Acer Liquid E600 Root, Unlock Bootloader, Disable Secure Mount - General Topics

Hy,
First sorry for my bad english
This is my first thread here. I made a modified boot and aboot.img for Acer E600.
With these files you can root your phone and unlock the tampered bootloader.
Edited 6/27/2015
1. Root (original thread: http://acer-club.fr/viewtopic.php?f=252&t=9804 )
- Install the correct adb & fastboot drivers https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B...nJDUnFRZnd4VDRYSkJtN19XbkpyS2ZoTHc&authuser=0
- Download cwm: http://acer.shreps.fr/dl.php?v=CWM-...3N0b3JhZ2UvRTYwMC9DV00tNi4wLjUuMF9FNjAwLmltZw and copy to the adb folder.
- Download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip: http://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip?retrieve_file=1
- Copy the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip to sdcard
- Turn on your phone in fastboot/bootloader mode (push the volume down and power button at same time) and connect to PC.
- Open a command line in the adb folder and type:
fastboot devices
if your device on the list:
fastboot boot CWM-6.0.5.0_E600.img
the phone will restart in cwm.
-Install the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip from sdcard.
Now you have a root permission with read only system
2. Disable secure mount
You need open the bootloader.
Your warranty is now void! I'm NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED!
I made a solution to open tampered bootloader without wipe userdata.
If your phone's bootloader is already unlocked, skip the step a.)
a.) Download the aboot.img https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Byr5wBifihDyRTVnMDVVUUIxYzg&authuser=0
and copy to your adb folder on pc.
Connect the phone in fastboot mode and type:
fastboot flash aboot aboot.img (yes aboot.img, dont forget the "a")
unplug the phone, push the power button until the phone turn off then turn on again in fastboot mode. Then back to command line:
fastboot oem device-info
if you see device unlocked: true your bootloader is open
Download the secoff.img https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byr5wBifihDyZlU2VFNPNHEzeWc/view?usp=sharing
b.) Flash my boot.img with this command:
fastboot flash boot secoff.img
fastboot reboot
Done, your phone is fully rooted with r/w system.

If you have adb on PC just copy the systemrw.img to adb root folder and flash with fastboot command.
Example: my adb folder is on the root C:\
so copy the systemrw.img to C:\adb\
then open a command line at the same place (C:\adb)
turn off the phone, then turn on into fastboot mode (hold the volume down button and the power button at same time)
connect to pc and type to command line:
fastboot boot systemrw.img
the phone will restart and you can edit the platform.xml with root explorer or etc.

where is the boot secoof.img file??

Thank you Sir! it worked. but I think it messed up the system. I cannot Uprgrade my phone from android 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 it says "failed to update due to network or server problem. Please try Again later 0014" why is that? I tried to unroot and then run the update again but nothings working

You're welcome! I never met this problem before. 4.4.4? My device with 4.4.2 is up to date
I found this thread for samsung, but I think the problem is the same: http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s4/317378-software-update.html
"As far as I know, only the "Google Edition" has received 4.3 at this time. Some reports say that 4.3 for the other S4 variants will be released in October, but as you mention, that will also depend on your carrier as to when it actually gets to your phone."

[Q] help please! stuck on google logo

Guys i rooted the build GRH78C so i know how to root
i put the new build GRI40 that removes the root access by restoring it from rom manager.
but i was so stupid thinking that superboot for the build GRH78C can also root the new build GRI40. I did then it rebooted but stuck on google logo.
is there any solution?
if i tried the superboot for the new build when it comes out will it work?
does that mean my nexus s will not work forever?
please help
boot into recovery mode
then load another ROM
as a last resort you can use the Odin method, if you are unable to use fastboot methods
after flashing GRI40 by restoring from rom manager i got stuck 2.3.3 unrooted!
if i boot into recovery mode it only recognizes update.zip and passing.zip
i thought of moving update.zip into the internal memory so recovery can recognize it but i cant the phone doesn't have a sd card.
please help
I manage to try this and have the same fate.
To fixit ,is easy. Follow the following.
Fastboot write the original boot.img from GRH78C to the phone,
Boot into recovery, re-apply update.zip
Once done, you are back in business.

Alternatively you can do the following:
1) Download the newest version of CWM from here (Google Nexus S, near the bottom of the list)
2) Boot your phone to the bootloader
3) Type
Code:
fastboot boot recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.5-crespo.img
4) Go to mounts and storage and mount USB storage
5) Download a different ROM like CM and place it on the root of your SDcard
6) Flash it
7) Golden!

