Dramatic Battery improvement for Note3 Lollipop. - Galaxy Note 3 General

If you have a note3 you can apply my next advices for reduce battery consumption.
1- Deactivate Samsung bloatware applications.
2- Sync accounts has to be reduced to minimum. Special effort on google sync.
3- [root] Aplication Greenify. Frozen every app that you do not use often or not need background sync.
4- Google apps like Search or Google Now have options for localize that eats your battery.
5- [root] Increase screen time by reducing brightness to lover levels with aplication LUX.
6- Never use the “battery saver mode” from Samsung. It will increase your battery consumption...
If you are interested in these points I will explain them detailed now:
1- Deactivate Samsung bloatware applications.
Go to: Settings – General – Administrate applications – All
You can now see the list of all apps installed. You can click on any app, enter on its options and disable it (if possible). I will list the samsung apps that I have frozen:
Adapt Sound, Bloomberg+, BlurbCheckOut, Chaton, e-kiosk, Evernote, Samsung bill, Flipboard, Travel background, Google play Magazine, Google play movies, Group Play, Hangouts, User Manual, My files, Phase Beam, Rzeczpospolita, S Beam, S Health, S Translator, S voice, Samsung Galaxy, Samsung Galaxy apps widget, Samsung link, Platform conectivity, Samsung Push Service, Samsung Watch on, Sapa Monitor, SketchBook for galaxy, SkyCash, Story Album, Story Album Widget, Talkback, Tripadvisor, Unified Daemon (EUR), Yahoo Finance.
- 36 apps less that will not sync and will not take cpu time...
2- Sync accounts have to be reduced to minimum. Special effort on google sync.
Go to: Settings – General – Accounts
Click on by one all and enter to configurate all the apps that are in the list. Unsync any app that you really do not have to get to sync on background. Remember that any time you enter in an app it will automatically sync.
Special effort with google account. What I recommend is just to have the following syncs activated:
Calendar, Chrome, Contacts, App Data, Gmail, Information about people.
Rest of syncs are not really needed. You will have perfectly done the pictures backup, music and so on. But not needed eternal sync in background.
3- [root] App Greenify. Frozen every app that you do not use often or not need to sync.
I recommend DO NOT install XPOSED yet to samsung lollipop devices. But this app is still very helpful. Install Greenify from the google play store. Donation package extremely recommended.
Inside the app Greenify, Go to: Settings – Experimental characteristics – Working mode – Select: Root (and go back)
In the app you can select all the apps that you do not normally use. Nearly ALL apps. Do not frozen apps from the system, just the installed apps. Do not freeze any app that need background sync (remember the apps you have left to sync in the point 2).
4- Google apps like search or google now have options for localize that eats your battery.
Open the app “Settings from Google” that you have installed in your phone (Oh! Surprise!).
Select “Search and google now ” – Accounts and privacity – Share information about trips – Select NO. (Go back)
Select Voice – OK google detection – Unselect everything!!. (go back) (and go back again)
Select last option “localize” – Historical localization from Google – Turn to off.
Now your google play services will save a lot of battery.
5- [root] Increase screen time reducing brightness to lover levels with app LUX.
Note3 screen is very good and brighter, but it eats the battery very fast. Install the app called LUX and reduce to normal values the bright of the screen. You can double the time in “screen on” just with a bit less of bright.
6- Never use the battery saver from samsung. It will increase you battery consumption...
I do not know the reason, sorry for this. But when you will try to save battery using the note3 setting of “battery saving mode” you will increase battery consumption…
Remember click on “thanks” if this has helped you!
You are welcome!

Well i never knew that .

From 1 to 5, usual stuff i heard them from battery saving tips.
For 6, i would never agree with that. What is the point for Samsung implementing power saving option which clearly limits cpu power? Any prove for that?

I agree with both of you. Pretty much everbody should do the same with rooted phones, wether it is for less useless resources or battery life, it's a must procedure in my opinion. I personally also edit Power Saving only for grey scaling and thats about it, 3 hours screen time and 48 hours for a full cycle is all i need and do

Just wanna know, which is better: to freeze or to delete useless system apps for debloating?

