seidio innocase II!!!!!!
Id say otterbox. They're beastly to protect that $600 phone. ONLY problem is they bulk it up. But if you want to throw your phone across the room it's the way to go.
Id say otterbox commuter its not to bulky. Wish they had colors other than black.

Well either that or case-mate i guess. i was looking at both and it looks like they sell the same type of stuff. just case mate you can buy a different color gel skin. i wonder if the hard shell would work with a skin bought on ebay hmmm...
Your missing the best case, Innocase II, I've had them all and this case is so much better than the rest I actually feel sorry for the folks wasting money on the other cases much the same as I did prior to finding it. There are so many shoddy cases for the Nexus one, including the casemates which I actually thought would be good, but ended up being extremely disappointed with it's a shame really.
it was a mistake not to include a seidio innocase II on this list...
+1 for that case
My vote is for Case Mate ToughCase. There's another thread on here where I posted some pics too.
I received a Case Mate Tough Case this Saturday to replace my Seidio Innocase II, and this is a very very nice case. I like it much more than the Innocase I had. I was worried it would add too much heft to the phone, but it does not at all. It feels very solid and well made and it looks great. My girlfriend ordered the pink one this morning and she hasn't even received her Nexus yet!
As an aside, the Innocase II was a pretty nice case, but I had some QC issues with mine. It was a little too large, and when I pushed the lock button on the phone or plugged the phone into the charger, I could feel it slide up and down inside the case. Also, it's nearly impossible to use the Innocase with a screen protector.
I have the casemate which is basically 2 cases in one and I must say that my phone feels much safer in my hands. I also dropped it accidentally last week and was not worried. The sound that the fall made (dull like a plastic slap hitting the floor) reassured me that my phone was really safe.

Thats exactly what I did, got the case before the phone. However I ordered the case mate tough case black/black.
Tough Case.
What's wrong with the free neoprene sock that the phone comes with?
I went for a FlexiShield Skin from Mobilefun.co.uk (bleugh.. new users can't post links)
Having looked at others it now seems expensive, but I like it. It doesn't add much bulk (the phone still fits in the neoprene sleeve), and I've dropped it three or four times (that I can remember. I've had a lot to drink over the bank holiday weekend ) and there's not a mark on the phone...

Not a lot, it's pretty useful. The problem is it leaves an edge completely unprotected, I dropped mine and guess which bit ate tarmac? Also it seemed to be getting a bit looser with age, the phone didn't feel quite as secure in it as it did in Jan.
Innocase II not my favorite.
I like the Innocase II, but am going try Case Mate or Otterbox.
I tried a Zagg with the supplied neoprene case. Two days later I acquired nicks to the top resulting from a drop. I then bought the Innocase II, which tears up my Zagg at the edges. Too bad, I have two batteries and the Car Dock, so I'd like a solution that will allow me to slip on/off.
Fits OK in the neoprene case with the Innocase II, a little tight.
What case will you be getting, if any?
Post your $0.02, give a little review, discuss.
I'll start:
I ordered an otterbox commuter series case for the Desire HD, and am crossing my fingers that the Inspire and DHD are exactly the same. I feel like the commuter is the best balance between essential protection, without adding too much more bulk onto an already large device (to me, slimness is a deal breaking factor). When it comes in, and I have the phone on the 13th, I will test it out and report my findings. If it doesn't fit - I'm going to go with the case-mate 'barely there' case. The only reason I did not choose this case - strangely enough - is that it didn't cover the aluminum/glass seams on the front face of the phone.
Has anyone owned an otterbox before? Please comment on the quality, snugness, design etc - let me know what I should expect.
When I first got my Captivate I also ordered the Otterbox Commuter, however it was a bit too bulky for me since I like the aesthetics of the devices that I buy, and it hampered it too much.
With that said, I will first start out with a naked device, then I might move to a PhantomSkinz Chromatic skin. I love those things.
If I want a bit more protection, then I will definitely be getting a CaseMate Barely There too.
Heh, I also just ordered the OtterBox commuter case for DesireHD, it shipped out today. I'm hoping it fits ok, it should...
I love otterbox protection but hate the bulk. I will be going with a casemate gel skin and a gelaskin for the back along with an invisible shield for the screen