Hi SWEETTOOTH, if your still stuck on the Google screen can I suggest Odin as a way forward (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947950) , it wll flash you back to stock 2.3.1, but it will you keep the latest baseband that ships with 2.3.3 (I9020XXKB1). I have used it twice with no problems.
You can then re root and proceed down another path?
guys please help i bought it last week now it doesnt work at all.
how to push update.zip with adb?
how to solve Permission denied problem?

Okay, if you want to test to see if fastboot sees your device do this:
Code:
fastboot devices
If you get an output on that, it sees your phone. Now assuming that works and assuming I understand what is happening to you correctly do exactly as I say:
1) Download and unzip this file and place on your desktop and place the recovery image into that folder.
2) Boot your phone into the bootloader
3) Type or copy the following into your terminal exactly
Code:
~/Desktop/adb-fastboot/fastboot boot recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.5-crespo.img
that *should* work to get you into the custom recovery. From there do this:
1) Go to mounts and storage and chose mount USB storage.
2) Go to this thread and download either of them (one of them is rooted one of them is not. If you want to be rooted, download the rooted one if not download the unrooted).
3) Unzip the file to the root of your SDcard (it should be a folder called clockworkmod).
4) Eject the drive from your computer and select unmount on your phone.
5) Go to backup and restore and select restore and select the one named GRI40-2.3.3 or something like that (can't remember exactly what its named).
6) Reboot your phone. Follow the other instructions about how to prevent the stock recovery from overwriting CWM and how to flash CWM etc.
Did it work?
it says
/Desktop/adb-fastboot/fastboot boot recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.5-crespo.img
cannot load 'recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.5-crespo.img'
i feel like giving up all i need is to install the recovery but there's something wrong
fastboot cant see my device

Its no problem man, everyone should be able to use their phones however they like and rooting isn't easy. Sometimes people need a little help I know I did at first! hehe
Sweet, I have one last idea actually... try this:
Download this SDK http://www.box.net/shared/ljhg8t5sjh it should have everything including an older version of CWM which should still work (again unzip it to your desktop) and try using this command:
Code:
~/Desktop/androidsdk/tools/fastboot flash recovery ~/Desktop/androidsdk/tools/recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.0-crespo.img
If it works you can flash the newest version of CWM through rom manager later.
Sweettooth, is your bootloader unlocked? Do you gave the unlocked padlock icon on the bottom of the screen when you first turn on phone and have Google logo?
If your bootloader got updated to gri40 you can't fastboot boot or fastboot flash if youre locked.
Try the fastboot oem unlock command from Mac Terminal, you can always say no to the warning that pops up if you dont want to go further. Be aware that oem unlock will wipe all data off the phone including sdcard photos and stuff.

TBH just use search in the Q&A forum, try something like "ICS Bootloop".
Yeah, but I don't have recovery cuz it didn't installed ...
Enter in bootloader and inject recovery via fastboot mode.
Can u say me how to do that ? I know only revolution method which is not working (i think) in my case .
Remove and reinsert the battery. Hold vol-down&power and select fastboot. Search for adb and fastboot files on this forum and connect your sensation to USB.
Download the 4ext zip http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377759
Unzip IMG file and put in the Same directory of adb and fastboot. Type "fastboot flash recovery namefile.img"
Everything working now :]
Have u got any ideas how to get access to phone memory ? I need /data/misc/wifi/ to (i hope) fix my wifi .
Try adb and mount data
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12957423&postcount=7
It says "device not found" ? Huh ?
Mmm...try with Droid explorer with your phone in fastboot mode
Thanks A Million

You just saved my night, it is 2:30 am and after long hours of trying without results your answer gave me results in 2 minutes. great job broooo
There is no wpa_supplicant.conf there through droid explorer ...
@I have put it to my phone pulling it out from arhd rom but it does not work ... Near WiFi MAC Adress and Bluetooth Adress there is "unavaiable" .
Delete the file and android i think he recreates a new one.
No , it's not creating a new one ... And one from arhd extracted rom put to correct direction is not working ... And it's not hardware , i'm sure .

[Q] Nexus 5 power button doesn't work anymore

Hi everybody,
So, there is my problem, I bought the nexus 5 in November. I rooted it.
And the last wednesday, while using my phone, the power button decided to not respond anymore.
The phone still worked but two days ago the batery became empty and now I can just go in the "bootloader menu" and the "download mode".
Google accepted to replace my phone, but I really want to save my files. And like you certainly know we can't save our files with the phone Off.
But my phone is detected in this two modes.
I installed the nexus driver but I still can't open my files.
I pretty sure there is a way to save my files, I searching and trying but nothing work, I would open my phone if I can activate the power button manually but I don't know how.
If you have any solution, I'll take it.
Per-haps the ADB can help me ? But I don't know how to use it.
Thanks a lot for reading.
Have a good day !
Ps : I'm new here please be gentle if I don't understand directly
And sorry for my poor english.

