I've managed to successfully install 4.4.2 onto Rogers bell SaskTel and telus Note 3. Modem and CSC from the latest Canadians Carrier and flashed with Odin 3.09 along with TelCel (Mexican) 4.4.2 files below. Download link file in the attached file.
Follow the instructions and have a break for kit Kat.
Also good news is if you don't like to be on 4.4.2 and want to go back you can go back from the 4.4.2 to 4.3 again by just downloading the Carrier specific official Odin flash ROM. This ROM is down gradable.
Good luck all Canadians....

Yes, we already do know this works on our phones because several of us have already done it days ago, myself included. It works fine.
hey,
i opened the attached file, not able to go to the links
So essentially this gives you stock kitkat with 4.3 modem? Does it wipe data? Trigger Knox?

Just head over to this thread for more information - @shant0nu why don't you update your original post with this link so we can reduce redundancy. No point in having the same conversation in two spots.
Change title - it is not a official update
Thanks for bring it to us.
I would request you not to post incorrect information as this is not a official update. It defeats the purpose of having a forum.
Thanks

Any news for official update over OTA ?
Hi,
Has anyone received update notification via OTA or Kies for 4.4 ?
Mostly all the model have received the update so far, looks like Canadian carries are slower then the rest to push the update.
Please update.
Thanks

I think yes. I don't know as I already have knox ox1 lol.
hello i had a question
i has to install the rom from telus, becaouse if i install another, i lost the LTE capability, and i dont know why, i tried to install this rom(telcel) and i had two problems, lost of the lte capability and i was unable to activate by this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2489766), and the second problem was the network lock, so i can use on my network, anybody can help me????
I installed this sucessfully on my SM-N900W8, but with problems
Hi everyone, I installed this method on my SM-N900W8 and have successfully updated to 4.4.2 KitKat, but there were some problems:
1- My LTE doesn't work, so I've had to put up with slow data
2- My External SDHC card (64GB Sandisk) wasn't compatible for files such as music, videos, etc.
I installed 4.4.2 right when this thread was posted about a month ago and figured that since the official KitKat update was coming soon, I didn't think I'd have to put up with it for that long, but it's been a while and still we have no KitKat.
I also read that once you flash 4.4 KitKat, you cannot go back to 4.3, is that true with this method, since the 4.3 Kernel is still the same?
I would really appreciate if someone could help me out here!
(In the meantime, I'm going to try my luck with this new 4.4.2 custom ROM that was released for the SM-N900W8: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648843) (I believe shant0nu here in this thread authored this one!)
p.s. My carrier is Telus, if that matters at all.

You can downgrade back to 4.3 if you flashed the right files. Read the guide here.
Hi to everybody!
Well, I'm interested in buying this device and so I've done a research in order to get the root without activating knox counter.
I've found interesting information about the procedure and I try to explain here the steps.
Unfortunately I don't have the phablet yet and so please report your feedbacks and your opinions. Thanks.
First of all I've to say thanks to XDA member alexndr, because he found an alternative method to use Towelroot to get root and still have
knox counter to 0x0.
The keypoint of this new method is to flash the kernel package of an old firmware Towelroot compatible.
Here is the link to alexndr thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/root-root-xxufnf4-stock-firmware-knox-t2840150
And here is the link to the thread about the TAR.MD5 PACKAGER:

Besides, the latest Samsung Official firmware is here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=33969
Now, the problem is to find an old firmware with the kernel Towelroot compatible...
Please help me to find that and tell me your opinions and feedbacks..!!!

Hi!
Now on SamMobile there are 4.4.2 firmware for this device..!
Link: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Search for: SM-N7505
Are they Towelroot compatible..?!? In affermative case, we will be able to extract the kernel useful for the procedure..!
Any news? I hoped somebody has found a way to root and knox stayed at 0x0...

The AT&T D850 is TOT method only that's why there's no kdz at all. Only official lollipop you can get is to insert an AT&T sim.

You cannot update it with a tot file. As there's only KitKat. Your only way is to have an AT&T sim or root / custom rom. Or it might be possible to root and load the update file. Never done the img update file before but if it can be done it would be in the general section.

