[Q] to increase internal memory using micro sd card

Hi guys , I have been using this handset since october, i have tried all roms till date and other tweaks , one thing i still couldnt get it is how to increase the internal memory.. the whole things is still a zig zag puzzle for me. if sumone can help me with step by step tutorial , will be gr8. i have tried creating partition in my sd card via cwm , bt in vain. infact ended up corrupting my card and got it replaced.

Create partitions using Minitools partition wizard. Create ext4(256-512) and linux swap(0-128) partitions. Switch off your phone. Put the SD card in, trboot into recovery and wipe data. And then reboot.

Coul you just elaborate about the Linux swap file? Is it just like the virtual memory on the SD Card? Suppose if we have 16GB card and create larger EXT4 partitions, would we have to still create Linux swap partition of just 128MB?

For those who facing problem of low internel memory(ROOT REQUIRED)
No need to partition SD card
1) install the app
2) backup with titanium backup
2)uninstall the app
4) go to titaninium backup->Preferences->Restore Backup to->externel media
5) Restore the app with Titanium backup,,
by app2sd u can verify location where the app installed.
And your memory will never go low.. u can manage easily..

Through this way without partition, i guess the apps would be installed in FAT32 partition of the SD Card which is comparatively much slower to EXT4.

Recommended is 128 MB. 128 MB is more than enough. Swap basically is storage place which can be used as memory by the operating system when system RAM is low.

If ur are using stock rom with stok kernel, my best opinion is go with link2sd..
U need to create a second partition in ur memory. Partition should of following format fat32(only Stock kernel), all ext.. file system type.
Then install the link2sd application then the application itself guide u...

I suggest you a custom rom with m2sd script. It will convert your sd partition to internal memory virtually.

Use Link2d ,,,best solution availabe..scripts just make phone slow and app crashed..

Not all scripts does lag or fc... m2sd handles even slow memory cards... for me no lag or no fc. I'm using 16 GB class 4(slow sd) with 1 GB partition. I filled upto 750 MB but still it doesn't show any difference in performance. It's my personal experience... it's not a big deal to try all the options,so Instead of thinking about others best, y don't you find your best?

[Q] Help with HTC Explorer Flyrom

Hi,
I rooted my HTC and then even did a factory reset so it was not starting. I guess it was in bootloop.
So, I installed the Flyrom zip on my HTC and its working fine now. (Flyrom V4 + patch 3)
Only thing I need to know now is how to increase internal memory? I tried using LINK2SD but it gives some MOUNT error.
And also when I open it once, the others give error and do not open. So, I removed Link2SD.
So, please help me. How do I increase the internal memory of my phone.

There is some problem with compatibility between flyrom and link2SD... Use Droidsail it works with flyrom v4 and does the job :laugh:

use a2sd or int2sd .... wich make your ext 3 or ext4 partation in your sdcard as a virtual internal memory .. you can resize the ext patation from the options in cwm or from pc by using G.parted program ........... i did that
but there s.th you should know your htc speed will decrease so you should use swap process ... by creating a swap partaion olso by cwm options or Gparted ............... now in my htc (desire) has an internal memory 2GB and rams (512 MB + 512 swap ) and the rest of my sd is the external

Hi guys,
My phone has root, SD card is 8Gb has great partition 1Gb for ext3, up rom Sense 5 EX Build#6-V1 of …. or JaggyRom_3.2.1 … that is ok
But few days ago when I up rom sense 5 v3: notification when phone stated is “Storage almost full”. I check Internal Storage: available space is less than 1Mb. I can’t action anything on my phone except call & message. Available space of SD storage is no problem
The first, I think the reason by rom, but when I up any other rom, the problem is the same. I don’t know what to do

You also need to install a memory script like mounts2sd or int2ext to make the phone move files from internal storage to the ext partition on sdcard. (Although newer ROMs come with built in support)
I assume you've already installed some such app, in which case you might have to configure it to move dalvik cache and data to external.

do this now..i think u hav ext partition...
u need to flash the rom again...but wipe evrything excpt sd card...n use memory scripts...

i m using flyrom v4.. i wanted data to b on internel memory so i moved cache to ext and have only 10 apps installed using mount2sd after restarting it shows in kbs

Restart your phone. Dont touch it for 15 mins. Let it load up and try again

Problem with internal memory in Sense5 Ex rom

I have been using this rom for some time, they provided with memory script and i flashed it with that, after installing some apps its showing internal memory is low and can't i use the 1gd sd-ext i had created when flashing. Please help me regarding this.

are you using OC kernel?

try placing memory increasing script (int2ext+) in system/etc/init.d/ ...
whats your internal memory showing now??