If you know what you delete, than just delete.
If you have no clue what you are deleting, just disable/freeze them. I.E, i dont agree with the OP on Samsung Push Services, i think many samsung services depend on it, i use the reactivation lock which requires a samsung account, and also it's locating service as a second security measure.
Personally, i debloat the ZIP and before flashing, saves me a lot of time, but it's only easy with Custom ROMs.
PS, i'd add PowerNap as an extra module in the xposed section, it's a must for extra idle-times tweaks, it barely goes a % for an hour.

Thanks Friend
Thanks friend it make my mobile combo

I tried Power Nap before but I was (and still is) clueless on how to tweak it so it didn't made much difference ?

You install it, you enable it on xposed, you add the apps on the white list, i.e Greenify, Amplify and other apps that you need to wal
Ke up. The rest is automatic.
I sleep and wake up with the same percentage number .

Is that LUX app effective?

[Q] facebook and others data usage

I have [MAG cLK] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7 [GRJ22 Android2.3.4] rom on my HD2. I have facebook too, as everybody.
In settings -> sync I only allowed for Gmail sync for contacts, gmail and calendar.
(I have background data and auto-sync activated in settings).
Facebook is off. And pretty much everything besides google sync.
In facebook application all notifications, refresh interval are off.
I'm using traffic monitor from radiopt to monitor data usage.
I noticed, during the night, 12.00-8.00 AM, facebook keeps making traffic: about 600KB per night. (~500 download, the rest upload).
What does it do? why it's going on internet if i have everything put on manual or never and no sync for it?
Other processes that use my data are
- android.uid.phone:10001 (dialer and dialer storage) = ~40kb per night
- android.uid.system:1000 (this has the account and sync services) = ~50kb per night. I suppose this one has to do with push services for gmail.
- com.google.uid.shared:100017 (network location, caledar sync, contacts sync) = ~150-200kb per night.
Anyone knows exactly what is being transmitted from which process?
And the main question , what is facebook doing??
Another question: how can i edit the startup programs, something like msconfig on Windows.

maybe there are better apps for this, but Optimize Toolbox has a.o. an option to selectively disable startup programs

[Q] Decrease OS services data usage

Hi guys
I need to know how to curb the data usage of OS services. I'm using ICE DS V6.5.
The problem is that if I want Gmail to sync and receive push messages, then under Droidwall I need to open : Google Play services, Google Services framework, Google account manager, network location, Google bookmark sync and Google contact sync for use. As they are all one "option" there is no way to open up individual ones.
When this is open, OS services starts to use too much data. It ranges from 2MB to 12MB per day. This is what I'm trying to stop. I have set the phone not to backup/restore settings as I've read this might be the cause. I've now tried turning off the Facebook contact sync and the Google contact sync. It still uses the data.
I'm guessing this is something to do with the ROM as I've had this working before in other ROMs with the above mentioned options opened and no drastic data use.
Any ideas ?
UPDATE: I've just left all those services disabled and now use K-9 for my email.
Its still using data. It used 6MB today while the second highest app was 272KB.
The only things allowed through Droidwall and their usages for today are :
Clock widget - 98KB
K-9 mail - 272KB
Facebook messenger - 120KB
Mxit(IM app) - 66KB
Opera Mini - 160KB
Tango(VoIP) - 0KB
Tapatalk(Forum app) - 0KB
Whatsapp(IM) - 175KB
ALL of the above apps are listed individually under My Data Manager, which (probably) means that they are not part of the OS services banner.

Is it possible to stop the galaxy s8+ from installing google duo, google music, etc.

