[Q] Poor battery life - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all !
I've got a poor battery life (4 hours max of screen on time) with my Z3 rooted, Xposed with Androplus
My rom is stock Sony 4.4.4 .94
My governor is SmartassV2 and I/O Scheduler is deadline. Stamina always on.
Is there any app/Xposed module/Kernel settings change for optimize my battery life and keep good performances ? Auto sync is off
Where are the 2 days of battery announced by Sony ?!
By advance, thanks
Have a nice day !

It all depends on your usage. Have you tried running your phone with same setup but turning off stamina mode? try that and see if it makes a change.

My suggestions:
use a lightweight, stockish kernel
---> slim ics is a fast, streamlined ROM and coupling it with a heavily modded kernel may only burden it with unnecessary overhead, so i recommend using stockish kernels like Franco's, _thalamus', or Pete's
play with the right governor-scheduler combo that works for you
---> if you're vent on using Air, you have to try out the different combinations that will work for you. Every phone is different and your phone has its quirks and strengths. When I used Air, I used a noop-lazy combo as this gives me the best battery life and performance when I need it, but this may not be true for you. So experiment and benchmark. This is what makes Android special: the power of choice and customizability.
Cheers!
go for the air kernel weekly 4.0

+1 smartassV2/noop. New Weekly works also flawless.

What would you consider amazing battery life?
air 4.0 [Only Voodoo Colors (Original)]
with 400-1200mhz cpu freq ,deep idle on
smartassV2/ noop is not stable for my used.
have no reason, reboot random ...
try to ondemand dadeline
200-1000 cpu freq , deep idle off,
I think this is helpful

Your overclock isn't stable then.
It's a not a "per use" thing. It is just as stable as ondemand with deadline.
I had my best experience with
ondemand (lower the up threshold to ~85% via nstools, than it's smooth as butter)
200-1000 Deep Idle ON (ensure that deep idle works properly with TOP=OFF)

OrDroid 7.1.0 battery life

Hello All.
How is the battery life on the new rom ?
I have the 6.1.0 Rom and its killing my battery , any one has the same issue ?
Was trying to switch Kernel no luck ...
Honestly, best for you to judge for yourself since everyone's configurations differ.
Also, might be a bit early to tell since I don't think the ROM has even been released for a day which means most people may not have even used their phone enough to have an opinion.

Well, it all depends on how you configure the installation. What options did you choose?
For the one day that I have used Ordroid 7.0.1, I've been quite happy with the battery life.
SetCPU 1188 Max 192 min
governor ondemand
scheduler cfq
ordroid 6.1.0
Kernel 3.0.28-RCMIX
Base 11.69.3504.00P_11.22.3504.07_M
Build 1.78.401.2 CL58751
The ROM was released not very long ago. So there can´t be a right answer until now.
The Phone needs some "Complete empty" -> "Full charge" cycles to show the battery properly. A battery wipe is not the right solution.
Beside the CPU, GPU and stuff setting, lots of battery drain is caused by the synchronisation. So check if everything is really necessary.
Live background wallpaper need energy as well. So with some setup, you can bring your sensa to 1,5 days without surrender on anything.
With stock ROM it´s possible to get 2 days, but dont watch the screen to often ;-)
Well, I've figured that you can get maximum battery without much performance compromise if you configure it as:
Sweep2Wake {Yes (no capacitive backlight)} or {No}
ZRAM {No}
3DGPU Overclock {3DGPU OC disabled}
2DGPU Overclock {2DGPU OC disabled}
Governor {badass}
badass config {Balanced}
I/OScheduler {cfq}
Maxfreq {1566 MHz}
Minfreq {192 MHz}
Screen off max freq {486 MHz}
Keep the screen brightness at 35%. Switch off WiFi when not in use. Remove your HTC Sense account unless really required.
The lesser the number of accounts you have, the better it is.
Hope this helps!
Now its rebooting in a call

S4 I9500 Overheating And Heavy Battery Drain

Hello Dear XDA Users, I have been using this phone since it first came out in 2013, I only noticed this problem 2 years ago where the battery drains incredibly fast I have to charge it only 30 min after using it I also noticed that, and just after a 10min use, the area around the camera at the back becomes so hot you can't hold it (exceeds 80 degrees) I've resorted to changing the battery but it just added a new problem which is that the battery percentage when it hits 40% suddenly drops to 0%.

Good Rom for moto g xt1541 Osprey?

Is anyone here using this model, because I can't find any good ROM for it. I am currently using Paranoid but I feel small jitters here and there. Anyways, is there a ROM that is good for customizing and has fluid UI?
Lineage os 14.1

Is that rom good for customization and has a fluid ui?
And does LineageOS 14 have serious bugs?

I recommend:
Lineage OS 14.1
AOSP Extended
Stock Nougat
Resurrection Remix
You should also look into custom kernels to fix jitters. Try out some of those ROMs first. AOSP Extended (AEX Rom) is quite speedy and feature packed.
For the ROM try AEX it is a very good ROM.
Also CAF Nougat is good and has a good battery backup.
For the kernel I'd say: UD kernel (based on stock moto kernel) or firekernel.
By tweaking you can get some very good results.

After 2 days of using AOSP Extended and UD Kernel, I gotta say it has been very smooth. Little to no lag and it is really fast. Thanks for the recommendation :good:

Just curious how long does the battery last (SOT) with this configuration?
My battery backup is very good for simple stuff like texting, fb, camera, Snapchat.. (It lasts about 14h) but in battery usage it is said SOT: 2h (which is very poor actually.)

I haven't actually recorded the SOT since I was only looking for performance but I'll try that tomorrow and see. Anyways, I have never reached a SOT higher than 4h before in nougat roms (I think it was XenonHD with Firekernel) but with Marshmallow I can reach a SOT as high as 8 or more (RR with Firekernel) mainly due to Amplify and PowerNap Xposed.

Ok today I just recorded my SOT and it was 2h 19m. Though I am a heavy user (no games but music while browsing, Caustic (synth app) and networking tools (scanning and stuff)).

For a daily usage (fb, Snapchat, sms camera, portable hotspot, xda, browsing and cellular data on..., no games) I have about 4h SOT.
Though idk if it is an issue (I guess so) but I can stay about 1h with 1%...
My config is :
AEX v4.4 + UD kernel 4.0
CPU: interactive_pro 1152Mhz max, 200Mzh min
Touchboost disabled.
CPU hotplug: Alucard
GPU: Simple_Ondemand
I/O scheduler: fiops
Misc: Arch power enabled and gentle fair sleepers disabled.
I also use ForceDoze.
The temperature reaches 38°C max (100°F) (unless it is plugged) which is very good when heavy usage.

Thanks for the config, I am really eager to try it out. But was this the config that got you 2h of SOT?

It was a little different (here it may be not as smooth as the 2h SOT but enough for a daily usage)
Hi, I Was wondering whats the different between this custom kernels?
My moto G is on LineageOS 14.1, stock kernel (I think, i didn't flash anything else besides TWRP and the ROM). And for daily use i can get up to 5h 30m of SOT, so the battery practically last the entire day (like 12h of use between charges) and everything is fluid, with occasional lags when performing heavy multitasking.

Well I tried a bunch of kernels and rom and tried to figure out which one is the best for me.. Like I never got 5h SOT with lineage Os that was most likely 3h so it kinda depends on your usage. So it might depends on your usage and your phone even though we have the same model..
