So I will try to organize this thread so most important stuff (request) is on top, and my rant/explanation of why I want this done will follow. Warning: I know I tend to use a lot of run-on sentences...I'm just long winded
Attached are two stock (I presume) .apk's that I pulled out of Cyanogen's ROM that I have installed on my stock 2.1 ROM. I prefer these two apps vs. the HTC versions, but each have one small issue.
1) - DeskClock.apk will FC if you hit the Music shortcut. I am assuming that this is something simple, like it's trying to call up the wrong program? Can this be written to launch the HTC Music App, hopefully eliminating the FC?
2) - Gallery3D will FC if you try to launch the camera from within the app. I am once again assuming (more hoping, really) that it's trying to launch a camera app that doesn't exist in the stock ROM. Can this be written to launch the HTC Camera app, hopefully eliminating the FC?
I would try myself, but after downloading and installing Eclipse, JRE and the Android plug-in, I still feel like this is over my head at this point, as all I have is very limited Visual Basic experience. Would someone mind doing me a favor and updating those apps are reposting them in this thread so that myself and other like me can use those on our stock 2.1 ROMs? It would be much appreciated
Now for the rant:
I see a lot of people with differing opinions on HTC's Sense. Personally, this is my first Android phone, and I have found that I actually like SOME of the Sense apps. I dont really have a problem with the launcher (though I have replaeced it with ADW.Launcher), and I feel that apps such as People, Camera, and Phone are somewhat superior to what I presume are the stock Contacts, Camera and Phone apps, respectively. And then I wonder why HTC created some of the other apps they did that seem somewhat....lacking.
1) The "Photos" app is very boring and plain. I mean, I appreciate the Flickr and Facebook integration (which would be useful IF I used them), but why could they not have just added this functionality to the already awesome 3D Gallery? I would rather use the stock Gallery app, and even though the file I attached (see:Gallery3D.apk) doesn't have a functioning camera botton, I still prefer it to the Photo app. Plus, it pulls in my Picasa photo albums
2) The DeskClock app HTC included on the incredible is fine for the most part, but I don't like the small clock font and the fact that it takes FOREVER to launch, whereas the stock DeskClock.apk is instant to load, has a much larger font, and does other things I like better; like keeping my wallpaper visible, and is softer to the eye. Once again, I appreciate the added features of HTC's clock (Worldclock, Stopwatch, Timer), but I don't use them enough to make me like this program more than the stock one.
So that is why I am asking for those to be edited so they'll run on my stock ROM. At least until we start seeing some FroYo love
Also, if anybody knows, why did HTC replace the Messages app with one that exchanges the ability to set conversation limits (e.g. 200 messages, then auto delete) with one that uses Facebook for contact icons? I still use the HTC Messages app cause I like the pictures transferring over from Facebook (or the People app, which is updated by Facebook, and hence why the People app I like BETTER than stock), but why leave out any message bulk control? Anything over two or three hundred and my phone really starts taking a long time to open the conversation...
Alternately, once CyanogenMod's ROM becomes more stable, I would love to switch to it if I could bring some of the Sense apps along. Those would be:
1) People - with fully functioning updates and photo shortcuts to Facebook and Flickr
2) Camera - I like the added features...and the fact that it already supports 8MP, whereas (as of CM5.0.8 Test1, anyway), the camera app would only do 3MP
3) Phone - again, with correctly synchronizing contact pictures and speed dial, just like in our stock ROM.
I haven't actually tried pulling these out of the stock ROM and installing them in CM5, but I'm assuming I'd run into issues with the Facebook/Flickr sync...

attached is a gallery apk that doesn't have the camera issue. and also I attached the stock music apk that is need for deskclock.
Anything from Sense requires the htc framework which you are not going to find in any Cyanogen or vanilla ROM and there is no work around.
The vanilla DeskClock apk (with working music button) and 3D Gallery (with working camera button) already exist in other threads in this forum. Just search for them. You will also find both of those apps in any plain vanilla or cyanogen rom that is made.
As for the phone and contacts, the vanilla ones are much better imo than sense. You will not miss the lag.

