[Q] SElinux from enforcing to permissive - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyway to change this? Phone is running android 5.0. I need SElinux to be permissive over enforced. I looked over the forums for a couple of hours and all threads about this are dated like 2013 and older. How do i change this if it can be done at all. I do not care about knox being tripped i just want to change it easier the better. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure you need to be rooted, once you do that you can you can get the app from the play store and change it

you do need to be rooted and just download app from this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524485
I do believe Google has removed all apps from Play Store that can change SELinux,,,

KT Kernel has a toggle built in to change SEIinux also.

You can get plenty of apps made by XDA members ,like SElinux mode by using search. You need root, obviously

Viper4android & lollipop not working

Hi,
Before anyone complains I have spent hours searching google and XDA and seem to find conflicting information so requesting assistance and clarification in regards to running viper4android on lollipop. My knowledge on android is limited so apologies if this is a silly question.
I have a SM-N915FY that was running viper4android until I upgraded to lollipop. My understanding is that viper4android requires SElinux to be set to permissive rather than enforcing in order to function? I'm not sure as to what the SElinux status was when using KitKat as it was functioning fine.
SElinux mode changer does appear to work on a stock due to KNOX, despite uninstalling the KNOX apps with titanium backup. In order to set SElinux to permissive do I need to wait/hope for a KNOX free kernal to be released for my device?
I've read that SElinux can be set to permissive on boot via init.d, has anyone managed to do this successfully?

Not sure where you're getting this. I'm running viper4android fine on all my stock touchwiz devices on KitKat where SElinux is locked on enforcing.
Has something to do with lolipop

He is completely right. Lollipop isn't letting it function like KK did. There had to be a kernel that allows permissive for it to work on lollipop.
I am patiently awaiting Samsung to release the source code for the t mobile edge, I lost my viper usage ever since I upgraded

Yeah, I just read up about this. Of course, since we have pretty much no dev support, we'll probably not get custom kernels any time soon. Oh well. Just one more reason I'm staying on KK.

The kernel source is already released. Check here. The problem is to compile it with SeLinux permissive. I struggle since few days to compile it but without success.
It boots but I loose baseband and it reboots every 1-2 minutes. My kernel thread is here if you have knowledge how to fix this problem, I will compile it also for N915T.
Best regards.
Guys look on the v4a main thread i looked ln and someone posted an init.d script that FINALLY allowed me to use v4a on lp again go maybe 5-6 pages back and if your phones dont have init.d support just search for 'init.d support for stock roms' good luck guys (also its very weird but se linux is still enforcing #1 and #2 v4a was installed by just regular install i.e not a system app and all my convolvers are working etc, im crazy excited and i dont want to mess with it but the tweaker in me just has too =^)

[Q] Android M and Xposed.

I have the preview build that I put on using the .zip, I then rooted the phone. But there are things I want to change of course. So I was wondering does Xposed work on M? If so what do I need to do to get it on there?
Dude.. Xposed isn't even working 100% on lollipop. Either help the project or be patient and wait like most of us around here.
Goddamn spoonfeeding has to stop, opening a thread for this wasn't necessary, since there is a general thread for Xposed right here on XDA. You would have found your answer there.

Little bit harsh, but I have to agree.
Android M is TOO early to be worked on, it's just a preview. Once again, I want to put my point that this release SHOULD NOT be a daily driver.
Xposed, in other hand is still in a beta / alpha state. You do not want to expect it to work on M while on Lollipop it barely works (I mean, Xposed developers are using temporary fixes to work around some issues)
Please, in all regards, be patient ! I'm sure it won't be long until M becomes a fully mature system images and we can all develop for it.
Let's try not to get too worked up about things guys. There is little information about M on the Xposed thread, and the user would, sadly, had he written such a question there, be attacked by angry members writing "Don't ask for ETAs!"
The truth is that while there hasn't been any work to port Xposed to M, the zip from 5.1.1 COULD work. So far, no one's tried it. There haven't been any changes that could totally prevent Xposed from working. That being said, due to Xposed's hack-filled nature, there is little to no chance of the phone even booting after the zip is installed, let alone after modules are installed.
Im actually shocked there hasnt been a few mods made for m yet. I mean we have custom kernels. Id agree xposed wont happen for awhile but a few simple mods would be appreciated.
You can try long press on the settings icon in the notifications area (it is an hiden option like developer hiden option) so you will have some options to modify the ui.
Cleaned the thread. Let's not be rude to each other.
It's fine if you want to talk about Xposed, M and the N5 but keep it constructive.
Please keep in mind that Marshmallow isn't even officially released and Xposed (though very functional) is still in development and even alpha on 5.1.1 so constructive discussion would actually be limited.
Let's not just speculate about it.
Thanks!

[Request] Kernel Android 7 Nougat DPLT

Would it be possible to have a kernel Android 7 Nougat really stock please with just these things there :
1) Build with DPLT kernel source
2) Latest Linux version 3.18.46, is always up to date
3) SeLinux is set to permissive
4) All samsung related configs disabled (as knox, tima, restrict rooting)
With just these 4 points it could be a stock kernel and more optimized knowing that the rest can pose problem because the nougat kernel has been reviewed and corrected compared to the old version.
Hope to be able to have a core as mentioned I thank you in advance !
yes please I also really need what OP is requesting.
UMS enabler doesn't work unless SELinux is set to permissive..

How to "bypass" TikTok new accounts referring invite code?

.....
up
Hello, im from brazil too. Try to use magisk custom prop because that will generate a new CTS profile for your phone, maybe that works. Also don't forget that tiktok can read IMEI of the phone, so you can try using xposed to change IMEI(software) and try to create new accounts on it.;

I think that Xposed module only works on older android versions because that Xposed module no longer works on newer android versions since android Oreo I think
Also u should never talk about changing IMEl here because it's illegal in most countries
9. Don't get us into trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.

Oh, that explains why FSposed with "android fake" didnt work for me.
So if i "downgrade" my android 10 to Oreo or lower it would work normally? And if so, apps nowdays supports older androids versions?
Theres any other custom OS that the Xposed module works fine at this part of changing android id and etc?

If you're device came out back than with nougat or above yes but if you're device came out with pie u can only downgrade all the way up to pie can't downgrade any further it's just not possible
I see no value in this thread, all it shows, to ask how to circumvent the system. There are reasons why apps have security measures in place.

CopperheadOS Image download

Hello there.
Does anyone still have a Copperhead build that they could share with me?
I've searched on the site but I had no luck, apparently, they now charge for builds.
No idea if they will even give me a build of the Nexus 5 since it's not been supported since 2016 (From what I could see from archive.org).
Have a great day and thanks for reading this thread.
I have one, but it is not the latest one. FYI, it is *not* secure anymore (outdated android, no security patches, missing some crucial security features...)
Let me know if you still need it so I can upload it/need help installing it. I got it working on my Nexus 5 not a while ago before resorting to a other OS

Sorry for the late reply, I almost forgot about the existence of this post.
I would really appreciate it if you could upload the image to any service.
I know that it's outdated, but it should still be relatively secure compared to Custom ROMs of that era.
(I just wanted to try the whole Isolation thing)
Thanks in advance
