How do you get the Samsung email app to group emails into threads? I have the conversation view turned on in settings but inbox is still all broken out

The absence of a Twitter app that supports push notifications annoyed me for quite some time now. There is no news or whatsoever on when this function might arrive for Android, so maybe we're waiting for a thing that may never happen or only in the distant future. My Twitter app polls each 10 minutes for new messages, which is draining the battery. Setting it to a larger interval means that it takes more time before you can answer your DM's or @mentions.
So when I yesterday recieved a mail from Twitter when I got an @mention, I got the feeling that I could do something with that. I use a Gmail account for my Twitter account, so mails from Twitter will be pushed in seconds to my Gmail account. But my Gmail is always on silent, no sound, no vibration, because I recieve to many mails to allow that. I had to find another option to alert me for Twitter mails.
I made a second Gmail account, the naming is arbitrary ofcourse, in my case [email protected]. Add that address to the Gmail App on your phone (open Gmail app, go to Menu>Accounts). Now you have two accounts in the Gmail app, you can switch by pressing the name of the account in the upper right corner of the Gmail app.
For both accounts you can set different sound/vibrate profiles when you recieve new mail. My primary account is on silent and I set the second account (which recieves only mails from Twitter) is set to always vibrate. You find the settings under Menu>More>Settings in the Gmail app. Make sure the second account is is set to synchronise automatically!
So far the things that have to be done on the phone. Now you need to make a filter in Gmail on the website. Go to the website, log in with your primary account. Now click in the upper right corner on the Settings icon, click on Mail Settings. Now you need to add the mail address you just made to Forwarding, so in my case I add [email protected]. Now you will recieve a code on that mail address which you have to enter in you primary account . Don't forward any mails yet, otherwise you recieve all mail of your primary account on your new account!
Now you have set up a forwarding address. The last step you need to take is set up a filter rule in your primary account. Again go to Mail Settings, now go to Filters. Add a filter that filters all mails from @postmaster.twitter.com and forward them to the new Gmail address, in my case [email protected].
Now all is set up and you will recieve a (almost) instant notification when you are mentioned at Twitter or when you get a DM.
(ps. the last steps with forwarding and filter rules can by avoided if you change your email address in your Twitter account to the newly made Gmail address, but I didn't want to change that myself.)
The only problem seems to be that Twitter doesn't always send emails when you get a DM/mention...
On my Calender synced with Gmail, I have three coworkers email addressses tthat I place in a event as guests so they will be emailed. Is there a way to group these together so can just add them as a group? I tried to make a contact and in the email box have [email protected],[email protected],[email protected] but the Calender app removes the commas and it doesn't work.
My main email account in the email app would not pull in mail anymore. When I'd try to go to folders for that account I'd get an FC. I deleted all email accounts and re-created. They now work, but the Combined Inbox count now shows I have 7 unread messages even though there are none. Is there a way to clear the Combined Inbox counter?
I'm a newbie with smart phones. I'm coming from a dumb phone and just ordered a Nexus 5. Looking at Nexus 5 specs and stock apps, I don't understand why the Nexus 5 has an Email app and a Gmail app. Isn't Gmail, e-mail? Why does Google separate e-mails? I have Gmail accounts, AOL e-mail accounts and Time Warner (Road Runner) e-mail accounts. Can I send and receive all my accounts in my Gmail app? Can I send and receive all my accounts in my Email app? Isn't all e-mail, e-mail? I don't understand the separation. Is Google making e-mailing, unnecessarily complicated? Are some e-mail accounts blocked out from one app or the other?
The gmail app is only for GMail, and is highly optimised for GMail. For example, it has the tabbed inbox (General, Social, Promotions, Updates, and Forums).
The email app is for any e-mail (POP or IMAP). Of course you can use the email app for GMail through the IMAP feature in GMail, but you won't get the optimised experience.

Use Email app to add all your email accounts.
But, if I were you I would start phasing out the AOL and RR email acounts and only use Gmail, this use only Gmail app.
I did this a few years ago and set an auto-forward on all my RR email. Whenever I would get an email sent to RR, I would update my profile's email on that account/service/website's. I now have one email and have the additional features that someone already mentioned above.
Hi,
I've noticed that if I attempt to send an SMS to a contact group (from within Huawei SMS app) it will select a contacts email address (if that contact has an email address), rather than their mobile number.
If I send a group SMS from within the Conacts app, it will correctly select all contacts mobile numbers to send SMS to.
Is there any way to force the SMS to select all contacts mobile numbers, and effectively ignore the contacts email address for the SMS?
Thanks for any help
