Lollipop ROMs will not boot up

So i've been running stable slimkat 9.0 (4.4.4) on my galaxy s3 and it has been working great. I want to upgrade it to lollipop but I've had trouble flashing any lollipop rom. CM12, AICP, OctOS, PacROM all fail to boot after I flash in recovery. The boot animation starts, and I get the screen that android apps are initializing. After it runs through the apps, the screen blacks out and the phone resets and the cycle continues.
I've had no issues flashing roms beforehand. I can go back to 4.4. and 4.3 ROMs both AOSP and Touchwiz without any problems. I've flashed with both clockwork mod and TWRP and the results are the same. I do a clean factory reset and wipe prior to flashing the rom and 5.1 gapps.
I have no idea why it won't boot up for me. Would appreciate any help!

Are you on the correct firmware? MF1? There is a flashable zip in the CM12.1 thread for it.
Updating the firmware did the trick, thanks! Was running on ML1 up til now. Glad my s3 can still keep up with the times

[Completed] in desperate need for flashing a d2vzw(Verizon SGS3) SCH-I535

Hey everyone, I've been researching for days, trying to figure out how to Unlock my bootloader on a 4.2.2 OS d2vzw(Verizon SGS3) SCH-I535. it seems the only way I can start flashing new roms( specifically CM 12.1) is to install a custom recovery such as TWRP or CWM, but it locks up my recovery and I end up flashing the stock 4.2.2 over and over again. are there alternatives ways to flash roms? is it impossible to unlock my bootloader on a 4.2.2? is there a way I can downgrade my bootloader? help please nothing is working and I can't find current information....Thanks. :good:

Hi
Welcome to xda.

downgrade from 13 to 11

I want to downgrade fromcm13 to cm11 ...... Is that possible....? N if yes then how....?
You have to flash the zip of cyanogenmod 11, if you have the KitKat bootloader you can flash this: https://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/jenkins/67673/cm-11-20140504-SNAPSHOT-M6-falcon.zip ,if you have the lollipop bootloader you will get screen ficklering, so there is a ROM based on 4.4 that doesn't have this bug: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347764798
I reccomend you to install the second ROM linked, is a good Carbon ROM that doesn't have bug!

Can't get MM-based roms to work (LL-based roms run fine)

So I've been trying to update my Shield LTE ROW since this Friday from the stock based rom LL (version 3.1.1) to the MM-based rom (version 4.2) and spend a dozen of hours failing to update :crying:
When I install a MM-based rom the shield boots and the nvidia logo shows a few seconds and then the screen goes black. When the tablet is attached to my pc I noticed that the tablet is not turned off but booted in APX-mode.
These are the things I've tried:
Installing the recovery image 4.2 (fails)
Installing the recovery image 4.1 (fails)
Installing the recovery image 4.0.1 (fails)
Installing the recovery image 3.1.1 (works)
Installing several full and incremental OTA updates to 4.x (fails)
Installing CM 13.0 (fails)
Installing carbon 5.1.1 (works)
Followed the guides mentioned in topics: http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/help/unable-to-update-to-marshmallow-rom-t3444124 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/general/unofficial-update-original-shield-t3281541 (fails)
I've tried a lot of things, but now I'm out of ideas.
Has anyone a explanation why MM-based roms don't want to boot on my tablet? And has the knowledge to fix this?
All feedback is welcome and appreciated.
You are currently able to flash and boot with 3.1.1 or stuck in apx mode?
I'm able to flash and boot with 3.1.1. Only MM-based roms are stuck in apx mode when booting.
You are probably on the Lollipop boatloader still. With that bootloader MM based roms don't work. Flash the latest stock from here, root it with cf-autoroot, flash twrp and MM based roms should work.
Thanks for your advice, I'll try it this weekend.
Just a quick question, why do I need to root and flash twrp? Shouldn't it work if I only flash the latest stock?

Request Information on Installing a Updated Rom on a TF300 running Android 4.4.3

Hello, I have a TF300 running on Android 4.4.3 and has SlimKat Rom installed with TWRP version 2.7.1.0. I want to install (KatKiss - Nougatella 7.1 Rom), but in order to even begin to Flash an updated version of TWRP the instructions say " MUST BE ON A BOOTLOADER ENDING IN 27.1 or 27.5". My question is how can I find out what version of bootloader that I am presently on and if I have to update the bootloader how do I go about doing so? >>>> ROM Firmware Required: Latest stock bootloader, KANG TWRP . Any help would be appreciated Thank You.