I am thinking it will fit perfectly - after doing more case research last night I found that Seidio is advertising cases for the Inspire/DHD. Unless they are purposely making a blanket case with some added "wiggle room", I believe they know for a fact the two devices share the same dimensions.
When did you order yours? I ordered mine last night (2/7/11, 11:30 pm) and have not received a shipping email yet.
Is the commuter really that bulky? I wonder how easy it is to return a case to them...
Edit: Just checked out their return policy. Seems pretty basic, except shipping costs are non refundable. If it turns out I don't like the case, I'll eat the charge for shipping it back to them (I used a coupon code that got 10% off/free shipping).
I will get the accessories package at the at&t store, but if that isn't enough, I may buy this: http://www.case-mate.com/HTC-Desire-HD/Case-Mate-HTC-Desire-HD-Clear-Armor.asp
What do you think?
Matt
I ordered mine on 2/07 at 2am, and got the shipping confirmation later the same day at 7pm... So that's about 17 hours, lol. I'm guessing that yours will probably ship out by 2/08 at some point? I'm pretty sure we'll get them by the end of the week. I used the same deal, 10% off with free shipping.
I have not seen the OtterBox Commuter cases in person, but they look a lot less bulky than the Defender cases! A friend has the Defender case for iPhone 4 and while it's nice, it's freakin' huge, haha. I think the Commuter series is supposed to be like a lighter version of the Defender, which is exactly what I want.
I always had the gel skin case made by boxwave. It's very easy take off and on. Feels good in your hand. It's doesn't add bulk. They also have one for desire hd which should fit the inspire. I am very excited about the release.

My experience with these cases are never good. While they seem great in theory, I have the way that without fail - dirt and lint get stuck on all of the edges of the plastic. Whether you keep it in your pocket or keep it in your hand, it has happened on every clear shield I have applied. Not to mention they are very tricky to apply to contoured surfaces. They protect from scratches, but don't drop it - your edge will still be exposed (which is probably what is going to hit the ground first)
I have only owned the zagg versions of these, so I don't know if the case mate ones are any different. The last one I owned was actually for an iPhone 4. While I was in the store, despite my previous experiences with them, I thought that it would be a good idea - since the front and back of the iphone 4 are completely flat. While it was a breeze to install, the plastic protector never quite took hold of the glass surface and when I would put it in my pocket, I would remove it to find the protector all disheveled over the phone. I eventually just ripped it off and found a slim hard case.

Case
This case has great reviews on an htc desire site. Its made from TPU which is a little harder and less "sticky" than a gel case. Same material as my iphone's iskin case which I've had for over a year. I've dropped it multiple times, and no damage to the phone or case. Prob the best material IMO. Here is the link : http://www.eforcity.com/tpu-rubber-...04.html?efprcggbadtf110207=sc+gb+chtcdesisc04

Probably similar to the Flexishield case I have on my Hero. If so, they are great.
Just ordered that case, $3.79 shipped on eBay.
I plan on getting the seidio innocase II case holster combo for the inspire when it ships
Cool, my OtterBox Commuter case (for Desire HD) came in today! Took 3 days total with (free) shipping via USPS Priority.
The case is NICE! Way better than I expected and really not too bulky looking at all. I'd say no thicker than any other normal case. I like the combination of the rubber + hard shell. The case also has a nice texture to it as well. Now I just hope it fits the Inspire ok, lol.
I pre-ordered from Radio Shack, guy told me they were getting the Inspires in "early" for the 10th, because they're trying to compete with Verizon iPhone (which launches on the 10th). I have no idea if he's right or not, but will call on Thurs afternoon to check, and maybe I'll have a nice surprise...
I preordered mine through radioshack as well i hope they call me earlier than the 13th to come pick it up. i'm paying retail for the phone so i wonder if I'll get the 30 accessorie gift card? Any suggestions?
So we can buy any desire hd case and it will fit the inspire?

I ordered 4 of them from the shack and was told I would get the $30 card for each phone. Also not sure if you did this or not, but on the bottom of your preorder receipt theres a survey link , tkaes about 3 minutes, and at the end you print out a coupon for $10 off your next $40 purchase (picking up the phone )
Yet another "which case" thread (sorry.) Siedio Active vs. Otterbox Commuter?
I've been using a couple of different TPU cases, but I'm tired of the hit-or-miss quality control on them. They get the job done, but I think it's time for a proper case instead of going the cheap route.
I'm totally torn between the Otterbox Commuter and the Seidio Active cases. Both are dual layer (silicon and hard shell,) and are around the same price. I like the look of the Otterbox case more, but have heard horror stories about the silicon stretching out rather quickly. The Seidio seems to be designed to avoid this problem, but lacks the port covers and sleek look of the Otterbox.
Out of the two, which is better in terms of build quality, durability, button stiffness, and least bulky? Since they offer the same protection, I'm more concerned with those aspects... I just want a quality case that will last a long time without being warrantied due to design flaws (like I've heard about the Otterbox.)
So, what do you suggest?
I've been using the Otterbox Commuter series for almost 5 months now and the silicon is still intack.
I have both and I can honestly say they were good but I got tired of the big bulky phone look. I recently purchased this one and to be honest I love it better then the other two.

As for which of the two I liked better? I like the otterbox better. I used it more. Hope this helps.

