[Q] Notification missing on locked screen. - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am having this issue since forever. When my phone is idle or in deep sleep almost no notification shows up. Viber calls, whatsapp calls never rings, hangouts also. Facebook messenger messages are at least 5 minutes late if my phone ever gets to deep sleep. If I unlock the screen i dont get the notifications also. Sometimes i get it within 5seconds. Sometimes i never get them. No matter if I restart the phone, factory reset. Stock rom no root, custom rom, other kernels. Always. I get an exclamation mark in the wifi and the data stuff on the statusbar which goes away sometimes. I get wifi connection it never switches to data.

[Q] Apps Running in Background and Airplane Mode/Loss of Signal

So I dl'd Battery Saver Dr app and when i go into running programs i see like a million apps running, some r android system apps so i leave those alone, but facebook, google maps, twitter, etc. All these are constantly running in the background. I kill the apps and they just start back up again. I go into their settings and change it so they never update...still running in the background. Google maps doesnt even have a setting to turn off the auto sync. Does anyone know how to solve this issue, I'm sure it has a lot to do with why my battery life is such crap.
On a side note; what is the deal with airplane mode going on by itself? It happens a lot after I end phone calls, but also at other random times. I have to turn it off, wait a min or two and hope my signal comes back. Is there a way to remove it from the phone completely? I really have no use for it, especially when it just goes on leaving me with no signal. I also randomly lose signal at times and airplane mode isn't even on. I know its not my area because on my old my phone I never once lost service in over 2 years. Now, I unlock my phone and at least once a day it says No Service.

[Q] Trouble with delayed notifications and events?

This morning I was an hour and a half late to work (no big deal though) because my alarms never went off. When I woke up and turned my phone on, there were no notifications. 3 seconds later, the four "Missed alarm" notifications came up one at a time very quickly.
Today, I didn't receive two facebook messages that were sent 2 hours earlier and 1 hour earlier. They randomly came in both at once.
It seems like the phone is going to sleep when the screen is off.
I don't have Greenify or anything like it to stop apps from working.
My Wifi setting is set to stay ON while the screen is off.
What could be doing this?! I'm so confused.
My alarms failed to go off again today as well. What is going on?!
mhm
not sure if this will help at all but, have you tried going in settings > apps, and wiping cache/data for clock app?
also, please address the following questions:
- device (some people come in here with different devices, instead of posting in their own device' section)
- OS version (version/build, google stock rom or custom rom)
- mods (if any)

Not getting notifications when phone is "Asleep" for a long time, is it normal?

Not getting notifications when phone is "Asleep" for a long time, is it normal?
Hey,
I'm aware to the "Doze" feature but i want to make sure that's a normal behavior:
When my phone is locked and unused for a long time (when i'm asleep for example) and than i unlock it, i'm getting all the notifications from the past few hours.
I mean instead of getting them real-time they will all appear when i wake up and unlock my phone (Facebook notifications, WhatsApp messages etc.)
Is it the normal Doze behavior?
I'm using "Griffin ROM" in my Galaxy S6 Edge phone.
Thanks!
I'm having same issue but i use stock unrooted ROM firmware. I think it's related to google **** services or smth

Sleep mode when display is inactive after a while?

So every morning i pick up my phone and turn my display on. After a few seconds notifications from whatsapp, mail, etc. start popping up. Some messages came hours ago. Same happens when phone is a long time in my pocket. Turned off battery optimization. Didnt help. Happens on wifi and mobile data. Anyone else?

Real-time notifications

Hello. I'm sure this has been asked bunch of times, but whenever I google it, I get opposite results.
So.. I want my phone not to save battery. Like.. I want my notifications to come through instantly. Now only few apps are capable of doing that (calls, messages, alarm clock). But all other apps - like gmail, skype or FB Messenger are not. I only receive notifications when I wake up my device (or when someone starts spamming me messages, after like 5th message they come through, so I guess phone is receiving those messages, just not putting them through). Whenever I google solutions for this, I only get tips on how to make it worse (because for some reason everyone just want to save their batteries) or nothing that actually worked.
What I have done so far:
Battery optimization - off for every single application (even system).
Background activity manager - looks off (there is no toggle, only the 'blacklist', which is off).
Background activity cleaner - off.
Every app has 'Urgent' notification importance.
Phone is not rooted (nor it can be.. stupid Nokia policy). Android 8.1. Nokia 5.
Battery power saver - off (obviously).
Looks like I have data saving modes turned off (I might have missed some, but I only do not get notifications while device is sleeping).
Factory reset (multiple times (for various reasons)). I never received real-time notifications on this phone while it's sleeping.
I contacted Nokia support team, but they took 30 minutes to tell me to reboot the phone, so decided not to wait another half an hour to tell me to clear apps' cache.
I saw that with ADB I could turn off doze, but as I understood, it's temporary as restarting the phone brings this 'feature' back, but I have to restart this phone every day or two due to not a huge amount of RAM (2GB) as it fills up with trash and restarting the phone brings me the best performance, so it's really not a great option. Edit: also, it didn't help
I guess it's a manufacturer specific problem then? ;s
