I have to restart my phone several times a day as video playback (all local and online video) and YouTube derps out! It simply wont play anything. I have tried to disable the NuPlayer option I developer setting but no dice.
Am I the only one with this issue?
Thanks

The Youtube Apps stopped working on my Nexus One. I have the stock rom. I ask my friend to test his and his does not work either. He is using Cyanogen mod 5.0.5. Is anyone else having a problem using the Youtube App? Is there a fix for this? Thanks.
Works fine here.
Think you could be a little more specific about the issue? Saying it doesn't work doesn't tell us anything at all.

Sorry about that. When I try to view a video with the youtube app it opens, but nothings plays in the beginning. Sometimes the audio plays, but you see no video. If you skip forward, you will see the video stopped and the audio continues to play. I sometimes receive the error message: "Sorry, this video is not available". I have tried this using wifi and 3G with the same result. This also happens to videos I used to be able to play using the browser. Everything worked fine about a week ago. It seemed to just stop working all of a sudden.
Fine here (UK) on Wifi and as a bonus I just watched the chatroulette piano guy that was featured and it is brilliant so thanks for getting me to test so I could see that

in my experience, that happens when the video isn't formated (or format isn't available) for mobile screen/in mobile format/whatever.
nothing is wrong with the youtube app itself.
My problem with the YouTube app is that it often takes 'forever' to start playing the video! In fact, sometimes it will never start.
Somewhat embarassing when my wife's iPhone 3G can get to the same video and play it immediatly....
Have you tried watching in High Quality instead?
I have the same problem but in a different app, Tubedroid where downloaded videos can't be seen even though I can hear it. Turns out I can't download videos in HD, only high quality.

I hate this also. I pretty much gave up on YouTube which is crazy because you would think Google would support their own software the best.
Yeah, on stock youtube takes foorrrrrever to load up a video, even on a wifi connection. Oddly enough, the version that comes with Modaco's Desire ROM loads 'em up right fast. Weird.
I don't watch much video so I'm not sure when this started but if I watch a video on youtube, twitch, facebook etc the audio and video do not sync up.
I have tried clearing the cache on apps, uninstalled all updates on the apps, turned off the JBL sound but nothing has fixed this issue. Has anyone else heard of this issue before or had it happen to them?

Nope.

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but Google Play Movies is having an audio/video issue: the audio will drop out for several seconds (the video keeps playing) and then the audio will kick back in. This cycle repeats throughout playback.
If I watch a movie from Chrome on the device, it plays fine. I've also noticed this same issue with the Flixster video app, but the Vudu app seems to work fine.
I have the DAV-703L model (non-root) with the latest 026 update. I actually have 2 of these phones (one gold and one silver) and I can reproduce this on both phones.
Anyone else experiencing this?
UPDATE:
Solved the issue by going into Developer options and disabling NuPlayer in favor of AwesomePlayer.
I recently installed a Nougat ROM (Specifically this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/orig-development/wip-aosp-nougat-nexus-5-t3446875) and after I did the youtube app has started acting up. Now after about a minute of video playback the video freezes, but the audio keeps playing. This happens for all videos and I can't find a way to make it stop. Before anyone asks...
-Yes, I tried flashing the file from the FAQ section of the post that contained the ROM.
-It isn't an internet problem. I've used the same internet for years and nothing's changed. It's been fine up till now (For reference, I'm getting 8mgps down and 28 up atm)
I use YouTube on my phone a lot, so getting this to work is important to me. Thank you for any help you give and for your time.

I had a similar issue. Try either updating it or downgrading the app. Downgrading worked for me

I tried this. Sadly, it didn't work. I've since switch to AOSPA and everything is fine over there. I'll come back around when this ROM is further developed.
I have the same issue, you could fix it?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+. I have videos I downloaded off YouTube. I play them in my car via Bluetooth. Let's say I am playing a video, then I switch to radio, then I switch back to the video. It skips every 1.5 or 2 seconds unless I stop and re-start the video (or switch to a different video).

Hi,
can you please collect a bug report from MX Player help menu immediately after the issue? It will help us to understand the issue better.
Does it happen with all decoders?
I have a galaxy s7 edge and I'm having the exact same issue. It's almost like either the file is becoming corrupted or the player is.

I will try what you suggested, because my other post I mentioned to audio lag. So lemme try HW+ and I'll let you know about the bluetooth lag and if this problem comes back up I'll get a bug report.

Thanks in advance. It will be more better if you can collect the complete system logs by using logcat.

Okay.. the file still skips on HW+. It's only when changing my car's input to something else like radio then back to bluetooth. If I turn the car off and back on the video resumes where it left off and plays fine.
As it was skipping I captured a bug report, but not sure where it saved the file. The location went away too quickly for me to see.
Also, I've never used logcat. I can certainly download it. Is there some commandline thing to enter to get you the exact info you need?

If you have collected the logs through the bug report option, It will be saved as a zip file (report_YYYY-MM-DD_HHMMSS.zip) on the parent directory of the internal storage. You can just share the file here.
And, Yes. For collecting the complete system logs through logcat, you have to enable usb debugging on your device & need a computer to collect the logs through logcat tool. You can find more detailed information on http://mx.j2inter.com/report-an-issue. Hope it will help you to get it done properly.
