u have ur answer, its a hardware problem, "sounds" like the audio chip is bad, new mobo required

problem solved ( voodoo magic??? )
So first of all i would like to tell you how my problem started.
First of all, my phone was rooted with kinguser.
I was answering calls and in most cases i couldn't hear anybody. That day my i727 was out of power due the empty battery. I left it to charge over the night and in the morning when i tried to power it on, only at&t logo was on the screen and mobile freeze on that point. I didn't want to hard reset because of all the contacts in phone, so i tried to power on about 100 times. I lost patience and hard reset it. After that same problem persisted, phone freezes on at&t logo. I was on a trip so i tried many more times - pull battery, power on, press power button long time, power on, and on and on. After about hour of trying my phone started but again without sound. I tried to plug in phones but it didn't help. tried to play music, restart, install new players, set the sound level nothing helped.
I pulled out my old htc wildfire for use, and took i727 for taking pictures and things like that. I bought bluetooth earphone, and that solved problem, but i wasn't satisfied. I bought new speaker ( about 4 bucks ) and installed it. Unfortunately that didn't solved problem.
I was using my i727 for about 2 months only for camera and games. In that time i tried to put stock firmware to solve problem. That also didn't help. I read on this forum how to put custom rom and i tried. I am not so expirienced so i had many problems, i didn't manage to do that in first place. Tried with odin, CM10 and few custom roms, but failed every time. I thought that 40 bucks it too much for new mobo.
Two days ago i downloaded android 5.1.1, twrp 2.780 and gpapps. i followed steps and manage to install android 5.1.1 on my i727. On first power on android logo ( red green and yellow ball on startup ) looped in infinity. I reset phone with power button and on second time, android was updating. Phone started and new android 5.1.1 was up. First i tried if there was sound, but with no luck. Day after i installed some game, and after few hours of playing, phone turned off because battery was empty. i pluged charger, power on phone and went out. 5 hours later phone was still on startup logo bubbling. I tried to take battery, and power on, again infinite loop on android logo. i tried to reset with power on button, but on power on infinite loop again. I didn't want to lose my save in game so i tried to reset, and try, and try, and after many attempts finnaly phone started, and updates was applying. I waited for updates to finis, and phone started. i put my phone on table, and in few seconds viber ring. i read the message , and after that i realised that my phone had sound again! today is second day with sound. Still don't know how that worked out...
I hope that helps

two days after, my battery went out, and after recharging, there was no soun again

[Q] Stuck on HTC boot logo

Help guys, I just randomly restarted my TITAN to brag about my startup speed (she has a GS2), luckily she went in to get some water. I had updated it with the most recent HTC update two days ago, no problems there. Was developer unlocked without any hacking. I've tried re-rebooting it. It's not booting to recovery with the camera button down too. Theres an option to factory reset if I hold down the volume buttons on boot, but I really want that to be my last option, if it even works at all. Please tell me theres something I can do about this ... my heart is breaking!
try pulling the battery out and then restarting?
Moved to Q&A
Eh ... I did that, heck, i've even let the battery run out too. Plugged to my computer and it shows the charging icon. After a bit, it reboots (expectedly) and gets stuck at th logo all over again. I'm at my wits end. I really don't want to reset it; whether its all my precious data thats preventing me from doing it - or the fact that if it still doesn't work afterwards i'm totally screwed, I don't know.
//Sorry for posting in the wrong forum
Phew. So after about 6 hours of random button holding, battery pulling and facepalming, I decided to factory reset the phone. Funny thing is, as I rebooted and held the volume buttons, the download mode screen popped up! Luckily, since I had just updated the phone about two days ago, not only do I have a restore point, but its a recent one too! So glad.
Now the question, was it the update that caused this problem? I noticed that the OS version remained at 7720 after the update, didn't know what the BL/radio version were previously. Any TITAN owners care to chime in?
I had this exact problem with my Titan just a few weeks ago. I didn't have a restore point unfortunately. But had to go through the whole reset process

[Q] Motorola RAZR HD XT925 Doesn't Start (Blinking Green LED)

Hello. I have problems with my device, a Motorola Razr xt925 HD. It doesn't start, it just keeps the green led blinking when connected to wall charger, and when I plug the USB, makes a sound of a new device detected but only for a few seconds then it makes a sound of an unplugged device, and so on. It doesn't respond to any combination of buttons. I let it charging overnight, even though the battery was nearly full before this happened. Don't know if this is relevant but before this happened, I was going to flash stock Retail Brazil firmware by fastboot and got a flash failure. I turned it off and then it wouldn't turn on again. I never had this happened, I had problems but I always solved them all. Not this time hopefully you guys can help me or tell me what it could be, because I doubt it was the battery. I leave you a video showing my case.
i dont know for certain but the only time i see that green light is when battery is ou and i put it to chrge. Could your phone be in apfastboot and can t charge. It is a bit of a tough situation to troubleshoot.
Did you try keys combo to put it in fastboot, and test it by flashing
or maybe use rsd lite see if it shows you device connected? maybe then you can flash stock
i am sure there are other possibilities, let s hear from you
There's no way to enter in Fastboot by key combos and RSD lite doesn't show my device :/ maybe I need a factory cable, just in case that the battery is empty. I need more suggestions please
me paso lo mismo
did you find any solution?
im having this problem after i start using KK 4.4.2 seems like the phone go to sleeping mood by it self while my screen is locked so i have to keep clicking at power and volume up and down to restart the device now im looking for an update or a fix for this problem, another problem is the device WIFI do not catch my house signal while im away 10 feet from the house the software have bugs
I've been using CM 11 (KK 4.4.4) with no issues. This is a flash problem or maybe the battery. My phone is still dead btw I see that two more people are having the same problem here... we need a solution please.

