Hi everybody.
I've owned A LOT of Android devices, i think this phone will be my number 22 Android phone through time
I've also tried Iphone 3G back in the days (BVADR..), and a couple of Windows Phones..
Bluetooth music streaming in both Windows Phone and Iphones, are really good. It is so good actually, that i don't even bother putting in my AUX cable, because i can't really hear a great difference.
On any Android i tried (not with CM10 back in the days), there is clearly a quality downgrade! It must be something that bother others as well??
Now i know that the Bluetooth music streaming in Android is, well the most unacceptable piece of sh..t that ever was produced , but it bothers me that the only Rom that fixes this, and keeps fixing it, is CyanogenMod. Don't get me wrong, i really like CM 10, 11, 12, but i like Sony's "skin/template" a Little bit better, and would like to keep using that.
I have however reached a point now where i will do just about anything to fix the bluetooth music streaming in my new car. So i will, if i have to install CM12 on my Z3 and Loose a lot of the great features (camera) just for the bluetooth fix.
Before i do it though, isn't there a developer in here that knows where to fix this in general for the Lollipop release? It would be really great to have a BitPool fix, where we can overwrite some system files, or install a zip in recovery, or a Little app that could set the BitPool easy for us..
I'm not a developer but do Work in the IT businness and will of course be able to be beta tester or help in any way that i can!
If a developer can even pinpoint me to which files i need to change, i can go ahead and root my Z3, and do it myself. Would even put in a nice PowerPoint guide (and i'm really not the PowerPoint guy ), so that others can do it too.
Please help a frustated Android bluetooth user
this isn't development and should be in the Q&A section, i've reported this so a mod can move it to the appropriate place
All right thank you. I hope that developers look in the q&a section then

Saw this sorry-lookin' thread over at the "unofficial official" MyGig site- http://mofv.com/mygig/BBS/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2022
So, does anyone own one of these and have the skills to attempt such a port? Looks like the thing runs QNX stock.
I wish someone could, that would be amazing to have an android based touchscreen interface in my jeep.
Android?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I would second this and definitely help beta test any ports...
Damn - this would be nice.
I have one of the radios w/o GPS, would be sweet to get android running and be able to use the GPS and data off my phone.
Has there been any news on this? Or has anyone found an Android based system that would be able to do everything MyGig can - GPS, Sirius radio, etc.?
so sad I would really like this too. I am stuck at stopping point on MYGIG because it won't read from the music directory or can I add any mp3s to , everything else is working tho. hard drive is tested fine....i even copied to a new drive and it still doesn't work
I am in the process of researching the best way to take my old 3g slide and build a very light bootable ROM from CM source for mp3/media, wifi & apps only. I figured instead of trying to figure this out on my own maybe I could open this thread for discussion.
The idea is to take a CM supported device and tweak it into a mp3 player with wifi and the apps market but remove/disable all phone related activity to preserve battery and have the phone look, feel and function as a media device and not as a phone. This ROM should have no phone.apk, should not have an active radio...but preserve wifi, media playback and the app market.
The UI should look like an MP3 Player!
I have a few ideas on how to achieve this but I wonder if I am making harder than need be. I would really like to hear unique/fresh ideas, potential problems and general advice from the community. I will keep this post up to date with ideas and status and eventually it will serve as a guide.
So lets here it;
How you would go about doing this?
What can be removed?
What needs to stay?
etc....?
Ashamed there have been no replies. This is something I have been looking for, for a while.

With some words:
So can anybody tell me either a) why is BT HID so 'rubbish' on Android, ie why is it so rare that anybody seems to have got it to work e.g "Look. It's a massive problem, nobody really knows how to do it. Count yourself lucky that you've got found a GB build where it does work at all. Put the problem down and walk away"; or b) what a solution might be?
I've tried rooting round in builds, until I'm blue in the face but unless the *.so file either has a BT and or an HID in the file name, then I'm in the dark.
qazzi76 ; GregórioAxiaMagno and sergiocabraljr have found various solutions for GB builds I think and I know Samsung seems to have solved the problem. (I've seen videos of the Galaxy Nexus and it worked with no problems on an SII a friend of mine has).
Could it simply be a case of isolating and extracting the magic HID file and putting it into any/all custom roms, or it's a case (for some just to make it harder reason) that the BT files have to be recompiled for each and every build; as GregórioAxiaMagno has kindly pointed out with some of his work.
The holy grail I suppose is a set of files that can be uploaded to any build by apt, that resolve the lack of BT keyboard with every/any build.

The point here is, as always I say, the bluetooth stack on Android is a issue like call recording. And with this cenario, I think we can join people to help on this thread to post information about mods, replacements, hacking, apps and more. Until we find the optimal solution for the largest number of phones what we can. :fingers-crossed:
All is valid: kernels, modules, CWM, apps, tips, pray... any way of help.
I will ask for you people to post solutions here, and along of the time I will quote it in the second post of this thread.
Also, I want discuss with you about an optimal solution.
So keep this thread clean and focused only about bluetooth.
No, I and nobody thinks what the bluetooth is the world conquest, I want only use the totally potential of this "old" tecnology.
I know we have other tecnologies like OTG, but this thread must be only about how to deal with bluetooth in our daily use and experiences.
Lets start! :highfive: I have your help?
Please, press thanks instead to manifest your support with posts.