But is this a custom rom or stock rom?
How to install twrp recovery?
Even in future if any updates were released then i need to install either with sim card or flashing custom roms for my at&t model?
if you're going to go through the effort of rooting your phone you might as well install twrp which instructions you can find on these forums or even on twrp website I believe. the link clearly states that it is a stock rom. furthermore the guy was even nice enough to include his own instructions! what more could you ask for.
a little reading goes a long way. personally, I would vote to stick with a stock rom like the one linked above as it will be most stable and support all the features of the phone out of the box.
once a 6.0 rom is released for the d850 it will be real easy for you to wipe and flash that to upgrade again.
Hello,
I am planning on following a guide to root my Note 3 SM-N9005, currently running Android 5.0. My FW version is LRX21V.N9005XXUGBOK6. The guide says it is okay to flash it with Odin with a package from chainfire's official website which is based on another FW version, LRX21V.N9005XXUGBOA5, but also suitable for SM-N9005 running Android 5.0.
Could you confirm that it is really all right to do so? I do not want to brick my phone or lose data.
Much obligated.
PS: here is the guide, for your reference (URL) nasirtech.blogspot.sg/2015/12/root-n9005xxugbok6-android-50-stock-rom.html

For rooting the Note 3 SM-N9005 with Chainfire's CF-AUTO-ROOT you should solely follow the Official Thread. You will find all useful information in there as so as others users experiences. Please take your time on reading it.

You have to wait for TWRP to be updated to support the AQG5 bootloader, or install any of the AQG5 custom roms found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/samsung-galaxy-s8--s8-cross-device-development while using the AQF7 bootloader.

Plus if he's got an Exynos S8+, doesn't the S8+ TWRP already work on his phone? IF he also wants TWRP and not just root, he says. I'm not aware of any restrictions on TWRP for S8 Plus as long as he has Exynos, which he does. Yes, he's posting in the wrong forum (S8 instead of S8+), but other than that, please educate me where I'm wrong.

Besides the answers I posted for you above to root and to also install TWRP if you want, you should post over in the correct forum
Samsung Galaxy S8+

You have a Galaxy S8 Plus, not a Galaxy S8. That forum is dedicated to same device you have, and more people will be there to help you even more. But the two links I posted should help you root your S8+ and/or you can install TWRP and root. With TWRP you can also install custom ROMs.
No. That link is not valid. As of today there's no compatible TWRP with new bootloader.
"I am aware of compatibility issues related to newer bootloader.
New version of TWRP will be released soon with support to newer BLs." posted two days ago by @jesec. Are you saying that Jesec's post is not valid?

Those guides are usually just copy & paste of previous guides with updated version names and numbers. I wouldn't trust those sites, that's what we have XDA for, and if you look at the Question and Answers section you will find numerous threads of people having softbricked their device because of trying to root the AQG5 firmware. Custom firmware is the way to go right now and there are plenty of working rooted AQG5 custom roms here on XDA.
Anyway, you can't root with magisk on AQG5.

That's true you can't get Magisk by doing the CF auto root. But if you use a custom rom then you can have AQG5 and Magisk, you just have to stay on the AQF7 bootloader.

No that won't work. What you need to do is to use the TWRP update that can be found by joining the Telegram group found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...pment/recovery-twrp-galaxy-s8-exynos-t3595102
If you use the regular update you need to flash the AQF7 bootloader - boot into TWRP - flash the TWRP update - flash AQG5 bootloader with Odin. Then you are free to flash Magisk or SuperSU.
Yeah the method posted (http://www.teamandroid.com/2017/07/25/root-xxu1aqg5-android-70-galaxy-s8-plus-g955f-nougat-firmware/) does not work. Plus there's that point that says "remove battery." Why and how would you remove the battery on a G955F? I like to root and just keep it as stock as possible but this method does not work.
Also when I posted a comment on this site it got removed.
"This method failed. OEM unlock on, USB Debugging on, drivers installed. In download mode the COM does not turn yellow. When I initiate this it fails. And why would I want to remove the battery? I don't have those kinda tools to do it, you gotta be kidding."
Finally I rooted My device Sucessfully....
