[Q] Reverting to stock rom - Sony Xperia L

Hi,
I've two Sony Xperia L: one is unlocked, rooted and runs cyanogenmod 11, and the other one is rooted, has the bootloader locked and runs the stock rom. I'd like the unlocked phone to be reverted to stock, but forgot to do a backup of its stock rom. Is it possibile to back up the stock rom of the second phone I have and use that one to put on the first one? Found Backup-TA which I'd use for backing up the phone with stock rom.
Thanks!

Hey, there is a trick with which you can create a stock ROM for yourself through PC companion! Here you go: http://www.mashinie.com/trick-to-create-sony-stock-ftf-rom.html (connect the locked one so PC companion recognizes it). If the rom contains no TA files (see link), then simply proceed, it will not brick (I tried already).
Are the TA-files from before you unlocked it? If not, they will be of no use. If yes, only put them after flashing the stock rom. If they are from the locked phone, DO NOT USE THEM!!! They will brick your unlocked phone! You can only use TA files from the same device, any TA files from other devices will brick your phone.
Hope this helps!

[Q] I need to relock bootloader and unroot to flash the stock rom?

1- Do I need to unroot the phone(xperia L) and relock the bootloader to flash the stock rom?
2-Does flashing the stock rom removes CWM(I want to remove it)?
Thank's in advance!
you can return to stock firmware using FLASH TOOL for xperia ( google it )
With this you can lock the bootloader but before that flash the stock rom @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/sony-xperia-l-flashable-ftfs-locked-t2560642
and yes flashing stock rom with FLASH TOOL will also remove CWM
hit thanks if that helped because today i also returned to stock rom

Hello guys. I'm new to this forum and i have one simple question.
I have an Xperia L c2105 rooted and with unlocked bootloader. Today when I connected it to my pc i received a notification from PC Companion with an update. I couldn't update it because the program said that I have a modified software or something like that.
Can I update my phone without losing root and with the bootloader unlocked? If i flash the stock rom update do i lose root and my bootloader will be locked?
PS: Sorry for my english, i hope you can help me deal with this...:good:

Firstly, updates via pc companion or SUS requires lock bootloader..if you have TA backup just restored it and it will be updated officially.
Second...Flashing new firmware will erased everything and your bootloader still will be unlocked if throu flashtool..
Third...when using flashtool, there are a few choices you can make like saving your data and etc but its recommended to wipe everything..
your data etc can be backup using 3rd party app..
The easiest way to root is using extended stock kernel v6 kernel..It has built in root and its binaries..
Thank you very much. I didn't save TA when I unlocked the bootloader so I assume that I can't get it locked. So in this case I will do the update trough flashtool. After flashing the update I will just restore root. Have a nice day

[Q] Keep root and recovery with locked bootloader after upgrading to Lollipop?

Hi guys,
My girlfriend has a Xperia Z3, currently not rooted, bootloader is locked, no custom recovery and running Kitkat. I'm planning on rooting her phone for her install TWRP just to make a backup of the ROM, then I will update it to Lollipop right after.
I want to keep the bootloader locked because from what I've read, unlocking bootloader wipes the DRM keys or something, which apparently affects camera and even battery life for some people. I know I can back up the TA partition but that doesn't fix the fact that the camera will be affected somehow. I just don't want to take the risk and deal with the possibility.
So how would I root and install TWRP on a locked bootloader Xperia Z3 running Lollipop? I haven't seen any topics or guides on this, most are for phones with UNLOCKED bootloader so it's not really helping...
Read the Guide in the general section for rooting a locked bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056
You haven't researched much i see..
If you have 23.0.A.2.93 version, all you need is to Root, install TWRP, then FLASH a pre-rooted Lollipop rom.
I've read that guide already and I don't see any pre-rooted LP roms for either New Zealand or Taiwan. I know it probably won't matter, but for phones like Samsung Galaxy S5, we have CSC codes which basically gives you access to certain apps or options depending on the country of the ROM. If possible, I'd like to update to Lollipop from the official OTA and then root it from there.
Also, I'm on a newer KK firmware, which means I'll need to downgrade in order to get root. But doing that also means I lose all the contents on the phone, which I want to backup first using Titanium Backup. I understand there's a sacrifice here but I'm a bit confused as to why we couldn't just flash recovery using fastboot (like most other phones do) and then install SuperSU from TWRP? Or is the downgrade necessarily in order for us to achieve root via an unpatched exploit?
UPDATE:
Forgot to mention one major issue, my girlfriend's Z3 is D6653. The 23.0.A.2.93 firmware for D6653 is for T-MOBILE, but my girlfriend's phone is an international variant so I'm not sure it's compatible.
you know you can flash a rom with flashtool and not have it wipe the data?

