I'm in the same boat. I'm in Texas and bought a SM-G900P from a friend after I ran my iPhone through the washing machine. I'm using straight talk on a cheap LG phone now, but straight talk is telling me the SM-G900P is not compatible with their network. I'm tempted to get a SIM and see if I can make it work anyway. The phone is unlocked.
How to get g900p to run on Striaght Talk
Im in the same boat. G900P that I would like to run on Straight Talk. Can anyone provide a solution?
boy am i glad that the answers posted here are wrong

I assume that in 8 mos you got this resolved. Tell me if ya didn't and I'm sure that a solution can be had. I've GSM unlocked 2 G900Ps and am currently using one on at&t via straight talk
I'm interested also I have straight talk n got a sprint s5 handed down. I'm currently using a grand prime with 8gb internal space n it's driving me crazy on lack of space for apps...

@asadnow2k, do you think you can help?
foundsoul, all you need to do is unlock your phone and change the apn settings. Theres obviously more to it, but not too much. I use MOAR 7.0 and a straight talk sim using at&t service. Its pretty darn good even if its only HSPA+

either carrier will work, but its far easier to get it working with good data speeds on AT&T. Thats what i run on my G900P and i get HSPA+ at around 11 MBPS on average. Let me know if you need any help. Here is the apn settings.

Sorry
The i535 doesn't have the radios in it to work with T-Mobile 3G or 4G.
I dont think the international version even supports 4G LTE

I'm tellin you this works man. I was leary about it at first because all I have ever heard is that its impossible to get anything but edge on straight talk with a Verison S3. Its not true. This guy knows exactly what he is doing it took about 30 min from start to finish but what he did worked perfect. No 4g but 3g works like a charm. I highly recommend this for anyone needing it. heres the link to the post.

Unsure about straight talk roms myself but as far as getting the phone to work on straight talk it's not all that complicated. I know you have to go to there website or contact them to get one of there sim cards. I'm looking into moving to straight talk myself soon, I'm tired of the high bills. As far as roms don't quote me on this but I think as long as it's bootloader unlocked you can use almost any rom that's d2lte which is basically a universal rom for all the d2=S3 us versions
And from what I've found on there website they do have 4GLte as they use verizon towers

Well the only sim card i would be able to get would be a $g sim card as CDMA phones don't use reg sim cars and i'm almost positive ST does not offer 4G through their verizon towers. I really just want to find out how to unlock it and activate it. I went on the ST website and they said to enter in the IMEI and then send an activation kit but it says not available in my area code. So im stuck atm.

So I snagged a straight talk galaxy S3. I've already got it rooted running official cm12 for the Verizon varient. Is it at all possible to get this thing to pick a verizon/page plus sim? From looking around I've come to the conclusion that the Verizon S3 is the most similar. What would be the options?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Anyone?

There is a sim slot. I actually have Verizon contract. After flashing everything an changing a few settings I have talk, text and data but its steady roaming..I wonder if I'll get charged for roaming? Anyways I'm sure if everything is working there's gotta be a way to stop it from roaming.

Maybe a modem? Been scared to try it because I'm confused as to what will cause my boot loader to lock.
Don't know why it worked but *228 just fixed my roaming problem. I thought you couldn't *228 a LTE phone? I know the straight talk S3 has 4G disabled but I'm still running a 4G LTE sim card. This is really strange lol. Never in a million years would I have thought I could get a prepaid phone running on Verizon contract. Wondering what it takes to make this phone a full Verizon phone. It runs off the Verizon towers, its running a Verizon ROM and recognizing it as a i535. What else would need to be changed? And exactly where do they disable 4G? In the modem or physical hardware of the phone? Maybe someone will help! I do not want to use this s4 anymore. Locked bootloaders kill me lol.

Well I'm making the switch to straight talk today. Hopefully cdma workshop can get 4G working. I've searched and searched and I can't find any explanation as to why or where the 4G is deactivated. by the process of elimination, I've come come to the conclusion that it has to be in the physical hardware. I'm going to try one more thing before I start tinkering with cdma workshop. I'm going to try to flash a d2lte rom to see if that does it. anyone know of a lollipop d2lte rom?

