Root for Gnabo Rom on 10.1 N8013 without cpu - Is Framaroot Safe? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have lost the data USB cable for my Note 10.1 8013 and I want to get root so I can install CWM recovery and Gnabo Rom. If there's an easier or safer way please let me know asap if this is it please confirm I have the steps right.
I've been online for hours and it looks like my best option is Framaroot. I have only rooted 2 devices before and always using Odin and Chainfires auto root.
First question is if it is successful will it allows me to install the custom rom that I want? I'm trying to figure out how or where in the process to install cwm recovery and make sure I don't brick the tablet.
if yes that it will work to install gnabo rom then based on the Framaroot thread I understand that I am good to go using Framaroot 1.9.3 Sam, frodo, legolas or aragon exploits?
instructions as I understand them:
I Dl fr 1.9.3 on device
install with file explorer
Install supersu
then try the exploits until I hopefully see success?
then reboot
How do I get custom recovery? This is where I'm totally lost at
then follow instructions told Gnabo Rom? - already have zips on sd
Normally I can reach a few of the guys from the Tmo N4 to help me because I'm such a new but they're all tied up and I basically only have today free to mess with this.

[Q] installng cwm

Hello, I'm new to rooting but also to this tablet. I am thinking of rooting with c.f. auto root but would I be able to use Rom manager from the play market and install cwm or would it be incompatible with chainfires way? Hope I can because I don't want a brick haha
CF Auto root works fine, BUT ROM Manager is not yet compatible with the N8XXX series. If CWM is already installed it can use it, but it will not install it on the Galaxy Note 10.1
Install CWM manually or just use Mobile Odin which is what I do
Steve
Thanks for the info
Could you please tell me how I flash it to my device or a tutorial on here? Sorry for such a noob question but I have to start somewhere

Root didnt work?

Hello,
I attempted to root My European Xoom which is on JB 4.1.2 Folowed the instruction from FAQ How do I root my device.
I followed all the instructions from Manual Root Way, by XxLordxX and everything went fine. Did exactly as said so when I finally reached the point where you download "Root Checker Basic" and it says Sorry! This device does not have proper root access. But there is a superuser app but it doesnt do much. So whats gone wrong guys?
Plus once this problem is fixed do I need to do Step 5: Backup Image to SD card and Step 6: Restoring Image from SD card?
To load a custom rom.
Cheers
Hi,
The way I ended up rooting was to use the aio root tool to unlock boot loader, then I tried to root but failed, installed CWM with aio then flashed the pre rooted 4.1.2 can be found in Android development, then flashed Dream 4.2.2 an all out stable ROM using Sheild Kernel for OC it's incredibly smooth.
Hope that helps.

[Q] Installing CWM on n8000

I've been searching for methods to install CWM on my note 10.1, I've just found Odin method and manual method, and my doubt is: Can I install CWM directly from Rom Manager? Do I need to ROOT first? All other methods are too hard or too risky to a noob like me!
I want to install Cyanogenmod and I need CWM.
Someone could help me?
Nobody is going to help me? :crying:
No, You need to install CWM first then the device can be rooted. until now the safest way to install first CWM on the device is via Odin. then you can do everything include install new updated CWM via CWM itself. You only need is samsung drivers and Recommended version Odin to your device. At first I'm a little scare to install CWM via Odin but Now It's Fun. You Should Try with Caution of course. LEARN with Caution for the first timer.
God Bless
I'm N8000 user. My ROM was XXCMG2 Deodexed By Darkman installed via CWM 6.0.3.6
Just follow zedomax's guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831152
It looks complicated, but it really isn't. Watch is video and follow him step by step, and you'll be rooted in no time.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge (SM-N915F) Root Not Available for 5.0.1?

I cannot find any root method for this phone SM-N915F anywhere in the forums.
Build number is LRX22C.N915FXXU1BOE1 running on Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop)
I've been soft-bricked a few times for trying a few rooting methods including CF-Auto-Root.
Anyone here knows where can I get root for this model?
I read in another thread that you can flash cwm (what about twrp?) with odin and then boot into recovery and then flash super su to get root. But there is no cf auto root. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Link here
Sendt fra min SM-N915FY
This means CF-Root is working for any device as long as we have the appropriate custom recovery for our device. Thank you for the link, I will try it and post back the results.
Wow it works, thank you for the reply @xenkato
Cool! Did you do it with cwm and super su?
Yes, I did exactly what the person in your link does haha!
So you flashed cf auto root first with that one failing? Or only cwm and then super su?
Err from what I've read I think there are two things regarding the root file provided by Chainfire.
1. CF-Auto-Root (This one is a method provided by him to flash devices directly to root them)
2. CF-Root (This one is where a custom recovery which is suitable for the particular model is needed to flash it)
I've flashed CWM on my phone and then flashed the CF-Root through the custom recovery installed
So I think as long as devices has a working custom recovery like TWRP/CWM then it can be used to flash the CF-Root from Chainfire's website.
