Best Camera Features of the Honor 10
The Honor 10's camera is way better than other shooters in the same price range. Try these features to get the most out of your Honor 10 camera.
1. Aperture Mode
The trick to creating a great wide aperture effect is having a phone with a great camera and software that can accurately differentiate background object from foreground objects. The AI NPU chipset makes all the difference in this area. The phone's ability to identify different objects and and use the dual-cameras to recognize depth, means the Honor 10 can create extremely effective aperture mode effects. Get creative with this mode and see what kind of shots your can get.

}
2. Portrait
Portrait mode is done extremely well on this phone. If it's your first time using portrait mode, know that it's basically your phone detecting the outline of your head/body and blurring the background. The quality of this popular effect comes down to your phone being able to accurately trace your face and remove it from the backdrop.
The Honor 10's large 24MP selfie camera lets you take really detailed selfies that look amazing. Try out the portrait mode with your selfie camera and you're going to be really impressed with the results.
3. AI Mode
AI mode was the main feature advertised in this phone. Toggle it on and try it out. It can really bring out the color in some of your shots. If you don't like the way the effect looks, you can toggle it off afterwards in your galley. I have this feature toggled on at all times, since there's really no reason not to. Your original image is always preserved without the AI, so you can get rid of it later on.
4. Video Format (H.265) (H.264)
You can choose the format in which your videos are encoded. You have the option of H.265 or H.264. The H.265 option will give you a more compressed video resulting in a smaller file size. The H.264 option is a less compressed format and will have slightly higher quality video.
Go to Video > Settings > Video Size > Format. to access this option.
5. Edit Your Camera Menu
With all the different camera modes built into the default camera app, it's nice to be able to customize which modes your have quick access to.
From your camera app, go to More > Edit then you can rearrange all of your different camera modes.
hello i'm on the last update and i can't rearrange the menus like you , i can just rearrange the more menu not the basic one , i want to add monochrome camera to the main menu or a shortcut on the home screen
Hey xda forums, not sure exactly where else I could post this as this seems like a weird software bug.
The problem is the cameras; they are not working as they should. The main lens apparently does not exist, and the cameras are glitched to the point where only the telephoto lens appears on one side (with it having the ultrawide icon and apparent 0.6x magnification when in reality it is using the telephoto lens zoomed in as normal)

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
By pressing the "flip cameras" button, the flipping mechanism does not work. However, the view is flipped 180° and suddenly the ultrawide lens appears! (Disguised as telephoto lens on the app and apparent 3x zoom when it actually is just the ultrawide lens working normally). I would need to manually adjust the flip camera tool to have the camera flip out to me. Also, when taking a picture the app just crashes, and no picture is taken.
The problem also exists in other applications. Snapchat only uses the wide angle lens. However, pressing the flip cameras button does trigger the flip mechanism; a problem here is that the cameras are 180° (upside down).
When using the flashlight feature from the notifications bar, the flashlight turns on and immediately the camera flips, blinding me with the flashlight facing me lol
Anybody have any suggestions on what to do?
Things i noticed before this happened was an error message "The cameras are being used by another application. Please try later". When this message started appearing, all 3 cameras were viewable in the camera app, but when flipping the camera, the app would crash if i tried to flip with the main lens. This lasted for about a week, then the camera app degraded to what I have just described
Things I have tried are:
- Use an alternative camera, such as GCam (won't open, immediately crashes)
- Safe mode
- Factory reset
- Install TWRP and Magisk, advanced wipe and download the ROM off asus website (The ROM which my phone came with as the cameras were working normally for about a month before this happened)
- Install another version of AsusCamera (internet or make backups of system/priv-apps/AsusCamera onto an SD Card and then install)
None of these seem to work. If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
I've bought a media remote like the one below that is traditionally used for cars with compatible bluetooth, as it sends keys like volume up/down, next/previous, play/pause.
I would like to get more out of that remote for the Camera app: volume buttons do take a picture so that is covered, but I would want to map the following:
- Play pause button to switch to front camera
- Back/Fw buttons to switch camera modes.
I tried doing this with MacroDroid, I mapped swipe left and right to switch modes, it works in other apps, it does not work inside camera app, it just re-opens the camera app. I believe MacroDroid does not have access for UI interaction when Camera app is opened.
Can anyone give me another solution that I could use to re-map media buttons (cancel original command) so i can controll camera? What am I missing?