I think the issue with the straight talk S3 is indeed the hardware, they managed to remove the 4G option on this variant and the VZW prepaid version also

I'm wondering if the process they used is the same process page plus retailers used on 4G devices..because my girlfriend had a Verizon s3 that they had to flash to 3G so it can be used on pageplus..when she switched to a note 2 a few weeks ago they told her they offered Verizon's 4G coverage now and she would get it on her note no flashing required. Worked right outta the box. We took her old s3 and hooked it up for my mom. They said that it had to be flashed back to 4G so I'm wondering if straight talk flashed this phone to 3G only with flashing software..if so, is there a free program anywhere to do this? The CDMA workshop trial has never given me the outcome I was looking for.

If you are saying that you were on Verizon because you had the Verizon wireless showing in your status bar or because it said it in your phone somewhere then no you weren't on Verizon, your phone showed that stuff because it has that stuff in your build.prop, that doesn't mean you were on Verizon, the only way to actually be on Verizon is if you actually setup an account with them and activated the phone on their network. Supposedly Verizon won't let you activate a straight talk phone on Verizon account, this device is not able to carrier unlock and that's what you have to do to actually switch carriers and use your IMEI on another network. It shows SCH-I535 because of the build.prop, all of that Verizon stuff and the i535 stuff can be edited in the build.prop, that has nothing to do with who you actually have service with, that's just there because its written in the ROM.

Could you guys , anyone, tell me if you can roam on regional towers like verizon does with straight talk smart phones? I've tried selectel in the past and have had nothing but trouble thus far.
I tried activating an old droid x2 on tracfone and when I got it home it wouldn't roam on regoinal towers where verizon and tracfone dumb or feature phones will roam. I was told that tracfone android phones will only operate on verizon towers only. Since I had verizon before, and the tracfone coverage map covers my area, I assumed it would work. After a lot of back and forth travelling 45 min one way to activate on a verizon tower, and it finally did, I had zero coverage once I got about 30 minutes from home and then again none at home either. A tracfone rep as well as other forums said that tracfone androids only operate on real verizon towers, and at my home there's only regional towers.
So does anyone know if straight talk will roam on towers that verizon normally does? I know selectel did without data, voice only, at home on those regional towers, then something screwed up and it now only works on verizon towers or verizon network extenders which I don't own. Since selectel released their 4g sims, my selectel dealer said that would fix it. But no it didn't . I've been unable to get a straight answer from either selectel or the selectel dealer in my area, he originally flashed it to 3g only which he guaranteed me ws not illegal, but I wonder about that. Anyway, They can't get it fixed back properly.
If I can get a straight talk monthly plan cheap enough, I'd gladly switch as long as it roams on regional cdma towers that I have both voice and data on with verizon.
I just can't afford big red anymore, at the moment.
Thanks for any and all responses.
Nope - Straight Talk doesn't do roaming. You pay less, you get less... Don't expect ST to do OTA updates either - they won't!

No need for any OTA updates really. As a former VZW user I found out early to never take an ota from big red

What's up guys ?hopefully everyone is good!
Anyways I need some quick replies ... I am selling my Nexus 5 to a buddy of mine and he wants to run straight talk Verizon on it and I'm wondering if anyone is doing that and if it is any good .. I was gonna suggest he run the Att sim in it for straight talk but he needs the Verizon version to get service at his house.... Is anyone using the Verizon version sim for straight talk and if so can you lead me to some APN settings for that. ?... Please and thank you. Cheerz homies
No Nexus5 has CDMA radio hardware, therefore no Nexus5 will work at all on the Verizon network.
Right ?
I run mine on T-Mobile and Cricket pre-paid sims with no problem, but not my Verizon SIM. Doesn't StraightTalk have an AT&T option ? If so, the N5 should work on that.

Yes you are right... I did some research and found it won't work..... Yes I run my N5 on Straight talk ATT sim and its blazing fast... My buddy just has bad service unless his phone is on Verizon.
I bought a N6 so I'm selling my N5 to him.. Maybe I can get it to have service at his house... Fingers crossed... Thanks for the reply

I've had an N5 on ATT for a while and just got the n6p. I tried to activate it on VZW with a very good tech support person and we just couldn't. I even have a pre activated sim on another phone, popped it in but could only get LTE data and no cellular network. We were close but couldn't get the phone to call. I believe it's the radio and not anything sinister. The phone did activate on the network the tech saw it activated. Just no cell service.
