s4 Car Mount with Cover & spare battery

Hi All
I have the samsung S4 and have to say I love it!
Does anybody have any suggestions for a car mount that can be used with the s-view cover open, ie: folded over the rear of the phone please?
Also what are the best spare batteries to get for it?

If you want a spare battery and charger for it, you can register your S4 on samsung's site and get 50% off accessories under 50$. Also don't know if this will help you but some people have been using the infuse dock for the S3 and I would assume the S4 but it definitely wouldn't hold with a S-view cover. How are you liking the S view cover btw?

Like the S view cover alot, very handy to be able to see time, answer calls with cover there. Never had a screen cover before but as I could do those it sold it to me!

Do you know any place that is selling a back housing for the S4, that looks like the back of the note 3?

You asking a product that non existent. Most of those manufacturers even don't know how it feels and most of them no ideas like this. Maybe in future, it really look possible because the same camera & led positions on back of S4

I've been looking for back plate replacements lately as well. I specifically want a leather one.

I don't really care if it looks identical to the official one, I just want a backplate with a better grip (without having to resort to cases.) So far I've only been able to find cheap Chinese/Taiwanese crap where the "leather" sticker starts to peel off in a week. I would've thought that Samsung releasing "faux-leather" back on Note 3 would be a kick in 3rd-party accessory market.

I haven't actually purchased any, but reviews on Amazon (1 and 2 star ones) usually tell you what to not buy.

I self-appointed myself as the guinea pig in the purchase after I found a seller, so I'm asking that no one else order one until I can confirm that it is, indeed, the real deal. I estimate that I should have the back plate by, at the latest, mid next week due to EMS shipping and by it going through customs.

Original screen glass replacement?

Hi. I cracked the glass on my S4, and cant seem to find any replacement parts on the internet which are original.
Is it at all possible to get an original screen glass, and if not - Where would be the smartest to buy an non-original if considering quality?

My kid cracked his phone as well. Went to this lil kiosk in the mall and they cost like 150 to fix. Better off going thru the asurion to get a new phone.

I'm also interested, there's no way to find any information of the screen quality on the Internet as far as I can see.
I'd like just the glass as the phone works well, don't mind trying to replace it with tutorials available.

A friend of mine actually broke his screen and found a place to buy a replacement. He has the Sprint variant... I doubt they're not compatible... I'll ask him and see what I can find!

I have replaced a glass (on a separate phone) and glass+digitizer both purchased from etradesupply dot com. Their stuff seems to be legit OEM. I recommend them.

Ah, I was wrong, he literally only needed the outside glass so.... that's why it was so cheap. Sorry!
But that site looks like they have legit stuff.

You can buy from witrigs.com. I heard it from other members who bought the replacement parts of Sony Xperia Z1 from here. It seems not bad.

Good luck. If you are doing just the glass, just remember to take your time. The adhesive on the OEM glass is quite a pain to remove but it can be done without damaging the digitizer. Slow and steady! :good:

I replaced my severely cracked screen with a $6 replacement off ebay. Slooooow, steady process to remove the original screen being stuck to the digitizer with a clear adhesive. There are several videos on youtube to demonstrate the process. The new one works fine, although it is a little more reflective than the original. The touchscreen works well, but perhaps slightly less sensitive than before. A nice touch of the new screen is that the Back & Menu buttons are now blue, which looks good and is less bright than it used to be, which is an upgrade, to me. I'd say it leaves the phone about 95% as good as as it was before I dropped it. To me, well worth it to save $170 to extend the life of the phone until the S6 or S5 Prime or LG G3 or whatever phone is a big enough upgrade to make me jump. I did have a Note 3 for 9 days and it was epic, noticeably better than the S4 in pretty much every aspect, except that it was simply too big to deal with on a daily basis. But it did give me a nice dose of the level of performance I can look forward to with my next phone.

I also broke my glass few days ago and was thinking with replacing it with the new black edition glass that has no texture, just pure black. Does anyone know where I would be able to get my hands on that glass?

