old phones used to act;
If the screen was off, it would wake briefly, show the whatsapp icon and go back to turned off screen.
On the lock screen, when i wake the phone, it would show the whatsapp icon and that is all.
On home screen, when i scroll down, it would show whatsapp icon and number of chats and messages but not the details of the messages (like 2 chats, 3 messages).
But wouldn"t give details like "Nicole: How are you doing"
My new S22 Ultra acts like below;
On lock screen, it acts correct. Only whatsapp image pops when i receive a message.
When it is awake and when it is on home screen, it pops the whole message for me to read. And when i pull down the notification pane, the whole message is there for me to read.
I have fingerprint activated on my whatsapp.
Now, if anybody can read and reply to the whatsapp message by pulling down the notification menu, what the hell is the reason of a fingerprint layer on whatsapp entry...
They can simple send one message to me and they can see whole of the newly received messages.
As well as, this causes the above mentioned issue. Where people can read delicate messages when i am showing something else in a different app...

Yes i do.
That hides it only when phone is locked.
Let me try to post some pics of what i am trying to explain.
Alright got the pics.
At first, you can see the lock screen acts as it should. Doesn't show the context/content
But on the second screen, where it is notification menu scrolled down, the message can be read.
And the same happens if i am doing something with the phone when the message is received.
So, people looking at my screen can see the message.
Please also note fingerprint login is also enabled for my whatsapp. So this totaly kills the point of fingerprint log in.
And when i figure this out, i will also need to hide other notifications as well.
When i receive an email, i will show how it was on my other phone's notification panel.
Since whatsapp doesn't allow multiple devices at once (cellular) i can't show with whatsapp message.
I hope this gives a general idea of what i am trying to sort out.
And here how it was on my old phone. It shows content hidden on notification menu for the apps i have closed preview of.
Whatsapp, instagram etc.
The reason there are 2 separate outlooks is one is a calendar alert and other is actual email.
If i had like 5 mails and no alerts, it would show as one outlook and say 5 emails with one notification.
you can also see that instagram is also hidden as content.

I know it won't fix everything... but just Messages and Whatsapp in the meantime.
They may have mixed the order up there... good luck lol

At least i sorted the WhatsApp.
Having 2 messaging app doesn't help.
One doesn't have the options you showed, but it also have the block/blacklist option.
I also need to find where the app lock is on Samsung. Where i can fingerprint lock the apps i choose to.

I presume that's your Android messaging version there, cause i only use the Samsung one.
You'll find it in Play Store
I need help!
One thing I had hate on my 22 Ultra is the combined notification sounds. I want to separate system sounds, text messages sounds and app sounds. Nothing seems to be working. It all comes back to this screen and it's all combined. I need away to separate them.
Any help?

Go to Apps section.
Select the app you want to configure.
Click on Notifications.
Notification categories.
You will be able to select individual sounds for everything separately.
Some will be trial and error tho
