Fast-charging External? - Galaxy S6 Accessories

Anyone know of a portable battery that fast charges (real fast charging)?
I know of these:
http://www.aukey.com/product/pb-t1-fast-charge-battery-charger (I read that the s6 supports qualcomm 2.0)
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/get-through-qualcomm-quick-charger-2_60195548667.html (not really commercially available)

I also would be interested in a powerbank that is compatible with fast charging the S6 / S6 Edge.
And I too came across the Aukey powerbank.
But I didn't find the information if the S6 is compatible with Quick Charge 2.0, as this was developed by Qualcomm.

I purchased both wall and car chargers that were Qualcomm 2.0 quick charge technology compatible and both utilize the quick charge capabilities of the S6 flawlessly.

Cool! Thanks for the confirmation

I purchased the Aukey one you linked over the weekend and should be getting it today. I'll let you know how it is but it advertises that its quick charge 2.0 capable so we'll see.

The Aukey isn't in stock anymore on Amazon. I would have bought it. Thanks, please let us know.

Hey,dear,,,,,,,you are right..choose a good charger is very important.

I bought the Aukey. I only tried it once so far, but it works exactly as advertised. It shows up on the phone as a fast charger. It is a bit heavier than I would like, but I won't be carrying it everywhere, so.
Even with the same cable, recharging the Aukey took a lot longer than charging the phone. I don't know if that's weird or too be expected.

Well the Aukey is 10000mah and the phone is like 1/5 of that so it should take longer to charge.

Right, but I'd only used it to recharge the phone once. It was fully charged when I started.

The Aukey is getting charged with maximum 2 Amps on 5V if it the advertising is correct ,, personally i think it is 1.0A on 5V and your phone got charged with quick charge which is faster , also if you take efficiency into consideration , if the Aukey where to deliver 2000 mah to your phone then it will consume at least 2500 mah to do that .

Aukey will be available April 20. I put my order in on amazon.
BTW, you can fast charge the Aukey if you're getting slow charge times.

Have you seen this one?
http://www.ipoweradd.com/poweradd-pilot-s-12000mah-battery-charger-for-samsung-s5-s4_p1270.html
It looks a good option

Just got this bad boy, so far so good, two charging ports, 1 @ 2.1Amps, the other at 1am. The 2.1Amp side charges pretty fast. Not the cheapest but looks like good quality
Comes with a cool case too
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CKGAE94/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So the Aukey arrived and yes it does fast charge (says so in the pull down).
It's a little heavy and the plastic finish on both sides is slightly scratched (only noticeable) under light, but it seems to be the product to get right now.

Amazon link to Aukey fast charger
Here is the link to Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Aukey-10000mAh-Portable-External-Supported/dp/B00UBDI7EC

is there any word on release date of the official samsung battery back ?
the actual samsung branded one.

The Aukey is a rip off of the Unu battery chargers. The Unu can fast charge for certain. I've had it for months now and love it.

Turbo charger

Trying to understand the limitation of the turbo charger. I understand it can only do a small subset of the battery in "turbo" mode so it doesn't overpower the battery - fine, makes sense. But does this mean it has to be from 1-30% for example or do I get turbo benefit if I had to plug in to top off from 50-80% for example?
I'm 99% sure it only works in the 0-80% range or so. With most chargers, charging slows for the last 5 to 10% to prevent long-term damage. Slow-charging a Li battery will result in better longevity. There is a good chance it will work in the 50 to 80 range, but certainly not the 80 to 100 range.
Does anyone have the turbo charger and stock charger and can offer some stats on charge times, etc.?

Turbo charger is on preorder right now. Mine says it ships Oct 14. I would imagine its just a boost anywhere around 2.5 - 5.0 volts. The plug that came with my Moto X is a dual plug that is 5.0v so 2.5v per plug I suppose.
Is it only supposed to be used on certain occasions? Meaning we should not use it as our daily charger?

