Has anyone heard about Samsung having a dock for the S6? I have a dock for my S3 that I absolutely love and I'd love to pick one or two up for the S6.
i'm sure they will eventually have one. doubt it would be wireless charge though..
i have this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RGIK7P/ which charges wirelessly.
or if you want a cabled/cheaper version, there is something like this:
there this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UV9IX04/
How long does it generally take to charge on the wireless charger? I was going to keep the one I get free with my S6 on my desk and a plugged in dock above my bed so I know it will fully charge each night.

depends on the phone battery capacity. typically my S4 charges in about 2 hours 20mins but the battery on the S6 is smaller battery probably closer to 2 hours if the phone has 8-10% left. i haven't received my S6 so can't post exact numbers but expect about 2 hours or so..
Try wireless here:

I have my current LG G3 wireless charging dock that I really like, I hope it will works alright with the S6 (I don't see why not).

I don't mind the wireless ones but I'm concerned with people saying wireless charging lowers the life of the battery. I'm not sure how true that is but it's a huge concern of mine.

Wireless charging seems flaky at best. Sometimes, it works like a champ. Sometimes, my phone will stop charging, start charging, stop charging, start charging, etc. until I get annoyed, pick it up, and put it back on the charger. I left it on the charger overnight and found it at 87% this morning. I don't know if it wasn't charging properly that whole time, or if it got to 100% and then just stopped charging. Any tips on this? Anyone else having similar issues?
FYI - this is the Samsung charging pad and the phone with no case or anything on it.
No issues here. Work flawlessly
I'm also having the issue with wireless charging starting and stopping. My charging pad, however is an ebay qi pad. Seems very position dependent on both of the pads I was using successfully with my S3.
The behavior is that it will start charging, then 10 seconds to a minute later stop. Then start....then stop...
S6
I have the sony charging pad and I've noticed my S6 stops charging when I get any kind of notification...
No issues here
you shall use 2A chargers to be effective.
I do. I have an official Samsung 2A charger with an official Samsung USB cable attached to an official Samsung wireless charger.
I haven't paid attention to it throughout the day, but I did notice that if I place my phone on the wireless charger it seems to charge to 100% and then it will stop charging. I know a few nights ago the samsung puck was green when I fell asleep but in the morning when I woke up I was down to 92%. I will be taking the wireless charger with me to work tomorrow so I will know for sure if it stops charging at 100% or if it does what you are describing.
Both my gf and I bought our Galaxy s6 edge on release day at Bestbuy and with the preorder the wireless chargers we're included free. The past 2 nights both of our phones have had this issue. Mine only charged to 87% yesterday and 93% today. Hers was at 88% yestwrday and 96%today.
I'm curious if the wireless charger takes a much longer time to completely charge the device to 100%.
For me better wireless charger than wire... I think I've better battety life.
With wireless charging I use wire charger included.

Thats makes sense but I've my wireless charger next to be bedside table and I was woken up but the charger plugged in notification sound constancy going off.
It would be really great to turn those sounds off. Also, you have to assume that there's some battery level where it will restart wireless charging, right?

This is what I was hoping for when I said above that I saw it hit 100% and then overnight it drained to 92%. I would hope that if it falls below 97% or so that it would charge again to 100% so it keeps cycling but right now I am not sure if it does it.
I've noticed the exact same problem with mine. I got the free Samsung official wireless charger from Best Buy. The phone charges to 100% every night but when it finishes, usually around 3 or 4 a.m., it just stops charging and doesn't start again. So this means that every day when I wake up my phone has drained to around 90%. This never happened with my Nexus 5 on a generic wireless charger. It always kept it topped up until I remove the phone. This is really annoying.
BTW if you go into the settings menu under battery, you can see exactly when your phone stopped charging.

that sounds like the best reason untill i hear anything more concrete, might try charging tonight direct via the cable and see if it hits 100%
but with no replaceable battery they may have introduced this to prolong the life of the battery.
I totally get not overcharging. But it's got to kick back on at some point. Leaving your phone on a charger overnight should basically guarantee 100% in the morning. Maybe at 97% it could kick back on, or at 100%, it could go into a trickle mode. I'm sure some custom development will come along and fix this problem.
Here's hoping for an update or something through soon. Gonna test a full charge before tonight and see if it actually states it reaches 100%
I'll post what I find.

