I'v been rocking the Jiayu S1 for about a year now and I`m very happy with it.
Snapdragon 600 Quad Core 1.7GHz
5.0 Inch SHARP FHD OGS Gorilla Glass Screen
2GB RAM + 32GB ROM
Android 4.1.2 OS
13MP Rear Camera 2MP Front Camera
The problem is that the phone has not been updated ever, and I`m stuck with Android 4.1.2, does anyone know any custom roms for the device, or has anybody successfully built a CMW for the device? Phone has the same SoC as the LG Nexus 4, just a better screen and 32gb of Ram and different camera. There are plenty of roms for lower end JIayu devices, but not this one.
Does anyone know what the development status is with this phone? Should I sell it because I will never get any updates for it?

Hi! As you may have heard, Jiayu is joining the Chinese bandwagon and they will soon release their own iPhone 5-style mobile named Jiayu G5. It is rumored to have 4.5-inch HD (1280 x 720p) IPS screen (probably OGS and Gorilla Glass 2), quad core MT6589 1.2GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 13MP rear and 3MP front cameras, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. If these specs are indeed true, then Jiayu G5 would be the best iPhone 5-based Chinese phone today in my opinion, though it is slightly bigger. There is no exact date of release yet but many are anticipating its launch. What do you think of Jiayu G5?
I have this phone. Great phone with metal body (actualy stainless steel). Just correcting your write about OS version, this phone using Jelly Bean 4.2.1, and clock speed of CPU is 1.5GHz.

The newer version of the phone is named Jiayu G5S and it has upgraded specs like Octa-core MT6592 1.7GHz CPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. More specs here: http://www.chinaphonereview.com/jiayu-g5s

It seems like the G5 and G5S are both totally out of stock, or the prices are sky-high..

i do have the old version : 2013CP8320
I think i undestand why i can't unbrick this phone, The G5 do have an MT6589 and Smart Phone flash tool is asking my to load an MT6592 emmc scatter.
the problem is that i can't not use emmc for the MT6589.
i do have this error :
Chip type not match!
target chip is MT6592
load scatter chip type is MT6589.
Any idea to fix or change The target chip ?

Not so sure if this is right, but i already flash it with Cubot C10+ ROM at needrom(dot)com.
My phone is not common.. since I accidentally stupidly deleted my gallery2.apk.. and for how many weeks no one seems to care at my problem because my phone is not common... and I really need help.. its not a slow ugly phone.. its just not common for people to notice this phone.. and I really want my camera back although I dont take much selfies but I take a lot of photos about nature.. now that my camera wont work.. can someone out there have a free time finding a rom for my phone?