Help! Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) pre-rooted

Hi all
I have searched for a long time about rooting my device, but i found nothing
I have Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) with android 5.1.1 build 23.4.A.1.232 and locked bootloader.
So, I need to root it or install a pre-rooted stock firmware without touching the bootloader.
Hi, you need to flash a kitkat rom with flashtool then root with giefroot. (I'm not sure about other rooting methods but this is the safest way IMO.)
After it got rooted, install a recovery so you can flash pre-rooted stock firmware or whatever you want. Remember to backup TA partition.
I had D6633 before and worked perfectly.
I have posted this before but you can go directly to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056

As far as I know, stock roms with stock kernel don't need bootloader to be unlocked. You need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash custom kernel and aosp stuffs.
tl;dr, if you are not gonna use custom kernel and aosp stuffs your bootloader can remain locked.
Ok, if you want to install moonbreakers, here's what I did when I first bought the device. I never unlock my bootloader.
1. Prepare the tools and root the device using Giefroot. and I recommend you to backup TA partition first just in case.
2.Install dual recovery.
3.Now that you have a working recovery you can flash any stock roms.
here's the guide by G-FACE.
if you want to unlock the bootloader remember to backup TA partition before you do it. If it's lost you can't get it back.

First of all, thanks for your help
Well i'm not professional, I only understand the rooting process.
But I have some questions:
1- can I make a ftf file as a backup from my exist firmware, so when I decide to reverse the whole process and return my device back to its original state, without losing anything?
2- What is the recovery, is that recovery has any disadvantage or negatively affect my device?
3- I didn't find a firmware 23.4.A.1.232 with the same customization version which is 1288-7361_R3C

sony z3 d6653 lolipop 23.4.A.0.546 root help

i unlocked the bootloader but theirs no way to root without downgrading to kk..
is theres a way fo rooting with this update can i have it
im new to sony and had a bricked problem yesterday
played a little bit with flash tool and managed to get out of it with the Unlocked bootloader..
And you were aware of such keywords like "camera DRM", "TA partition", "backup" before unlocking, right?
I've aswered you elsewhere too, but, the procedure is kinda universal (for Z phones that is): downgrade to KK, giefroot, XZDR, update to pre-rooted LL.
What's your issue with that? You do it once and you just flash the next version, keeping data, but wiping dalvik&cache.
i didnt keep the drm backup...
now i dont think i can restore it
it doesnt matter all i need to do it to root this and have the full power to my self
done and rooted and everything works fine..now i nned toknow if theres any pure android marshmellow available??
...
To root with an unlocked boot loader is the easiest thing, just flash an insecure kernel.
As for ROMS, head over to the development section and take a browse there.

Z3 stuck in bootloop.

So I was on a rooted 5.1.1 with XZDualRecovery and I decided I wanted to use the Marshmallow Concept firmware and wanted to create a prerooted one using PRFCreator but now after having flashed it, my Xperia doesn't want to boot into it anymore. It just starts with the this red led and then reboots after a couple of secs. I can boot it into freeboot and make Sony Flasher recognize it that way but I have no idea how to proceed from there. Any help please?

You cant create a pre rooted version of the concept. You can only get root on concept with an unlocked boot.
I have no idea what you mean by freeboot.
Just use flashtool to flash a stock ftf for your device and start again, but don't flash the prerooted concept rom you created again

Thanks I just found that out as well. So unlocked bootloader is the only way to root? No way to do it via XZDualRecovery then?
Thanks again!

Yes, on the concept ROM you have to unlock the bootloader to root.
As for using dual receovery, not on the concept rom. And to have XZDualRecovery you have to be rooted first (Unless you are on a really old firmware that the installer can gain root access on via an old exploit)
Does the Pre-rooted concept include XZ-DualRecovery? Case it included and cause boot loop, try with Pre-rooted concept (system rooted only) without XZ-DualRecovery. After flash Pre-rooted concept, DO NOT reboot but TURN IT OFF. Then flash other stuffs of the concept with flashtool except system. It may help to get concept rooted but not XZ-DualRecovery.
I wish to try this but I have only T-Mobile carrier.