Hi XDA members
in your opinion what is the best wireless charger for galaxy s6
hope everyone give us the price and the link for the product
Well it really depends on your budget. In my case, I am on a tight budget so I'll probably settle on TechMatte Wireless Charger that is priced not more than $25. However, I would really like the official Samsung wireless charger that is priced at $45 on Amazon. It is good-looking, sleeker and has functional LED light indicator.
Here is a good article about S6 wireless charger:
http://www.androidauthority.com/best-wireless-chargers-samsung-galaxy-s6-600922/
Honestly anything that has 3 coils will do well for you. I recently purchased this charger from Amazon, and it's amazing. You don't have to play with alignment as there is more than one coil.

Yep.. ^^^^ what eep02b said.. I have the same exact one and it charges ridiculously good. No issues whatsoever. I've used a variety cases and it charges them with no issues. The thickest case I have is the Caseology and the Supcase.
I don't have the S6, but I do have the official Samsung charger.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Charging-Pad-Packaging/dp/B00UCZGS6S
I'm using it for my S3, that has a wireless receiver inside since my charging port is rather finicky these days. It works fine for that and it's nice that it's low profile, which is what I wanted.
The downside is that since it's flat, not very useful if you wanna watch movies and such, but that doesn't bother me since I only use it before I go to bed. I generally don't run into alignment issues with it, but always a possibility with the single coil setup.
The official Samsung one works with any Qi enabled device, though if you are using it for any other device, besides the S6, like I'm currently doing with my S3, the LED indicator will not tell you when it's fully charged. It'll just tell you when it's on the pad.
I don't mind since I just use my phone's LED indicator light to let me know when it's fully charged. But, keep that in mind, if you want to use it for phones other than the S6.
The 3 coil setup is better in that you won't run into any alignment issues like you can run into with single coil set ups. If you get something like this TYLT charger, you can definitely watch movies and such since it's propped up.
http://www.amazon.com/TYLT-Wireless-Charger-all-Phones/dp/B00DG8NUC8
One other thing you wanna keep in mind with wireless charging in general. It will NOT charge your phone as fast as using the AC adapter (especially since it has fast charging capabilities) the phone came with. If you wanna charge your phone fast, wireless charging isn't the way to go. It's more of a convenience thing. Figured you knew that, but a friendly reminder never hurts.

Yeah I got this one aswell for bedroom, and I have the round original Samsung one for desktop. Samsungs has too bright blue leds to use in bedroom so its more suitable for desk.
Both works great, no issues at all. Might get the QiStone+ later on so that I can have a portable battery with wireless charging capabilities.
Have any of you with that Choe charger used any sort of app to measure what sort of charging current you're getting?

Im using the Choetech upgraded wireless charger, got it off Amazon for about £15. My last cheaper one used to sometimes overheat the phone. This one works without any issues and takes the same to to charge as a standard wall charger. What app can I use to check the charging voltages etc?
I use the TYLT Vu

I use an app called Ampere. Had to use the option for the older testing method to get it to work with the S6.
The Samsung Wireless Charging Pad for Galaxy S6 works just fine for me.

My TYLT Vu only works reliably when my S6 is placed on it in landscape orientation. It either doesn't work, or works intermittently in portrait orientation.
Do you have this issue with yours?
No, the only problem that I have with it is when my phone is fully charger and then the screen of my s6 lights up and the sound of the wireless charging plays, and its keep on doing it ever minute or so... I don't know if its the charger fault or the device itself
I have 3 of these around the house, work just fine for me, and they come in different colors and shapes;

I just got the new belkin charger and works great so far. Been using a cheap one from eBay and works good too.
Waiting on more from eBay soon and I'm sure they will work too.

