I rooted my phone by unlocking my bootloader, putting philz touch recovery, and flashing superSU.zip. After using my phone with root for a while, i noticed that some things were really unstable and buggy, such as it wouldn't charge, so i decided that i might as well flash cyanogenmod 12 since i have a recovery. This was my first mistake, as flashing cyanogenmod put my phone into an infinite boot animation screen. I then used adb to sideload the official Motorola 5.1 update. But this also gave me an infinite bootloop. I tried flashing cyanogenmod 12.1, that also didnt work. I tried flashing stock android 5.1, also bootlooping. I did some searching and i found that my bootloader was not recent enough to flash lollipop roms. So i tried again after updating my bootloader, and now its even worse. It doesn't even attempt to start up, it just goes straight into recovery mode as soon as i boot it up. It also has this strange screen flickering/glitching going on, like this. I don't even know where to go from here so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Some extra info:
I did clear all cache before flashing.
Model number is XT1032
Bootloader version is 4118, before it was 4113.
I recommend flashing a stock 4.4.4 ROM to your phone using fastboot commands. Do no flash anything older than 4.4.4.
Flash cm11 first. I had the stuck at bootanimation. On cm 12.1 flashed 11 then wiped and flashed 12.1 and all is Good

hi there
i already flashed a few phones over the last years so im not new to flashing but i never made it behind casual using custom roms.
so today i decided to flash my moto g (3g, 2012, single sim, european version) with the resurrection remix rom and gapps. before, i unlocked the bootloader via motorolas homepage (i now have the warning sign when booting up)
i followed the install instruction in resurrection remix thread and wiped my devies, flashed the rom, flashed gapps.
so somehow i ended up with a bootloop (resurrection remix logo) after flashing the zips via CWM and couldnt do anything about it.
i couldnt reboot into CWM recovery so i tried to use trwp falcon recovery and wiped everything.
i tried to install the custom rom again but it wont work. also i downloaded a stock firmware from the developers section but it didnt work either.
fastboot commands work for me, but adb doesnt (device not found) i already reinstalled motorola and adb universal drivers..
so basically im stuck at the bootloader menu. via fastboot boot recovery.img i can boot up to twrp recovery. i can't mount my devices system. i tried to install zips to my sd but it didnt work out (adb sideload doesnt work because device not found). i tried to mfastboot flash the stock in every single step (.xml.zip style) but im stuck at mfastboot flash boot boot.img (bootloader denies permission) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219)
im now searching for a solution for about 6 hours (its 0600 am now) and im really frustrated.
please help me, i was never stuck in such a situation ever before
how can i fix it?
I'm with virtually the same issue.
Difference I can ADB the device. I even sideloaded others ROM but couldn't pass the boot.
Any help would be thanked.
today i managed to flash a brazil stockrom via "how to unbrick..." so i fixed my problem
but then
i tried flashing resurrection remix again (and crdroid)
i keep getting a boot loop
i dont know what im doing wrong
So i decided to install the CM 12 on my MotoG.I downloaded the files and followed the instructions.I wiped cache, dalvik, data and did Format System but the installation failed. So I reboot my phone only to see that it was stuck at a bootloop.I get back to TWRP and I see that there was no OS installed.I decided then to flash 4.4.4 which worked, but after rebooting i was in a bootloop with no OS once again.I installed PhilZ Touch to see what's wrong. It says that I can't mount the system and the sdcard.I've tried Sideloading, adb pushing but everything fails...Is there anything i can do?Help is much appreciated
Have you tried to flash a stock ROM via fastboot commands?

which stock rom did you try to flash using fastboot?
if it's the stock 4.4.4 it's probably going to fail, you need certain things to do (you can search around here) if you're using xt1033, you can search for (xt1033 stock) there's a guide that will get you up and going. On my moto g that has flashed stock 5.0.2 and cm12, i found out that i can't use the normal method to flash the stock 4.4.4 rom, rather i was forced to flash the 5.0.2 rom, since the fastboot command fails at almost everything, which would leave the phone unusable
oh yeah, here's the guideRESTORE TO STOCK
Nevermind.I formatted the data and it let me adb push the stock 4.4.4
ROM
Hello everyone. So I was updating CM12.1 to the latest nightly (4th of July) and when it finished flashing, it rebooted mid-boot, and when booted into 5.1 it said something about "encription failed" and told me to factory reset. So I went to factory reset it, and my CWM recovery was gone. The only thing that happened when I went into recovery is that the spinning-thing Andy popped up for 0.5 seconds again and again. I tried flashing the entire firmware again (stock 5.1) but no help.
I can access the bootloader and input fastboot commands.
I would give more system information, but now I don't know what the hell this phone's running.
moto g XT1039 cid7
Was running CM12.1
Was using CWM-6.0.5.0-peregrine recovery
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: FIXED
So, in order to fix it, i had to install stock firmware one or two times until it worked. You can get your corresponding 4.4/5.1 stock firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/xt1039-moto-g-4g-stock-firmware-kxb21-t2805619 If you install it and it doesn't go past the "Bootloader unlocked" screen, try flashing the stock firmware a few more times until it works.
Hope it helps!
Kinda new to this, so I apologize for any incorrect terminology. This is the second phone I've tinkered with, the first having been a LG Optimus Q which I only rooted.
So, I started off with flashing TWRP recovery and rooting my phone. Everything was fine. Decided I wanted to tinker with the status bar and other parts of the display and found CyanogenMod.
Flashed CM recovery, then installed CM from CM recovery. Booted into device to find I had lost root, and somewhere in the process of re-rooting my phone stopped booting past the "boot-loader unlocked" warning screen, but I can access recovery etc. It also boot-loops when I don't power it down from recovery.
Have attempted flashing stock, re-flashing TWRP/CM recovery, then attempted to install CM again from CM recovery only to have it fail. Could a corrupt mod cause a soft-brick?
I'm re-downloading CM now, hoping that a non-corrupt file will fix this.
Anyone have any other suggestions in case that doesn't work?
::EDIT:: It worked. Phone boots past "bootloader unlocked" warning screen, past the CM boot logo and into the phone.

This was referencing my Moto G 3, actually.
Hi,
I have a Moto G 2013 (falcon) and have installed multiple custom ROMs over the years, with the latest one being the Pixel Experience 8.1 ROM. However, I attempted to go back to the original firmware as Pixel Experience wasn't working too well, and it didn't work, and I got a recommendation to install Lineage OS 14.1 on it, at which point when attempting the install the booting up sequence took forever, and so I tried the Resurrection Remix ROM, also no luck. It appears the phone is completely unable to boot - what should I do?
Kind regards,
Marco
A similar problem, I can not install any ROMs and my stock recovery blinking
restore latest stock firware, this fixes most unfixable bootloop issues. remember by restoring stock firmware i mean "fastboot" way, not through custom recovery.

Don't work, I believe I've damaged some partition (like System,Data, ...) and no rom can be installed, bootloader may be corrupted
My XT1033 only turn on fastboot and stock recovery blinking, other recovery like TWRP they work but I can not mount or wipe any partition
I had similar symptoms after accidentally flashing a falcon firmware to my peregrine device. This caused the screen to "fade out" or flicker, but I could get to the bootloader, albeit flickering. Flashing a correct boot.img solved the bad screen issue, at which point I used fastboot boot mode to boot TWRP and flash a more "correct" rom.
I then ran into the forever booting issue. I fixed this by flashing the relevant radio...It frustratingly booted to oobe within seconds!
Hope this helps someone