Thanks jitajt! Those fixed my problems. Im getting to the point where I'm fairly satisfied with everything about the phone. Just got Hydra's OCUV+N kernel installed and it's working great.
I have the opposite request of this thread actually; I need the HTC DeskClock files from a stock 2.1 sense ROM. Would anyone be able to post it please? Thank you in advance!
I miss having the timer and stop watch functionality that comes with it. My laundry always winds up sitting in the washer and dryer far too long without me setting a timer
Hello. I did a search for AOSP DeskClock and this is the only promising thread I found. I'm using an HTC CDMA Hero. Does anyone know if this is or isn't safe for me to use?
Also, do I just push to /system/app?
I don't know about you guys.. but the sense gallery loads up MUCH FASTER than this gallery 3D. UNINSTALLED
I have both apps in my rom and are runing fine

Camera FC
Hey Thanks jitajt!
I've been trying to get this to work on my samsung spica for a few days now.
But now the camera button (upper right) is giving me an FC error. It's because the camer app I have is SamsungCamera.apk NOT the stock camera app.
Could you provide the stock camera.apk for android 2.1?
Thanks.
looking for a sense beased rom that either doesnt have sense some or has the option to install without sense.
Some of them give the option with aroma inst.
I also want the camera to have the ability to turn off auto focus. I know it had it for a while.
Let me know if you can think of one. ive tried a couple. the only one that i can install without sense sofar is maximus. but it has the 4+ camera so it will always auto focus(on the wrong thing).

MIUI is Sense based with the camera and all. I'm not sure if we have official support of the latest version but I know there are some threads in the development section.
Another option is ViperOneS 2.2.0. It has the option to 'remove Sense' in the installer which basically removes Rosie (Sense's launcher/homescreen) and all of its features. Of course you can also choose to remove some or all HTC apps that you don't want in the installer as well. I suggest this ROM as it's heavily customizable, you can make it looks like AOSP or anything really, and the camera is full Sense. I suggest try it and the camera it comes with. If not you can also try the modded Sense camera in the development section as well.
I saw it in different forums for other devices but not here on One S. Looking after it, I've found a version that is working on our devices and I've thought to put it here as well for others to enjoy.
Gallery version is 1.1.40012
Just to be sure... I don't take any credit for it, I just found it, tested if it's working and put the download link.
To install:
1. Download from below link and save it on your sdcard
2. Install using a file manager, I wasn't asked for root permisions and it was NOT installed in system/app (original camera/gallery app are preserved). A new Gallery and Camera apps will be shown
3. Enjoy
DOWNLOAD
What works and I've tested:
- take pictures on all res
- photo-sphere works
- panorama works (I've got though some garbled photos at the end)
- front camera works
- video recording works (both 720 and 1080)
- all settings work
Bugs: (I found only two by now)
- garbled photo for panorama's
- the small lower right circle/icon for popping up the settings is somehow cropped (part of it is shown little bit up) but this is related to the incorrect resizing of the app I believe.
Tested on MIUI V5 3.7.19 but I'm pretty sure it'll work on other ROMs as well
Working fine for me on rom stock, thank's
I had problems installing this app on paranoid.
The answer is easy :
If you have problems installing this you have to uninstall existing Galleryapp using Titanium Backup app first then install the APK.
Just in case someone wonders how's the quality of this camera, I've made some few tests and posted my findings HERE. (I was asked to compare this camera with MIUI's camera)
does the "burst" mode work?. Will it work on non-sense rom? Thanks.

It has very few options (maybe because it's not fully released???). I couldn't find a "burst mode". It doesn't have HDR as well.
It should work on non-sense ROMs since it's AOSP. I've tested on MIUI which is sense based but Daihogo said he tested it on Paranoid and that is a non-sense ROM.
Tested on CM10 HTC One S(s4), and no burst mode. Everything else works. Kind of "strange" set up, but could get used to it. The "no burst" is a deal breaker. Sadly, going back to sense rom. I hope that someone will "make" version with burst mode.
Been Using this for a while now and love it. the volume rocker works for taking snaps
Works great!
Too bad it doesn't place the pictures in the same map as the stock camera

The stock (sense) camera and AOSP camera always place the photos in different folders under DCIM. One places them in "camera" the other in "100media"
I saw someone else did an MD5 and this is the same camera from the SGS4 release a month or so ago. Still, it's an improvement if only for the fact that the stupid shutter button doesn't move when rotated anymore. I gladly will give up all the CM customizations for that alone.