This actually made me laugh out loud. Thank you sir.
I have and use religiously the charger that came with my Blackberry Playbook Tablet awhile back and i bet that it is the same output as the turbo charger. My original X (new custom comes tomorrow) will charge about 40% in 12-15 min. It fly's and my wife loves it too. All my friend and family love using it when they come over.
So it is not the same as the PB charger. Its a QC2.0 charger with 4.5Amp. Your PB charger is no more than 2.1Amp. Most certainly a nice pump incharging but many do that today. Its smart enough not to cook the phone so it should be just fine for daily use. My order still says it will ship on 9/23. Big fail there Moto!
From what I've read, the turbo charger uses Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 which allows the charger to talk to your phone and utilize the full power of the charger, up to 60W if available. It only works with Snapdragon 800 processors. A regular tablet charger will supply 10-15W of power. I couldn't find anything on what levels the battery has to be at for the quick charge to happen, but I think I remember hearing it charges at full capacity up to 67%. I may be wrong on that though.
My question is if Motorola is going to release a car turbo charger. I would rather be able to charge up my phone as I'm driving to go out. Qualcomm lists a few different chargers that use the quick charge 2.0, but none of them are available yet.

Anyone got the turbo Charger yet? And is that incipio one even certified by Qualcomm?

Mine still shows as not shipped. As far as the Incipio car charge, Qualcomm lists an Incipio charger, but it is one of the only ones that does not have a link. I'm guessing it's certified though.

I have an inverter, but that is a piecemeal way of doing it. Plus inverters are not small and sleek like many car chargers. Hopefully it will just take a couple weeks for products to start hitting the market.
Are any of the car chargers with turbo charging ability, dual USB ports? I have to use dual port to power My ad2p gateway.
If they are all 1 USB port I won't be able to try it. I'm more interested in turbocharging on the go than at home.
The only one that I've seen is the Incipio car charger. On Amazon, it says it's a dual port, but the pictures only show one port so I'm not sure. I'm guessing the pictures are not correct.

Onite 5V 3A Universal quick wall charger for Note 4

If you have a Nexus 6, Moto X, Galaxy Note 4, or any other Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 compliant phone or tablet, you need a high output “Super Charger” like this one to get the full charging speed that those devices are capable of. On my new Nexus 6, this charger took me from 30% to 92% in 30 minutes of charging!
Pros:
+ Fast and powerful.
+ It runs silently.
+ Good quality build, including a nice quality cable and plug.
+ Quick Charge 2.0 compatible.
Cons:
- Bulkier and heavier than most chargers.
- The LED light is much brighter than it needs to be.
- The prongs don’t collapse, so they are at risk of getting bent in your laptop case or bag.
This Onite 3.0A is well made and very powerful. I strongly recommend you get this or another 3A charger like this if you have a Quick Charge 2.0 compatible phone or tablet. I received mine for free, to review, but am very happy with it.

Thats not a quick charge 2.0 charger, the quick charge chargers use 9v's to charge instead of 5v's

Spammer. He doesn't even know the technology enough to be a reviewer.
note 4 charger(quick charger) is 9v,1.67A instead of 5V
note 4 quick charger is 9v, 1.67A. Though 5V 2.0A is also OK, while no quick.
Considering 5V 3A, maybe it is faster than 2A. But the IC will prevent from higher current.
I actually ordered and tested this charger. It seems as fast as my other 2 Amp chargers. All of the reviews of this charger on Amazon are from other people who've been given samples from the seller. Don't waste your money on this charger.
I'd never buy anything from Onite. Spam threads from them, like this one, seem to pop up quite often.

[Q] Fast charger

Hi
The S6 comes with what they call an adaptive fast charger. Because I am not too happy with the battery life on my S6, I am looking for an adaptive fast charger in an external battery pack. There are lots of portable chargers on Amazon and a lot of them say fast charging but I am not sure whether that is the same thing or they just say fast charging because they are around 2A. Is there something similar to what the phone comes with available in an external battery pack charger?
TIA
I've only seen 2 batteries that support the Samsung fast charge. Officially it needs to be Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 compatible. There is one from incipio that is $80 or so and one from Aukey for $30. The Aukey is out of stock right now on Amazon and I'm waiting to get one as well.
Also if you are looking for a multiport charger or cigarette lighter adapter Choetech make some that work really well and are QC 2.0.