Solving Bluetooth connecting problems
My Desire's bluetooth allways worked like a charme untill rooting REDUX 1,2
Connecting to any previously known device, or any new once for that matter, did not work.
Some grey hairs, upgrading to Redux 2.0 and many tries later I concluded some data must be corrupted somewhere.
Deleting the content, not the files, just the content of the following files did the trick, much to my relief.

HID Bluetooth Device FIX for 2.3.5 and 2.3.6!!
Like many of you I was extremely excited to learn that android now supports HID devices and immediately rushed out to purchase a HID-BT Keyboard. Getting home, I fired up the phone and keyboard, entered the 6 digit code to pair them and saw the device connecting and disconnecting in an infinite loop. I was crushed and disappointed.
What went wrong? As stated above this is merely a workaround. But the problem lies somewhere between the kernel and broadcom chipset. This fix will reset your bluetooth pairings. It has been tested on my Samsung Galaxy SII I727 but it should work with any other device.

Congratz... keep going
Looking here:
/data/misc/bluetoothd/<A BLUETOOTH ADDRES>
I was thinking one of this files have a value to set for make an device manually connectable. Like disabling/enabling auto connect. So the market apps to HID devies will work better.
What do you think?
I was messing into the system and looking at this path
system\etc\bluetooth
Inside, we can found some confs, so I was editing and guessing about input.conf.
So I made some mods and I will test today, but if anyone know something more about or want to test, please a hand will be cool xP.
Regards.
EDIT: yeah nothing changes... haha
Hello Guys!,
I've got a problem with my Custom Rom on my Xperia S
Everytime, I'm switching during headset is plugged to my smartphone from stock music player (It's Apollo,i guess) to an other page (like homescreen, app drawer, settings etc.) the music changs from headset to the main speaker! (So everyone can hear my music!)
I tried different Custom Roms (like CM or Paranoid) but every one have got the same problem. Here's the link to Carbon
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617846
Thats really enoying because otherwise this rom is fantastic (better then CM etc.) and i don't want to buy especially for this problem a new pair of In-Ears. Funnily enough that with normal headphones this problem is not present (like normal Over-Ears)
Does somebody maybe know the problem and the way to fix it? I would be very glad for all answers to that! :good:
Maybe, it would be a better idea to post in that custom mode thread...
So, wait until you have enough rights, and then...
Can't hear any difference in sound when enabling clearaudio+, dynamic normalizer or when using equalizer. Noise cancellation is working, and overall the sound is good, but would like for the above mentioned to work.
Currently running stock. 28 firmware, rooted and recovery. Been trying a few other roms, but same problem. Tried disabling all xposed modules, but no change.
Mainly streaming with wimp (tidal)
Anyone with a clue to this?

Maybe it only works with Sony app???
It has always worked with other media players, both on my z3 and z2.

I'm a little late here, but found your post while searching for the same answer with the same issue. In a nutshell, Sony has decided to blame the app developers instead of themselves. In Kit Kat, it was more of a "global" equalizer where if you changed any sound settings, it happened across the device in any app. Now, app developers have to choose whether or not to enable the equalizer. In my eyes, this was a horrible move. I use Tidal (wimp) as well, and it sucks to not be able to use any of the benefits of the Sony sound. If you try Spotify, however, they have decided to play ball so when you enter the "equalizer" it simply redirects you to all of Sony's audio tweaks. This is fantastic!
Now, I'm considering switching to Spotify even though I love Tidal. I wish this issue was fixed.
For what it's worth, the equalizer on my S6 works no matter what streaming program I'm using. Why can't you do the same thing Sony?!?!
Despite the bad news, hope this clarifies for you.

Jesus christ man, the timing of your reply freaked me out ? I've just installed prerooted 5.1.1, and still having the same problem. Just decided to do a complete wipe, thinking my upgrading might have done something (never wiped data). So, sitting here backing up apps, littarally minutes away from wiping system and your reply ticks in on my Smartwatch 3 ?
As you told, I checked using Spotify, - and yes, everything works! Damnn you sony!! I'm quite up to date, but this information I've never heard of before! Why do they suddenly shift things like this, damnn, I like tuning my sound when listening to music...
Thank you so very much for your reply, and enlightenment on the issue! Have a great weekend!

Cheers Dude. I think this issue affects about 1% of Z3/Z3+ users (I have both) and it is not on Sony's radar to fix. It's greatly upsetting to me, though.
I'm not sure if I can link to an external page, but here is the 9-page long post on the Sony forums about it:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperi...blem-after-lollipop-update/td-p/955035/page/9
I guess we could use a 3rd party app for an EQ and whatnot, but I find Sony's ClearBass or whatever it's called to be very valuable on some tracks.
A good weekend to you too,