In setup it forces me to install google duo, google play music, google play books and something else that I don't care about. how do I stop it from doing that?
Package Disabler Pro
1. Disagree to everything possible when setting up the phone.
2. Open Google Play once and let it do its thing (which includes downloading more unwanted apps)
3. Uninstall or Disable everything you don't want by long pressing on the app icons
4. Now go to Settings > Apps, Click the 3 dots, Tap Show System Apps and make sure the following are disabled:
• AT&T App Select
• AT&T Call Protect
• AT&T Hot Spots
• com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks
• Direct TV
• Direct TV Remote
• Lookout
• myAT&T
• Setup & Transfer
I also disable the following because I refuse to touch Facebook with a 10,000 meter pole:
• Facebook
• Facebook App Installer
• Facebook App Manager
That get's rid of most of the things that will annoy you, but you can also download a Package Disabler and disable
AT&T Remote Support [net.aetherpal.device] and Device Help [com.aetherpal.attdh.se].
P.S. Using the stock Messages app and want to open web links in something other than Samsung's browser? Disable Samsung Internet [com.samsung.android.app.sbrowser] and Samsung Internet Panel [com.samsung.android.app.sbrowseredge].
I just figured out that those apps are located inside the userdata partition which is unaccessible because of the RPMB fuse being blown and provisioned

10 Facebook App Settings You Should Change Right Now

Whether you are concerned about Privacy or just that Facebook is consuming most of your limited mobile data, these 10 settings got you covered.
Well, if You log into the Facebook App (in this case Android App) here are my top 10 settings that you should Change and my reason for telling you to change it.
#1 SAVE YOUR LOGIN INFO (ON THIS DEVICE)
DON'T DO IT at least for security reasons. If you log out of the device, your login info still remains there if you didn't wipe Facebook app data and that could lead to a security breach.
#2 TURN OFF LOCATION.
Facebook uses your location for mainly ads and other kind of profiling so, always turn it off. That doesn't mean that Facebook won't know your location but at least they'll have to do a little more work to Get it (as I'll show later)
#3 TURN OFF START VIDEO IN TIMELINE WITH SOUND FROM SETTINGS
Anyway, this mainly serves Facebook interest were ads that pop up on timeline plays Automatically. At least, give yourself the chance of being the one to click on an ad because the title is catchy or the thumbnail interesting.
#4 TURN ON OPEN LINKS EXTERNALLY.
You should be the one to choose which browser opens URLS from inside Facebook App. If not, Facebook will automatically track your browsing history, activities and behaviors
#5 CLEAR YOUR BROWSING HISTORY
Since you have turned on open links externally, it is important that you also clear any browsing history left on Facebook.
#6 AUTO PLAY VIDEOS ON MOBILE DATA AND WIFI
May not be bad if you are on unlimited data plan but come on, on mobile data too? by default? Not a good news if you are on limited data. Moreso, this dumps a lot of data on app cache.
#7 & #8 ADS PREFERENCES
Ads Preferences setting is interesting because it has a lot of settings on by default that makes you want to wonder why they are on by default. There are two major parts I looked at here - Your information and Ads settings you just have to turn everything off.
#9 OFF-FACEBOOK ACTIVITIES - TURN IT OFF!
This one is so deep we made a YouTube video for it you just have to turn it off.
#10 Privacy settings.
There are loads of settings in the privacy settings that you need to change by default. You really need this one...

What great advices thank you
Or else, uninstall the Facebook crap and use a browser with an ad-blocker to access. Better yet, delete the application altogether. With the number of times, Facebook has leaked user data, I would advise to not use it at all.

Question Change Default Browser on GW4 and Edit Special Permissions

I Sideloaded Google Go (Searchlite) and Chrome Galaxy Watch 4. on Google Go, when it asked me which app I want to use to open a link, I chose Google Go at the time. However, Google Go is good for Searching but not browsing web pages since the search bar takes up half the screen.. is there any way to assign a new default browser for managing links on Galaxy Watch 4?
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Google Go but that didn't work. I know the device has special permissions and defaults that are not accessible from settings. What happens is that Google Go is opening links within CCT since Chrome is installed on watch. It's much slower and harder to see on Go.
Follow up question: Any way to manage settings on Google Chrome for GW4 externally? Launching settings menu causes app to crash on GW4. Thanks!
Follow Follow Up: Anyway to hide app secondary launcher items from launcher such as Google Clocks Hand washing timer without uninstalling Clock?
