I read in a review that the s6 has the same screen off capabilities as the moto x where you can command it and it will come on. Is this accurate?

Yes. I didn't get a chance to fully test its limits. The cool thing though unlike the moto x you can use any word you like. It doesn't have to be three syllables. In my text it was "hello" and it responded perfectly.
A follow up question: can that trigger Google Now rather than Samsung SVoice?

Interesting. How does it act in noise, at distance, etc? Any impact on battery? How does it react when Bluetooth audio is connected?

I'm guessing (and very much hoping) it is like a standard android function where you get your app choice

EEEECK... so far I've not been able to get it to work with google now... only S-Voice.
Anyone who's smarter able to figure it out?
Isn't it supposed to work with the screen off? Can't get mine to

Saw this great app
Get all of the features of Google Now, from anywhere on your phone, simply say "Okay Google" or wave your hand to activate.
What does this mean? Google Now becomes more conversational as after a search just say "Okay Google" to start a new one. And even better get the answers to your questions while your hands are tied, or when you're on the couch, or in the car.

Try another app called "Utter!"

This app is like a port of feature found in moto X. always on mic. and accessing google now..
Cool. Utter seems to be similar too
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Utter is fantastic, I use it as a hands free when I am driving
How does either of these affect the battery? I know the Moto X has the X8 with the language processor which I'm guessing reduces the cpu load needed to keep the mic listening.
Any noticeable changes on your battery life?
Wow utter makes awesome job at first glance. But needs updates. Isn't even able to write sms...

So I just bought the pebble watch for my Galaxy S4. I have been hesitant because of the Samsung bug, but so far the only one I noticed was the video player bars staying there. Anyone else can tell me what this watch is capable of? Or if the issues come up on the phone with time?

I've been using one since May. The talkback bug is there on all Samsung devices but otherwise it's cool. The most usable smartwatch on the market.

I like it but I don't know if its worth the $150 iny head (personally) I want it as more of an extension of my phone rather than just read texts.
What talk back bug are you talking about? I have been trying to duplicate it and can't seem to find it

If you turn on accessibility so that you can get whatsapp messages etc on the watch, then it enables talkback

Hi!
I've been using my pebble for some time now. I don't use the talk back service, so it doesn't bother me.
I can recommend pebble notifier as well!
I doubt that the bars staying on in video player are because of the pebble, as I remember that I've had that before I even had ordered my pebble.
It has appeared once or twice after that randomly as well and disappeared.
Every once in a while I get ultra clear reception and other times it just sounds normal. Anyone have any idea why this is happening and how u can keep it clear like that all the time?

Carrier? if its T-Mobile if its ULTRA clear means you're connected to another person on the other line that has a HD Voice Capable device
If it just sounds like Normal it means the other person doesn't have a HD voice capable phone or you or the other person is not on the capable network (HSPA) So Both of you Could have HD Voice handsets but the other person is on Edge which reverts it back to normal voice

Both carriers Support HD voice assuming your device is a Nexus 5 and your sons phone is a galaxy s4 both support HD voice
When I got the phone, I assumed the IR Blaster was a gimmick and that I would hardly use it. Therefore it was not a selling point when buying the phone. Now I use it everyday. It is just so convenient to control my TV and be able to change channels while looking at the channel guide!

I wish there was a way for it to open the app directly to the remote to turn tv on. there are about 4-5 button presses I need to do to get the tv powered on
I dont know why but I cant get the app to work. It keeps saying that it cannot connect to the server. Ive seen other people mention this problem but I dont know if theres a fix for it yet.
Sucks because I would like to use the feature.
The IR blaster on this device is much better than the LG or Samsung versions, IMO... And when it works apparently (sorry for the luck). It does upset me that you can't add it to the lock screen like Samsung though. With viper, and probably other ways as well, you can add the shortcut to the lockscreen, so that save a few clicks.

What is it called exactly there are loads of apps titled simply ' universal remote'. Having an app like that that needs so little setup sounds pretty cool.

If you didn't sign up for an HTC account at start dot htc dot com then it will do that. Once I went through that, the TV app worked fine for me.
Can't put URL because I don't have enough posts.

You can set it as lock screen. I just did. Your doc at the bottom is the same as your lock screen so you have to change it to one of those.

Yeah, I didn't think of that. It would be nice if we could set up as a widget. Be nice to double tap and there's the remote. Since its stock on other OEMs, I'm hopeful someone will make it happen on one of the great ROMs we have to choose from.

This is why I use Smart IR and have a widget with power and volume controls.
Edit: Let's support devs instead of being little deviants, guys.
Piracy
Good Afternoon.
The distribution of paid apps for "free" by any means is considered Piracy and is strictly prohibited on XDA.
If you are unsure whether or not the app you're linking others to or downloading is pirated material, try searching for it in the Playstore.
If it has a cost, then your "free download" is PIRATED
Thank you and have a nice day.

I'm not to familiar with writing tasked commands I know there was a plugin to use tasker to voice control the infrared remote on Samsung phones...anyone able to modify that plugin to work with The G3? It would be awesome to use commandr's tasker integration to be able to control the TV with my gwatch. I've been looking around and can't seem to find one that's already available.

You could reach out to the developer of that app and see if they are going to provide support for the G3. It never hurts to ask.....

Head's up, he added support for the G3 to this app! Now how do you use voice control with Tasker?
I have auto voice run a command via the Tasker plug in to turn the TV on and also switch the inputs