You can use a fastboot command to boot into recovery: fastboot boot path/to/TWRP.img if you have TWRP Recovery.
Then you will be able use to use adb commands to backup your data.

1. First off, you have to install and set up adb & fastboot on your PC. Here is a great tutorial: http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-set-up-android-adb-and-fastboot-on-windows-tutorial/
However you can use this tool instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
2. To boot into recovery mode from bootloader, connect your phone to PC then enter this command into cmd:
fastboot devices (check if your N5 is connected otherwise)
fastboot boot path/to/TWRP.img (you can download the latest TWRP img from this website)

Nope because you only BOOT and not FLASH TWRP.img. Actually I say TWRP because I have this recovery but I think you can use this command with the stock recovery. You just have to use recovery.img file from the factory images instead of TWRP.img.

Did you rename the downloaded file to "TWRP.img"? The file name must be the same into your command prompt.
Copy TWRP.img into your platform-tools folder then open a command prompt from this folder and enter: fastboot boot TWRP.img
The path is the directory of your file you want to use. If you open the command prompt from the folder you have TWRP.img (platform-tools) then you don't need to mention the path.
I think the bootloader needs to be unlocked first for "fastboot boot twrp.img" to work? Isn't it? If unlocking wasn't necessary, everyone would've just booted recoveries to root their phones. (so that the sdcard doesn't get erased).
I sincerely doubt that the OP has an unlocked bootloader.

Yes, you can! Just make sure you don't restore the /efs partition which contains the imei and other files which are unique to every device!

Nevermind I fixed it, if anyone else has this problem just install default jb blob from Asus website with fastboot, let it boot into jb once then reboot to twrp and install custom rom

hey luca you are in the bootloader
you need to have fastboot on your pc to connect to the tablet you need to download android sdk, after this you can use cmd with your tablet then go to https://www.asus.com/Tablets/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_TF300T/HelpDesk_Download/ and download the latest firmware and unzip it to your desktop, now hold shift and click anywhere on your desktop and right click open command window here, now go into bootloader on your tablet while connected to your pc and paste
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system blob
into the cmd and reboot when done

ahh im glad your problem was sorted out i often make the mistake of not opening the cmd in the right file location which will cause a failure to push file or cause the tablet to freeze, installing the wrong twrp will also make it freeze on this screen

you are right i was on the wrong location with the correct fastboot, last night i tried several fastboot installations the only thing they gave me was a bunch of unwanted programs installed (removed now)
It worked like a charm the tablet is back on.
Thank you.

Can I still install any recovery(CWM or TWRP) after I have forgotten my password?

My question is: Is there any way that i can install any custom recovery now, when I am locked out of my phone, so I can try Method 7 from this post . I have enabled USB debugging, but for some reason, my device is unauthorized from executing adb commands.
I have Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, and have forgotten its password. I have tried Method 2, 5 and 6 from this post, but to no avail.
I tried method 2 and 5 which requires ADB to be installed, but I was not able to access my phone. I have USB debugging enabled and my phone is not rooted. When I tried to run the following code:
Code:
adb devices
adb shell
it showed that my phone is unauthorized and error: device unauthorized This adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set
Here's the screenshot:
When trying method 6, I had to change the path of ADB driver because the file I downloaded from the post, had its own ADB driver which clashed with my already installed ADB driver, but even after that, it again showed the above error. Here' the screenshot:
Finally I want to try method 7 from the above post, which requires custom recovery to be installed on the phone, is there any way now?
Though it seems now that the I have only one option left and that is to factory reset my phone, but if , there is any other way by which I can bypass my lock screen, please please please inform me.
Of course you can. Just boot your phone into fastboot and do "fastboot flash recovery <recovery image name>.IMG" and you'll flash it. And you can't access the adb because your screen is locked... This is how companies prevent phone hacking
So flash custom recovery, backup the /data , factory reset and after resetting restore the /data backup. And you're good to go. I suggest you using TWRP, because I use it and it never left me hanging Keep me updated.

Install TWRP or CWM with fastboot and then flash the Unlock me! zip that I've created and you won't lose your data.

Didn't know that such package existed... I'd still do it my way if your phone was laggy/corrupted,... Else do the package flash. Keep me updated!

OK... So first boot into fastboot. When you've done that, connect It to your pc with usb, download fastboot package from somewhere on xda(you'll find it).
Open command prompt "CD" to the directory where your fastboot is located in, put recovery image in the folder where fastboot.exe is and type "fastboot flash recovery <recovery file name>.IMG". I'm gonna update this answer in 2 days, when I get to my pc, so try to do it by these instructions, if something isn't working, comment and we'll resolve the problem. If something isn't clear, just ask. Keep me updated.