keep trying to revive my device.
I'm going through the same thing. When I plug it into my pc , under device manager it shows "Human Interface Device" then it unmounts itself then remounts itself then unmounts. Over and over..... I've even replaced the battery.
I was running stock rom with just root, phone was working great. phone rebooted, screen never came back on but when i connect it to my computer it sees it in adb..........
Any advice would be great.

This thread for the droid Ultra might interest you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-ultra/general/droid-ultra-maxx-brick-recovery-t2830806
There is some discussion of the Razr HD in this thread. It looks like someone with an unlocked device would need to dd their bootloader partition for this method to work.
A few years later .... Any solution? rsrsrs
any update on this scenario?
i have this situation too and the time could give us an answer, i am searching again, i took my device to some 'phone repair stores' and in less than 5 minutes they told me that the phone was dead, but i have my last doubts
Just to add an update here
I ended up with the Green light only and blank screen after trying to fix a battery issue, despite getting a number of batteries my phone wasn't accepting the batteries.
I remembered a battery issue a long while back, so went to reflash my phone to see if it resolved it.
I ended up with the green light and blank screen and no matter what buttons, it would just make a noise then keep rebooting.
I ended up using the Unbrick bat file.
RSD Lite was briefly showing a Medfield device of something starting with Med, but since the phone kept rebooting I couldn't reflash it again.
I did the Pwr and Vol down and as soon as I saw the device, I clicked the UnBrick bat and it managed to get my Moto logo up.
I then booted to Fastboot mode and reflashed and my phone is back,
See this link for the UnBrick, but when you do it, you have to be fast to catch it while the device is seen, otherwise the phone reboots after 4s or soo.

Well do not think that this thread is one among others. It's my experience when i messed up with my Razri. I wish I had this before, so I'm sharing it with you ! Every has his experience and a way to do it, so this is mine First I searched...

Damn phone stuck in bootloop!

Came home from work yesterday and the Pure XL was dead, said it needed to be charged. Never happened before but I figured whatever and plugged it in and went to sleep. Woke up this morning and powered on the phone and the all white BLU splash screen came up and then the phone went off. Came on again and the all white BLU splash screen came up and went off. Ive tried holding down the power button for over a minute. Tried holding the power button and volume keys to boot into recovery from 10 seconds to 2 minutes, nothing stops it! It just keeps rebooting. This has been my apprehension towards purchasing phones with non removable batteries. The boot recycle happens about every 15 seconds and the phone vibrates everytime it boots up for the past 2 hours. Its getting very annoying and there is no way to make it stop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Plug it into your computer (you'll notice that there will be a longer black screen in-between the bootloops) and hold down the power button for at least 10 seconds or more, then release it after the next vibration and the white BLU screen shows up. It might take a couple of tries.
If you manage to boot into at least recovery but can't boot into the system, then try clearing your cache/dalvik cache and try rebooting into system again.
If all of the above doesn't work for you, then your boot.img/system has gone bad, and you'll have to flash the stock images with SP Flash Tool (both of which can be found on other posts on this forum).
follow the instructions on the SP flash tool thread... sounds like what happened to me after bad flash... theres a lot of information in that thread that will set you up...
Thanks for the quick replies guys. The PC trick didnt work at all. I just called BLU and asked for a replacement(havent heard back from them ironically). I put the phone in the basement so I wouldnt have to deal with that incessant buzzing every 15 seconds. Eventually the battery died. Since I had it powered off finally, I plugged it in for about 10 minutes to give it enough of a charge to power on but not stay on to buzz for another 2 hours. This time I powered it on using the master reset button combo and was finally able to wipe the cache and restart the phone. Took a good 4 or 5 minutes to boot after that, but everything has been fine since. Really dont know what initially caused the issue, never happened before. Good thing too, cause BLU told me that they would send me a RMA within the hour and I still havent heard from them. Think this will be my last BLU phone. Thanks for the assist.
My phone Is stocked without root or Twrp. And I find my self having a bootloop once a month for an odd reason. This forces me to take bat out and put it back in or just let it loop til battery dies