I have the same issue, the wireless charger charges my phone just fine. I have 3 separate ones and they all do it, once it gets to 100% it keeps making the charging noise on and off as it looses a bit of power and starts charging again, kind of annoying when it's by your bedside lol. Anyone know how to fix that?
I have the official Samsung charging pad, works like every other wireless charger. Not sure if it was worth the $40 I got it for but the charging LED is handy and it isn't too bright to sleep with (my opinion). It doesn't have any starting/stopping charging issues at 100%.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JA7HNZO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just bought this a few days ago, absolutely love it. I've set it down maybe 50 times, never missed a charge or needed to re-position it. For $25, you can't go wrong. Only minor down side is the surface is pretty smooth, so people without a case, I could see this sliding off. I use a clear Spidgen case, and have no issues at all charging with the case on.
I have tried a few wireless chargers but the cheap ones have a small area that works. I have used samsungs mini qi wireless charger while it works same issue small area that the charger works. So I got the S6 wireless charger at best buy for 35.99 normal price is 59.99. The useable area is perfect I can just throw it on I dont have to fiddle with it to get it to charge.

Nice I missed out on that deal, this was the next best thing though. My fault for always getting a phone on release day.
Got one from ebay, although it's cheap, it works great with my edge, and it doesn't flash light, so you can put it in your bedroom.
For anyone who need one in bedroom.
I'm using an Anker Quick Charge 3.0 charger to charge this device.
Meanwhile thanks to the QI technology I also charge my Galaxy S6 and iPad mini with the same charger.
The funny thing is although A9 have the smallest battery capacity it charge the slowest, like, 1% every minute, which is ridiculous.
I wonder anybody else experienced similar problem?
Oh by the way the battery life is far from satisfactory, I'm a heavy user who look at my phone every 10 minutes, I need to charge it twice a day. To be honest, S6 is a great phone, it's more vivid screen and wireless charge always make me feel a big mistake to switch over, although it doesn't have Android 6.0 . sadly I really need latest Android badly so I cannot stick to it.
Attaching a screenshot of battery history here, just for reference.

Quick charge 3.0 will be available via a software update, right now it only supports quick charge 2.0 out of the box.

Experiencing same problem. Bought a QC 3.0 adapter, I only got from 6% to 43% in 32 mins. Even at Quickcharge 2.0 speeds, 1.16%/minute seems pretty slow especially when compared to the advertised "0% to 60% charge in 30 minutes." (Lies.....)

How can you tell what mode you're in? How can you tell if you're in Quick Charge? I thought one of the feature in Marshmallow is it will tell you when you're in Quick Charge or normal charge. I saw that in Nexus 5x and 5p but not in the A9. Does anyone know how to turn this feature on?
When you plug the phone into a charger, it turns Power Save off automatically...been doing this since the M9 or earlier.
Is anyone else finding that the charging on the gear s3 takes forever? The moto 360 you could easily top off in an hour or so, but the gear s3 seems to take 2 and a half hours to charge fully! I mean phones with 3000 mah batteries charge faster than that.
Mine charges a bit faster than 2.5 hours (although I never drain it to 0%), however the slow charging time can be related to wireless charging.
Take a phone with a 3000mAh battery, and try charging it wirelessly and you'll see what I mean.

I have done that. I still think the phone takes maybe 4 hours... But the battery in my phone is nearly 10x as big so it should take longer. I just wonder if it is something off about the charging solution Samsung is using because they seem to not be using the standard qi wireless charging.
I suspect Samsung has slowed charging time down and is being over cautious after the Note 7 issues.
yea the charging time is slow on mines too. this is my first smartwatch so cant really compare it to others
It's because the charger is only a 700ma
Try putting the watch on airplane mode while charging. You're not wearing it anyways so give that a try. Especially if you have the watch set to connect automatically to WiFi or LTE when it disconnects from Bluetooth and you walk away out of range.
