I heard that on the Edge, in the mode you can put it in where a little clock lights along one of the edges, the whole screen is actually on a really dark shade of grey instead of pure black. Has anyone tried something like Dash Clock in Daydream while charging? Does it look like a OLED should? I.E., no light at all from anywhere except the pixels that aren't black?

does anyone know if its possible to adjust the back light dimmer lower than stock. I have tried the various programs that shade the LCD to make it seem dimmer, but they don't work the way I like. I want to use my xoom as a night clock, but unfortunately I can't get it dim enough. My Sony alarm clock has an LCD display that dims the back light in night mode to where you can barley see it. But in a dark room its perfect. All the other programs available just shade the LCD, but you can see the back light seep through and it keeps me awake. If anyone has a solution that can work on my xoom I would be grateful.
Thanks
Well nook app dims lower than normal while reading.

You could try the app Screen Filter from the market. It allows you to set a %.
Hello!!!
Is your screen has pure white colors with a little of bluish tint or a maybe yellow one? Is the white color cold or warm? You can check and see the screen tint if you open the stock lg calculator and look on the top part (the screen where the numbers are written)
Thank you!!!
Yellow here.
mine too I had LG G2 before and it had pure white tone... I prefer the cooler tones. I would like to see more answers....
yellow for me too. Actually, the hue shifts when you place it on a table or so, then spin the unit slowly. It's making me nuts
so all the units of g pro 2 have yellow tint?
yea me too but i love the screen it is great
well if you follow the OP and use the calculator app, and look at the "top part where the numbers are written"... then yes, everyone will be yellow, since the app itself is a yellow/green colour at the top. the bottom part where the numbers you press are, it's a grey colour.
I'm not sure how that is a reliable method to check screen tint.
surely, you'd use turn the brightness to 100% then use the LG "hidden menu" screen test to bring up a white screen to see if it's got any tint? which, when I do, is a pure white screen. no hint of blue/cool colours/yellow.

on my lg g2 the top part of the calculator was grey and not yellowish. the app itself is light grey on the bottom and darker grey on the top.
Is it possible to adjust the white balance or something else in the displaysettings?
Yo can anyone fill me in on this ^ I watched loads of reviews but not one person goes into detail about it, Ino Notification lights aren't anything new so it makes sense they wouldn't mention it but what about the people who are new to Sony phones. Samsung is all I no mostly the note series.
Anyone who owns the phone up for making a quick video on the Notification LED? I'm mainly interested in what colors it can be because on my current phone (Note 3) it can only be Red, green and Blue and i think White. but apps like light flow let me mix these colors together to create new colors. However the new colors dont look very good. Years ago I had a Sony walkman phone it wasn't Android but it lit up at the sides when I got a notification and it could be all kinds of colors, real colors! It was well cool. I'm hoping the Z3 LED will be just as cool.
Hopefully that made dome sense.
Haven't got the time to make a video but I installed lightflow lite and created a custom notification setting.
Sure enough the led tries to match the settings I choose under custom color (although not 100% accurate but still).
The notification led on this phone is pretty small, especially compared to the nexus.
Hope that helps.
..via Z3
I haven't paid too much attention to the led but i have seen it green, blue, and i think amber also
Notification LED is a full color LED, color rendition is so lala, not too precise.
Especially white has a bluish tint.
Cheers everyone
On my Nexus 5 I have a slight lightbleeding on the top of the screen. It goes all the cross the top. Have anyone seen this on their device?
The weird thing about it is, that it is almost invisible when the topbar is black, but very much visible when the topbar is e.g. blue, red, yellow, …
I'm not even sure what it is, maybe it is just a nocebo effect, I think it is there so it is and it is annoying the hell out of me.
I attached a photo of it, It was made next to a window with low backlight.
Light bleed
Does anyone notice that the dark colors especially grey get significantly brighter when using 90hz compared to 60 hz. It's very annoying and can be seen when using the dark mode on WhatsApp or the dark mode of the phone and pulling down the notification shade. The greys become way too bright and the display seems washed out:crying:
Grey looks normal to me, Oxygen 11 has more grey element which i personally like
