I have a HTC One M8 International Unlocked and on 5.0.1 Lollipop, so how do i root because all the threads i find are from last year and i don't know if anything changes because of lollipop, so could someone direct me to the right thread?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I'm not familiar with this specific device, but usually for HTC devices you just need to unlock the bootloader at htcdev, install a custom recovery, and flash SuperSU to gain root.

Hello everyone,
I am looking for help with my HTC M8 I am running custom Rom Venom. I would like to upgrade to the newly released Verizon 4.4.4. However since I have TWRP this is not happening. I also used sunshine to achieve unlock and S-off. So my questions are
1) What is the best way to flash back to stock or do I want to ?
2) If a flash to stock will I loose what sunshine gave me ( unlock & S-off )
3) Can I do a manual flash of the OTA
Thanks in advance everyone !! Love this Forum XDA !!

There are plenty of 4.4.4 roms you can flash in the development section...just make sure you update your firmware first. Super easy to do (much easier than returning to stock to take OTA).
Read the OP in this thread carefully and you'll have what you need.

What's going on guys. I bought this unlocked att htc one m8 a couple of days ago and was hoping to switch the cid/mid to T-Mobile. However, while I did get the boot loader unlocked along with rooting it, sunshine keeps saying error and makes me exit. Can anyone help? I'm currently running an insertcoin rom could this possibly be the issue?
P.s. Ever since I flashed insertcoin, I haven't been able to flash any other roms. So if anyone could also help with that it would be a big help!
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Your best option here is to use the live support on the Sunshine site.

How do I root my HTC Desire 620 on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat? I've tried a lot of things to try and root it but I can't find anything about it, any answers would be appreciated
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. The process for HTC devices is usually to go to HTCdev.com and unlock the bootloader, from there you can flash a custom recovery and flash SuperSU to gain root.

Hi everybody!
Sorry i'm new on XDA even though you guys helped me a lot with my previous phones. I'm now with an HTC One M8 running ViperOne M8 (rooted Android 4.4.3 with TWRP and unlocked Bootloader but S-ON). I'd like to go back to stock android, even without root option so i can upgrade to the newest Lollipop version. I've read that because of S-ON i can't update the firmware, which is what i'm supposed to do according to Viper's Forum... I tried using official RUU but it didn't work... Can someone help me out with this?
Thanks a lot in advance

I have the HTC Desire 626s that came out here in the US on T-mobile yesterday. I have unlocked the bootloader via the htc dev tool succesfully. What is the first step in gaining root access on this device?
Do I need to try and port a custom recovery or is there an easier way?
Thanks
Hello there,
You've already asked this question HERE, so i guess this is useless now
Good luck with rooting! Thread Closed.
