i owe moto g first gen 5.0.2 upgraded,rooted and bootloader unlocked..what if i unroot my device and re-lock the bootloader , will i be able to update my device to 5.1officially?
You should be okay if you are running the stock recovery, no root, and updated Motorola Services app.

i hv installed TWRP recovery..so that means i have to install/flash whole stock firmware to get stock recovery in order to get official update?

You can flash the recovery alone. You'll be able to get ota update, this is assuming you're unrooted and system is not altered in anyway.
You don't have to relock your bootloader either.

You'll have to find the stock recovery image and flash it. It'll be inside the stock package here

Then use fastboot to flash it

You need to download a stock ROM and it will contain a recovery.img file. Stock ROMS are here

From the extracted factory image from here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=nl. Extract with 7-zip or similar.

That's pretty much it. There may be the odd security fix or something here and there but they're not covered by change logs so we'll likely never know

Yes fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
But TWRP can flash recovery.img itself. Switch to IMG instead of ZIP in the Install menu.

What is your bootloader version? It should be HHZ12h if you are running Android 5.1.1. It can create issues if you still have an old one.

i was am able to update ota to 11.0-xnp44s .
but not above that is goes in to bootloop that fades purple.
i am now on stock recovery.
i did flash other kernel but don't remember witch and now back to stock

Yes I did , but still the same problem .
I tried I few ROMs and they had the same problem but one .

Flash any rom with fastboot again without change twrp
Boot to recovery and select terminal
Type
ls -l /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/
And take screenshot all text holding simulate volume- and power button
Post the result
