[Completed] [Q] Need APN for 4G Boost Mobile - XDA Assist

My Galaxy S4 has extra slow speeds. I can't even watch a YouTube video. I've tried boost apn and sprint apn's. Still garbage and my friend and his wife has boost and their phones are blazing fast on data. What can I do?

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. The best thing you can probably do is contact your carrier and find out exactly which APN you should be using on their network.

No response in two days, thread closed.

[Q] G2X on AT&T data issues?

Sorry if this is redundant folks, but a friend of my stepfather has been having some issues. He recently purchased a G2X, used it for a month or 2 on T-Mobile, but now wants to switch to AT&T with his girlfriend. He's gotten pretty far, getting the IMEI from T-Mo and getting it actually unlocked. He's now got Calls and Texts up and running on AT&T's network, but he can't get any data to work. We know that 3G won't work on it, but we assumed EDGE would.
Any help here? I'm sure it something reasonably simple.
Please and thanks, XDA!
There's a thread in the SGS2 dev section with AT&T's APN settings. They probably need to be changed in the phone.
Mine is unlocked and I tried my wife's at&t sim and had no issues connecting to internet. Not that that helps you, just wanted to throw in my experience. I wonder if it makes a difference which type of rate/data plan the at&t sim is on.
G2X CM7
Thanks Barry, I found that thread and sent him the APN settings. I'll post back tomorrow with results.
And thanks for your input phburks. The reason why yours worked may be that you're running CM. Our g2x is running stock Android.

[Q] How to get my Motorola Photon Q on boost

I haven't been able to find too much info on it. I found a Chinese translation for editing Motorola ESN/MEID #'s. I know there are people out there with this wonderful phone on boost. I was hoping to find out more information.
Any information leading up to me getting my phone on boost will be much appreciated.
I may even put a bounty on it.
I currently have a Samsung Transform Ultra on Boost and it is almost 3 years old. Sadly, it's now dieing and has become difficult for me to use.
I can't give up my keyboard phone. No matter what you say.
??
I wasn't able to find any way to edit ESN/MEID. A user accidently deleted (somehow) his/her ESN/MEID and can't get the phone to work correctly.
I don't remember the thread but you may find it by searching all threads I've posted within this section.
There aren't very much, so it isn't that hard.
PS: I don't know what you mean with "on boost".

Boost is a pre-paid carrier here in the USA. They were a subsidiary of Nextel I think... Now it's Sprint.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boost_Mobile
Any Takers?
I know this thread is a year old, but I did not want to create a new one when this one already existed.
I called Boost Mobile and tried to have them swap my handset to the Photon Q, the lady said that the device was incompatible with their services.
I didn't really get that seeing that Boost Mobile still uses the CDMA EV-DO Revision A for 3G speeds. The Photon Q has this Radio/hardware and configuration. The only thing I saw that could be stopper is, I did a side by side comparison with the HTC SV One and the Motorola Photon Q on phonearena and checked the 4G LTE and the bands both phones used. The Photon Q has the 1900 Mhz band for 4G LTE while the HTC SV One has more (700, 800, 1700/2100, 1800, 1900, 2600 MHz)
although by the comparison the Photon Q may/may not receive a 4G LTE signal from Boost Mobile, it should still be compatible with 3G using EV-DO and below (1xRTT)
would anyone with more savvy than myself know of a way to get this phone on the Boost Mobile network. It is common knowledge that the Boost Mobile network is a scaled down, no roaming, Sprint network. this is a Sprint Phone. 4G aside, it should work.
The phone is not so old that Sprint/Boost will not allow it on the network. I currently use a phone older than the Photon Q with Boost Mobile and I have no issues. I just want to upgrade to this phone. and of course i am using clean ESN/MEID's
any takers?
here's my research. (remove the remark blocks)

thanks!
Bump for an unanswered question, and a good thread.
Good Luck, OP.
Maybe the Photon Q devices are not 'whitelisted'?
If your informations are correct, there is no reason not to work with boost.
Bump.
Thinking about taking my Photon Q LTE or a used Samsung S4 to Boost or FreedomPop,
Thanks.

[Completed] [Q] LTE on Straight Talk with T-Mobile iPhone 5

Hi I'm a noob and I have no idea if this is the correct place to ask this question so I apologize if it's a dumb question. I ported a number from a Verizon iPhone 4 to a T-Mobile iPhone 5 on Straight Talk (I'm amazed that I was able to figure that part out). I would post the APN that I used, but it won't let me because I'm a new user.
Everything works great except it only seems to be getting 3G. Does anyone know where I can get APN settings to get LTE speeds? I've tried various APNs by Googling, but this is the only one that works at all for internet. All of the other ones I've tried can't even connect.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately we don' deal with iPhones here at XDA Developers. But, we have a sister site for that! Head over to iPhone Developers and check it out!
Good luck!

[Q] MT6582 No.1 Note 4 clone (3g fix)

Hello, I purchased this phone.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S2HGSDQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have it activated on my MetroPCS line and I can only get Edge(2G). I would like to have it on 3g at least.
I can make phone calls just fine, and I can get on the internet. It's just so darn slow I can't even stream youtube..
I have rooted the phone. I cannot get on the correct frequency to make it 3g..
I have searched everywhere until the point of getting confused by so many failing methods.
Please let me know if there is a way.
I'm not sure what information you need, so please let me know what you need.
I live in North America and I live in a 4GLTE coverage area.
Here are a few screenshots

I can see the 3g network from Att. But I cannot connect. I get an error.
Thank you to anyone who can help ahead of time.
I'm having the same problem, have you figured out how to fix it?
No, it turns out that there is a hardware limit. The phone itself is only picking up 2g because of the frequency. China is on a different frequency than America.. But if you have att service . Or cricket. You can get 3g at the max in some areas.
I've given up and just use WiFi when I can. The YouTube app let's you change the quality to 144p an the videos stream great. Just less quality. Oh well. Lol
Try cricket wireless and let me know if it works. I'm on metro PCs.

S7 EDGE antenna

I spoke to a technician in Sprint and he told me the S7 only has one antenna the note 3 has two.
That is the reason why I cannot talk and internet at the same time.
Anyone has any experience on this or can verify this?
Thanks

Guys anyone can shed some light on thus issue? I spoke to a samsung tech guy and told me the reason why the kote 3 can be on data and voice at the snaw time its because the way it connects using g2 and g3. The s7 its using lte and the carrier is jot ready yet to provide that kind of service. Any one can help on this issue?
Also is there a way to force the s7 to use g2 and g3 only?
Thanks

I1 founs this article:
Unfortunately you cannot do this anymore on Sprint. I will list below as to why.
The older phones had two CDMA radios put in them (such as the S3 on Sprint). One dedicated to voice -- another dedicated to data. Therefore you could do voice and data. GSM has always been one radio .. because that one radio can do both tasks at the same time. They got around it on CDMA by simply adding another radio in there and dedicating each one to one task.
Now a days they're getting rid of that second CDMA radio. So therefore you can only use talk, or data -- not both at the same time. Now if you're using VoLTE it will allow voice and data since the call will be going through LTE (as data) and .. data will be data. So it is technically then all data. Verizon can get by since they have VoLTE ... Sprint doesn't yet so .. No other work-around except to just use WiFi while on the call.