EDIT: Looks like I was beat to this project by digitalhigh, check the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...ment/app-sense-camera-gallery-m8-rom-t3008262
First off, apologies if this is in the wrong subforum but I can't post to any of the development ones, due to this being my first post (on this account, I think I had an old account but I can't remember). So, hopefully I'm not doing this terribly wrong or anything. However, I do have something a bit interesting that I honestly didn't think would work: HTC Sense's camera and gallery working on CyanogenMod.
I've been wanting to switch back to CM for a while, since my old phone was a Galaxy Nexus. But, I didn't want to have to give up the camera features from HTC Sense. The camera on CM12 absolutely sucks when compared to the HTC Sense camera. I've been looking around for a solution, and every post I found said that getting the Sense camera/gallery to work on an AOSP-based ROM was impossible. I didn't believe that, so I tried getting it to work myself, and figured out that's not really true. None of the apps or libs were modified, they were simply pulled off the latest HTC Sense release.
Current usability
Camera app launches, you can take pictures (+ burst mode works). Gallery also is working mostly.
Current issues
These are still the issues I'm having. If anybody else could help me figure them out, I'd be really happy. I was able to figure out getting this running so far by using logcat.
- Video recording is stuck on very low video quality. MMS (176 x 144)
- Zoe camera is not usable (possibly because of above)
- Manual camera mode crashes the app
- Minor interface bugs
- Probably a lot more

Release?
For now I'm not making a release, but if you install all the apps/libs listed, you'll be where I'm at. Maybe if there's enough demand I'll create a flashable ZIP.

I was totally unaware this was done already. Now if only someone could get BoomSound working, I'd be super-happy.
version app
(google translator) good day. I wonder if the original camera from the m8 has a slow motion option? for successfully adptei the camera with my my s5 CM12. but I found this option. if you have to do send me the version of your camera. because the gallery'm already at the last. but the camera I'm not sure
Hello there
Is this list of apks/libs working for AOSP based marshmallow ROM? Like CM13 or Dirty Unicorn. HTC One M8 running Marshmallow with Sense 6 is not smooth enough for me. Really want to switch to ASOP based ROM but HTC Camera is too good to give up. Looking forward for some solution, that would be so awesome.
Hello guys,
I would need some help from a specialist
HTC Zoe is the best app for putting together videos in seconds. Unfortunately it is only available on HTC phone but I'm sure we could trick the app into believing it is on an HTC even if it is not by modifying build prop or something.
Is anyone have an idea on it ?
I post the apk I'm trying.
Many thanks !
Post the apk

sorry, couldn't do it from the web mobile version I guess. There it is.
You will need the right libraries and some logcats to find the problem. It installed on my device but it would not go further than the first screen
Yes me too.
Anyone has an idea a little more specific in order to get it to work ?
Don't think it is really related to the HTC firmware since it worked on Cyanogenmod too on my HTC.
HTC Zoe working on my LG G4
As a previous owner of an HTC One M9, I also wanted to install HTC Zoe on my Sprint LG G4. But sideloading the HTC Zoe wouldn't work because the app won't launch in a non-HTC phone.
HOWEVER, sideloading both the HTC Gallery and HTC Zoe solved the problem. I gained functionality of Zoe through HTC Gallery.
Here's a link to all HTC Gallery apks:
http://www.apkmirror.com/?s=HTC+Gallery&post_type=app_release
Here's a link to all HTC Zoe apks:
http://www.apkmirror.com/?s=zoe&post_type=app_release
How I did it:
1) Enabled developer mode and turned on USB debugging
2) Opened Settings>Security and checkmarked "unknown sources" to allow installation of apps other than the Google Play Store
3) Downloaded the correct HTC Gallery and HTC Zoe apk for my phone (I'm on rooted Lollipop, so I searched for the variant that was compatible with Android 5.0).
4) Transferred the apks via USB cable to my phone's external SD card
5) Using ES File Explorer, I first installed Zoe, then Gallery
6) Opened HTC Gallery and waited for all images and videos to propagate (about 30 seconds)
The first time you open an image in HTC Gallery, if you tap on the image you will see 3 icons at the bottom: DELETE, ZOE & EDITOR. When you click on Zoe, all of the themes and sounds will download into your phone, after which you'll go right into Zoe and have full functionality to create your clip. You can also click on EDITOR and have access to all of the editing features HTC Gallery is known for.
NOTES:
1) You won't be able to launch Zoe from its app icon, - you will only have access to it through HTC Gallery.
2) It's important to install both the Zoe and Gallery apks. By itself, the Gallery apk has a stripped-down version of Zoe. When both are installed, full functionality of Zoe is gained.
What's HTC Zoe?
It's HTC's version for Google Photo's movie maker. It uses your pics to make a video, - with options for picture effects and soundtracks.
Funny I have an HTC and I've never used Zoe. Guess I'll have to give it a whirl..
