[Completed] Help required!! Samsung galaxy tab 2 - XDA Assist

Hello, I got a samsung galaxy tab 2. I am very new to rotting and all that, i rooted the tablet using this guide and it has worked
droidviews.com/root-samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-wifi-gt-p5110-on-android-4-1-1-jelly-bean-firmware/
I am trying to accomplish two things with it:
One- Getting the OTG to work with it. It didnt work straight away with the adapter and I have had little luck finding a soloution. THe app USB OTG checker says I have the usb otg api, but when i plug in a usb drive it dosent recognise it. I think i may have to install a "Kernal" to fix this but i don'y know how to find one that is compatible and will work. (I am doing this for my mum so she can use a usb drive and i dont want to brick it)
Two- this is the main goal, to get ethernet connectivity on the tablet, i think the otg will have to be fixed first but i am not sure. I cant get it to work and apps that enable the ethernet connectivity like:
google.com/store/apps/details?id=xda.usbhost.test&hl=en
Require some kernal. I have su and busybox installed already.
I have a samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 GT-P5110 with android version 4.1.1 and kernal version 3.0.31 - 523998
Thank you very much if you can help me

[Completed] Is there a way to root a Galaxy Grand without a USB cable?

Hi. I've looked through a couple of threads and none seemed to help me. I'm trying to root my Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos (GT-19082) so that I can install Android Version 5.0
My phone is currently running android version 4.2.2 (stock) and I cannot update it any further unless I root it. My USB port is broken so that means I can't connect it to my PC to access the files, but I can still charge it through an adapter into the wall. Is there anyway I can root my phone without the use of a USB cable? Thanks in advance!

You Can Root Without Usb Cable By Using TowelRoot But You Will Need PC For Upgrading.

[Completed] Is there a hack for samsung mtp driver to connect to non computers

I have a Verizon note 4. I have been trying to hook it up to my blu ray player through usb n mtp. No luc . I got ahold of samsung they said their devices are locked down from that. I was wondering if someone has a hack hopefully without rooting the phone. If I root it I'll just use mass storage.
Hi,
when Samsung says their devices are locked down, normally you can't do anything without root. But you can try your luck here after registering, maybe someone else there knows more.

Usb otg doesnt work (galaxy note pro 12.2 5.0.1)

I start by data:
Galaxy note sm-P905 lollipop pro 5.0.1 (formerly KitKat, and was rooted)
Problem: it does not work usb OTG (I tested one dedicated for galaxy note that has its own power supply, and one for any smartphone (without power support) )
Story: when I was the KitKat, i bought the OTG with power support, and recognized it without installing anything (I do not remember if i bought it before, or after the root). The fact is that i didnt used OTG too much, but when I had the lollipop (I tried rooted and non rooted), does not recognize any USB.
The funny thing is that when I check otg with otg checker app, it detects the OTG, but not the pendrive (if i put one).
The otg wich has own feed has a light, it illuminates when this one connected to the tablet , anyway checker recognizes the OTG but not pendrive.
I saw on the internet that the problem could be the kernel, but not how to find the stock. Try installing one with the odin but I put that value was incorrect.
current kernel:
3.4.0-4719750

You might try a different usb device if you haven't already.
I had a USB drive go bad on me and I thought I was having the same issue and tried multiple OTG adaptors before I figured out it was the drive.
Unfortunately I'm still on kitkat to avoid losing root but I thought I'd chime in just in case it turns out to be something simple.
Yesterday i went back to kk, and it recognized the hub usb (with power supply), but not the pendrive. I had to wipe all the data, and now im in lollipop again. I tried to flash cyanogen too but i haven't found it (well, i found it but i couldn't install it [tried with odin and TWRP])
Im a bit tired trying to solve this, so i've decided to give up and do an pendrive organizer with the hub :victory:

Resurrect a Galaxy Note 10.1

Hi All,
I'm hoping you might be able to help. I want to try and resurrect my Galaxy Note 10.1.
I've got 3 leads for charging but when I plug all 3 in I'm finding that it's coming up with the red cross over the battery and computer is saying the device isn't recognised. I did wonder if that meant none are a genuine Samsung charger.....but then I'm sure one must be!
It does charge (slowly - with red cross showing). Wifi shows but it cannot connect to Wifi so it's therefore without internet or any connectivity.
Details as follows:
- Model number: GT-N8013
- Android version: 4.4.2
- Kernel version: 3.0.101 [email protected]
- Build number: Gnabo Rom v8
Is there any way of this being brought back from the dead?
Many thanks.
Test charge via USB connection to PC usb or USB port .
Flash stock rom via Odin .
Both the charging and the Wifi could be an issue with the Boeffla kernel, did you try to revert to the stock one and see if that fixes it?
Unfortunately can't revert to stock ROM as the tablet isn't recognised by my laptop (and therefore I can't get back to the software)......unless there's another option.
Try another PC .
Samsung USB drivers installed ??
Samsung usb cable ??