If you don't want to mess with the adhesive buy the screen with the frame included. It's more expensive but much easier to replace and keep the phone in perfect condition.

Search eBay for "galaxy s4 screen frame genuine", at least if they send you a counterfeit item you can open a Paypal dispute for selling fake items.
You can buy the screen with the frame or not. I always buy with the frame.

Cost be about 65 bucks shipped. He uses the LOCA glue method (OEM style), not the double sided tape like most of the retail stores do. Sent it off and had it back within a few days. I just sent him my phone w/o battery and cover. Came back perfect in my opinion.

General question had anyone located a place to get a LEGIT back cover replacement for the galaxy s4 ? I am looking to get a new back cover for my phone but all the websites sell fakes or Chinese aluminum covers. I cannot find a place to get an original cover. Thanks much.

I don't see the official samsung online store selling fakes.

The Samsung site sells batteries buy I didn't see a back cover.

Search eBay for "genuine galaxy s4 back cover", and pay via Paypal. At least, if it's a scam, you can open a dispute for selling counterfeit items. If "genuine" does not work for you, try "oem" or "original".

this is probably the best idea. I actually have 3 of them because I've had to send my phone in so many times. They always give me a new one. I don't know why.

whenever I've had to send mine in to the carrier, they always give me a new back cover. Like I said I don't know why they do this.

You requested warranty 3 times? What a bad luck. I don't understand either why they replace the back cover. It may be necessary on the Active version, where you must assure waterproof; or if the cover allows inductive charging which has its own circuitry, but not in the normal version.

It's not a Samsung store, it is VaioLab USA. Samsung does not sell directly on third party stores like Amazon, eBay, ThePhoneHouse, etc.

I'm leery about buying anything that is not off Samsung's website anymore. I bought a "genuine" spare battery for the Galaxy S4 that turned out to be a fake. It looks different initially, so I just assumed it was a change in packaging, then the battery levels became unstable and dying extremely fast after 2 weeks. I looked online and it was similar to other fakes being sold.

Couldn't find from the Samsung site,maybe just need to get from sellers on ebay or Amazon.

OEM Qi Cover for Edge?

So as I have learned my Edge and the Note 4 share nothing but some specs, the back battery covers are different as are the batteries.
Does anyone know if there is a legitimate Samsung Qi battery cover for the edge out yet?
I can find this one for the Note 4 on their website (EP-CN910IBUSTA): http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EP-CN910IBUSTA
But nothing for the Edge. Ebay is littered with them, but I don't trust is if the samsung site doesn't have any.

Me too, but I'm highly skeptical if samsung.com doesn't have them yet... Any reason a 3rd party would have them before Samsung?
(This is my first samsung device, so have zero experience with them.)

Some of them on ebay are from Samsung . The reason is those are from Samsung Korea, which launched the device 2 months ago, so they have the cover available already

Samsung Korea site has them Those are what being sold on eBay. But for $37+$19 shipping is too steep. I'm sure Samsung US will start selling them pretty soon.

I bought one through ebay from Korea, and I can tell it works well. I am also using the Samsung Qi charger pad.

How is it working out? I have a Qi charger baked into my car and would love to have this as an option. Does the Qi back come with the Samsung Qi base?

Works great. Had one on my S5 also. It does not come with the base but you should have fiend the Samsung 50% off coupon so you can get that for cheap. I'm using the Qi from my nexus 4

Yes it's just a cover. Flip Qi is not released yet.

So I ordered the back plus pad on ebay and paid the $20 for shipping. Came in less then a week and after a full day I'm thrilled.
I picked up a qi mini from Best buy for $29 so I can have one at work and one at home.
It works great, and from all I can tell it feels OEM. Not only does the function rock, but it feels much more substantial. After having a HTC M7 and M8, this device felt really cheap. The new back cover greatly improves the form factor.
The back is slightly thicker, it's completely flush with the camera.
Highly recommended!!

Probably won't fit your car no matter what case it is. It makes it thicker. Its a hair thicker than being flush with the camera.

I know with my note 3, the only case I could use that fit like it was supposed to was a bumper case.
