[Q] Live wallpaper picker... - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I need the LWP for Android 4.2.1 apk and or a zip file for this as well to try to flash from recovery.
I can't seem to get the one I'm using to work, just keeps sending FC messages when I try to enable a wallpaper...
I guess it's not the right one for my Android version?
Or, maybe I have to flash a zip file for it to work?
Help!
Thnx.

That is indeed the boot animation file, unzip it and you can see the individual images.
The problem I ran into here was replacing it with a new boot animation of the same name somehow broke the startup animation altogether and all I got was the blue android animation, even after putting the original file back. I did a nand restore to get the original back and am now waiting for someone to figure out how to do this the right way or start making flashable zips.
I was doing this through es file explorer on viper xl 3.0. Did it the same way many times before on ice with no issues.

I set the system partition to write and then back to read once the files were moved, but I don't think I can change file permissions with es and I don't have root explorer. Eventually I will quit being lazy and try replacing the files through adb with proper permissions like I had to on my evo.

Boot animation

I'm trying to install a boot animation using jrummy's rom tool box pro,I download the animation and attempt to install through recovery but it fails every time. I made one the size of the screen and it previews fine, but just won't install. Any ideas?

I have no idea what rom you are on, or if your bootanimation is set up correctly, but you could just backup the original and replace it with one of the same name in root\system\media
I just did that and it worked just fine.
I'm on gummy nightlies, I can replace it using rom installer no problem. Problem is I want the animation to be on the whole screen, not just in the center. I'll try your method and see if it works..

I can't seem to find root/system/media for an install location, I'm trying to use rom toolbox pro..

1. get bootanimation.zip for your desired boot animation
2. get root browser from play store and grant root
3. keep going up a directory till you can go up anymore
4. go system/media
5. replace the bootanimation
6. ???
7. profit
Sweet thanks it worked! Not sure why it wasn't before, it already had the file in there..

You might have to set the correct file permissions. I have made numerous boot animations and permissions need to be set correctly.

[Request] SystemUI.apk from AT&T 4.4.2 XT1058

Hey guys, I've been trying out http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/themes-apps/mod-aosp-signal-icons-t2584351 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2641297 but completely forgot to back up my original systemUI.apk like an idiot.
I have attempted extracting from ATT_XT1058_4.4-13.11.1Q2.X-69-3_CFC_1FF.xml.zip but this appears to be just 4.4, whereas when I check the OTA Blur_Version.140.44.5.ghost_att.ATT.en.US_2.zip, I can see there's a .p patch file, however I'm at a loss as to where to go from here. Adding in the 4.4 SystemUI.apk just gives me a black background with force closes, and I don't know how to patch the apk with the .p file.
Long story short - can someone please extract their SystemUI.apk from their AT&T XT1058 4.4.2 rom and post here?
Okay, since I found out that ATT 4.4.2 firmware was finally added to http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=0, I was able to download and extract.
If anyone else ever has the same issue, the SystemUI.apk and .odex are attached
Thanks a lot

Does anybody knows how to get the MIUI clock apk?

Hello, trying to debloat the phone I've removed the clock thinking that the android stock version had the same functionality. It did not. So, in order to get that back, I'll have to re flash the ROM but im too lazy to do that.
So, having the system partition file of the ROM, how can I mount it on Ubuntu and recover the APK of that app? And where is stored inside that image?
Or, it will be even better if someone can help by uploading the clock app apk from the global MIUI so I can use that instead of having to unpack it from the image.
Thanks
