Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. There is not a lot of information regarding your variant of the S5 on XDA. OTA's will usually fail if you're rooted. I'd try flashing the stock firmware with odin and then trying the OTA. You can find stock firmware for Samsung devices at sammobile.com.
Good luck and welcome to XDA!

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You'll need to put a custom recovery on your device before you can flash a Rom. Please see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2361122

I have a galaxy s5 active (SM-G870A) running the lollipop 5.0 update. Ive been trying to downgrade back to kitkat 4.4.2. When I try to download the 4.4.2 firmware from samsmobile
my browser, google chrome wont fully download the file but acts like the download is complete, if i click on the file it says it is an invalid file. Any solutions?
Thanks!
Hi there,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Try again without another browser and check the md5 if it's available on Samfirmare.
Make sure your bootloader will allow you to downgrade. If you need further help, you may ask here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/help
Good luck.

Hello how are you. As a new member , I have a specific query . I have a Galaxy J7 SM- J700M , which is rooted, and that is why I can not use Samsung updates via OTA. I wonder if there is any app or a procedure to " temporarily suspend" the root mode , pra able to download updates and then restore it to continue using the "benefits " given by having the terminal rooted .
I hope that this forum of experts have a satisfactory answer.
Thank you., He sent a strong hug.
Nope, your only way is to flash stock ROM via Odin

You have to flash stock rom Via ordin Or try any rom which is unrooted ?
I want to root my samsung galaxy s6 non-edge - g920f.
The problem is, I found a video where you download the twrp from google drive, I couldn't download that file since too many users had already downloaded it.
I then searched for a one-click root, which failed since the ones I found don't support 6.0.1 or are only for the edge.
Would someone mind helping me? Thanks soo much in advance everyone.
this might help

Hello guys, i want to root too, but for rooting with CF is it required to have a unlocked bootloader? And how to unlock my bootloader because I'll be flashing some custom ROMs?