My phone is basically out of the box and I'm getting boot loop problems when I first boot. This happens like once a month
Sent from my PURE XL using XDA-Developers mobile app
This happened to me for first time yesterday. Bought the phone earlier this year and everything worked fine. I restarted the phone because my sound recorder app froze up twice on open and the infinite boot started until the battery died. Tried the {power}{vol up} thing, didn't work to stop it, so I put it in my car and went back to the conference I was attending. Battery was dead when I got out. Contacted BLU by phone and they started a ticket for me, but I figured I'd see if other people were having this issue and learn what they did because I'd rather not be out of a phone for however long it takes for BLU to replace mine. Stumbled on this page. I never rooted my phone. And BLU only sent one wireless update since I've had the phone. I'm trying to get into the menu by connecting to the computer. Worked the first time, I cleared cache, and tried to backup my files, but I'd taken out the SD card in expectation of sending it to BLU. So, Powered off the phone, put the card back in, and now I haven't been able to get the menu back. Still working on it, if there are any suggestions anyone drops on me before Tuesday when I'll likely ship it (or at least hope to because I'll be yelling at them Monday), I'd appreciate it.

I tried to flash the phone, but the bootloop apparently wouldn't allow that. I had 0.0% progress after 3 hours. I then tried to go back into the menu you get from {Power}{Vol UP}: still no go. So, I started to take the phone apart again to get ready for shipping. The battery was still low so it didn't take long for it to die after I unplugged it from the computer. Out of curiosity, I tried to repeat finding the menu like I did earlier that day (conditions were that the phone had no charge when I connected it to the computer, and my SD card was removed.) No go. But, then I hit {Power}{Vol Up}{Vol Down} just to see what happened, and boom. My phone loaded up. No loop... Figured somehow the files had copied and the status bar was wrong. Turned the phone off, put my SD card back in and turned the phone on. Loop reappears ...I waited for the phone to die again, took out the SD, attempted to turn it on and the loop was there. Connected it to the computer and hit all 3 buttons, and the phone loads up. So, now I'm confused. Is there any way that the problem is some crappy connection to the SD?

Stuck in a bootloop, but I didn't do anything to my phone

Hello, Nexus 5 forums. This is my first post on here, because I never even tried to root or install a custom ROM on my Nexus 5, having bought it for the official updates from Google and all that stuff (I had a Galaxy SII before this phone, and I frequently visited the XdaDev GSII forums because I installed CyanoGenMod on it).
I'll go straight to the point. My phone suddenly started rebooting randomly today, and by the end of the day it was stuck in a weird kind of bootloop. The Google logo would pop up, and right as the MM boot animation started the phone would reboot and the Google logo would show up. Right now, the phone's battery is probably dry, so that's why the phone isn't bootlooping, but it has done so for 3-4 hours before shutting down. I tried opening the phone, removing the battery and putting it back in, but the phone just kept bootlooping. I tried both getting into the stock recovery and into download mode, but the phone keeps on rebooting as soon as I get into download mode.
Can I do anything to fix this or is my phone doomed to the eternal bootloop?
Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
Sounds like there may be a problem with the power button.
Same thing happened to me like 5 times now. It is the power button. What I do is knock it on the side of a table below the power button. I just need it to last until the new nexus is released, so I never investigated the proper fix.
I understand, so my problem is more a hardware than a software issue. I tried knocking the phone on the side of a table like @NicksSpleen said, but maybe my problem is more serious. What can I do to fix this? I need it to last until Christmas, as I'm going to get a new phone then (maybe the Nexus Sailfish, if the price is acceptable).
EDIT: Double post.
I disassembled my phone and fixed the problem by cleaning the power button. Works like a charm. Thanks for all your suggestions!
Anything other than the power button?

NEXUS 5 completely dead

Hi there, my google nexus 5 has completely dead. Yesterday i was using my phone and it shutdown itself. Now i'm not able to charge or turn on the phone. No bootloop, no logo, no sound, nothing... If i connect the phone to pc windows is not able to recognize the hardware, no windows sound, no bootloop on the phone, no life signal. There is any way to fix the problem? Thanks
Try opening the phone, disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnect battery, connect to a charger and look for a flashing red led. Don't try to turn on the phone during this process.
I opened the phone, when i connect a charger i can hear something like an imperceptible click noise... and the logic board become hot:crying:
I had this issue recently. The phone was not turning on like you mentioned.
I was able to enter recovery mode (hold power + volume down for few seconds)
Once in recovery I wiped cache. Now the phone turns on.
I still get sudden restarts with heavy use. But at least the phone turns on now.
I took the phone to a phone repair kiosk. He told me he had 3 customers complaining of similar issues with their Nexus 5 and that he was unable to fix it.
I'm with Rogers, latest firmware, stock, locked bootloader.

one day we will discover google has been killing older phones with updates once pixel was released, lel. jkjk
I just talked to LG Customer service. He told me the whole logic board needs to be replaced. Which would set me back $150+tax and downgrade my storage to 16Gb. No thanks.
I was hoping for a workaround, like installing a custom kernel with specific settings.
I have already tried factory reset, switching to LineageOS, removing sim card. Nothing helped.
Underclocking with Elemental X Kernel seems to be the best workaround so far.