Thanks. I'll take a look at the two you mention.
I also looker before at the Choetech cut I was rather put off by at least three people claiming it caused a fire!
For my car charger, I use my 2015 KIA Sedona's charger adapter that came with the purchase, and it charges just as fast as the charger that came with the S6.
However, the adapter does get a little hot, but not bad. Really surprised at how fast it does charge.

quick charger 2.0

I just bought iVoler quick charger to try it because the price was low and the reviews said it was quality made. I Just received this the other day, and I plugged in my Z4 Tablet and it said Z4 Tablet detected, so it indeed does support the Qualcomm Quick Charging feature! Charging was fast and held strong with my Z4 Tablet. Charging the battery from 0 to 25% in about 19 minutes. And the 6 foot USB cable is of good quality and really nice. It also fits into my Z4 Tablet with a nice click, and fits well around my case. I will definitely buy more of these!
The great product need to be shared.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WSLRCWI
is safe to use ? I'm just wonder why Sony has not advertised this feature
Well, the Z4 is listed as supporting quick charge on Qualcomm's website: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/tablets/sony-xperia-z4-tablet.
I have tried 2 quick charge chargers from amazon so far with the z4 tablet.
No problems and it works with most recent xperias and other snapdragons.

What kind of charging times are you seeing with the quick charge 2.0 with a battery that big? i.e. 80% in x mins from empty etc. I have been searching for an answer to this but it doesn't really seem to be posted in times but percents.
Thanks

You are welcome. It is a great charger. I use it with my LG G4 as well.
So, the Sony charger that comes with the Z4T isn't a Qualcomm Quick Chare 2.0 charger, right? A quick check says 1,5A / 5V and that's also what I measured with a USB gadget. I got the same results with my QC 2.0 charger from Samsung...
I'll try it again with another QC 2.0 charger.
/edit: yeah, the shipped charger isn't QC 2.0. Not sure why my Samsung charger didn't work out though, but I'll test my Pisen QC 2.0 charger tomorrow

Technology is same. High Volt, low Ampere. Any QualComm Certified QUick Charger would be compatible with Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging. Atleast any branded ones, never go for any unheard brands. Usually Tronsmart, Aukey and Anker are good choices in average budget. Here's a video review I did for Tronsmart Adapter (Quick Charge) with my Edge+ :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DR8W9ozZgAs
Also, please note that I have no affiliation with any of these brands, I just received a product for the review from Tronsmart and I found it really good. And I'm sure Aukey and Anker are equally good.:fingers-crossed:
Also, the Car Charger you are considering isn't fast charging compatible. Although it will not take much time with high Amp output (as specified), but its definitely not a fast charger.
Well, I am using CHOETECH’s Dual USB Car Charger with a dedicated port certified by QUALCOMM’s quick charge 2.0 technology so that I can charge my S6 Edge plus at quick charging rate even on the go. Thats very good info. Charging technology is evolving with the phones, and thats a very positive start.

Do you mind taking notes while charghing 20% of battery with both the qualcomm fast charge, and the regular 2.1amp charger.
I've already placed an order for the Aukey 4.8A / 24W Dual USB Car Charger mainly because of the size. I'd really want a charger that can **** plush within the car's charging port.

Charging isn't a very quantitative process. First 20% of charging would never be same as next 20% of charging. Usually with fast charger, the first 20% would be amazingly fast while the regular 2.1 amp might take upto 1.5 - 2 times the time. Also, assuming two different devices have same sized battery, with the same charger, one might get 70% charged within 30 min while the other can get 80% charged. However, by the end of 100%, both might take similar time. Thats why, the % readings aren't very consistent or dependable. Its approximation. With 2.1 Amp charger, you won't loose much time, trust me. Also, I don't have the facts, but I have noticed that when I do the fast charging, battery drains out marginally quicker than when I charge through regular 2 Amp charger. Hope that helps.. :fingers-crossed:

Best of all, the car port's cover covers the entire charger when not charging, this way i dont even have to remove the charger jack every time i have to charge the car, just pluck out the wires, and snap the cover back to conseal the charger.

With constant gaming and videos watching (after working hours ofcs ), mine doesn't stay beyond a day. I'm very happy with that though. I have seen significant different in battery life when I keep the power saving mode on and it doesn't really impacts my gaming at all even though it says that power saving switches to the 1.5 ghz cores and stays that way...!
It doesn’t matter a lot but yeah the main thing is internal circuit and the premium component used in the manufacturing. All of the chargers integrated with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 chip inside. But the best components used in the manufacturing plays a vital role. I can trust CHOETECH more in this area as they are offering 18 months warranty, which means they are confident about what they produce or deliver to their consumers.