Haha, that is actually the case I'm using now. It's okay, but I don't care for the way it is concave along the top edge, and the fit is a little off. I'm now looking for a higher quality case, that will protect my device for as long as I own it. I'm not too concerned with a little bulk, as I've had a case on it since I got it.
Thanks for the replies so far, please keep them coming!
I've been using the Otterbox Commuter case for a while now and I love it. Only complaint is the headphone port cover that doesn't like staying in. Not a big deal though. Love the case

IMO I'd always considered Ottercase as the ultimate protection. So I never really looked into getting one for my devices because I baby my phones . The farthest I've gone with the protection grade is the Seidio Active with kickstand. The protection is great in using it. I come to the realization that this case is ideal for traveling. Case in point, I had the Seidio on when I went to Disneyworld last year and at the Magic Kingdom shows, the crowds usually gather at the cobblestones at the castle. Being I have my, then 2 and a half year old, she was indeed a handful, even though my wife was there with me as well. lol.... Setting up the scene there, after the event, I had my phone on my lap and when the show ended, it was like a mad dash to move and not thinking, I stood up and the phone fell from my lap onto the stones. I freaked lol, but gladly the fall bounced on the corners and nothing was damaged.
Moral of the story, if you are a clutz get the otter box lol, if you are in an office most of the time, then get something a tad thinner and get the Seidio with the holster. That's what I have and I have to say is kinda business friendly in looks as well.
However, I cannot say anything negative about otterbox, because I have never used one on my devices. Heck, my Kindle Fire is also sporting the active case style .
GL in your choice, its really your call in determining which is the "better" case. Kinda like beauty, this would be in the eyes of the beholder in a sense.
EDIT: And don't worry about the lack of holes on the back. It never affected how the phone worked signal and call wise.
Thanks for all the replies, I really appreciate the input!
So far, I'm leaning toward the Otterbox Commuter case, though I won't be ordering until this afternoon... so if anyone has any last minute suggestions (even recommending another case,) I'm all ears. I'd rather not keep ordering cases in search of the right one for me, so any and all advice would be a huge help.
Thanks again!
I have always found Otterbox kinda overrated till i was given one.. and i have to say the build quality is great... My quick review
Hey guys,
Recently I bought this and while it looked great at first, it dawned on me that it doesn't tightly fit my device and the bottom part of my Nexus 4 has slipped out of the case a couple times..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/FULL-BLACK-...959490?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item56513a4042
So now I'm hunting for a new case. I've had really good experiences with the Seidio case with my Nexus S, but it's proven to be rather expensive compared to what others have offered. Wouldn't mind going back if it's the only case of this category that is the best fit and protection for the device.
I was looking at the Mybat but was concerned about the actual bulk of the device, and it being easy to remove as I often take off the shell from time to time. Also, no one seemed to comment if the case interferes with headphones with L-shaped plugs either.
The other two contenders are Ballistic and Ionic, heard great things from both but unsure which is better. I did hear that Ionic cases attract lint very easily but I do like its price very much. Not a fan of the bubble-back design though. Heard great things about Ballistic, but like the Seidio case, the cost is making me apprehensive about purchasing one.

I have the iconic and thought it was too thick, so I ordered the Ballistic one and it's even thicker
I'm tempted to try the ACTIVE but I have spent so much on cases it isn't even funny....
Edit...I just bought it on ebay for $24.99 and free shipping.
When i had my gs3 i had a variety of cases including; cheap ebay "tough" cases with kickstands, an otterbox defender (never again), and a ballistic sg. The Ballistic is a GREAT case. It was sturdy, the phone would never pop out, the plastic was nice, and the silicone inner was much better than the plastic inner found on the defender. The silicon not only prevented scratches, but also prevented dust and any other unwanted items in. It almost seals the device. When i bought my nexus 4, i was very dissapointed that there weren't any decent protective cases out. I knew the ballistic sg was coming, but ive had my device since december and needed something for the short term... Something to get so i can wait for the ballistic. I was almost going to buy the case you bought, but i really don't like kickstands. I searched on ebay and found the mybat tough case, I bought it as it met all my requirements; it was cheap, it was protective, it didn't have a kickstand, and it actually looked good. The buyer i bought my case from shipped the case very fast to Australia, (which suprised me, usually these types of cases end up taking about a month) To my suprise, the case was really good quality for the price. The cutouts were (almost) perfect, the fit was pefect, the phone doesn't move about at all. I paid 15 dollars shipped to Australia compared the 70 or 80 odd dollars it would cost me to buy a ballistic shipped. I had the case on for a day, and I loved it...Until I tried to hang up on a phone call... the sensor on the lg is very sensitive, and this case just blocks it enough to stop the screen coming on. This fault was quickly fixed with a drill bit, and since then, i have had no issues, and will continue using this case for the remainder of the phones life. I simply prefer the whole case over the ballistic i had on the s3. However the ballistic was slightly better made, it doesn't warrant even a 15 dollar increase over this case. I love this case. (Note in my pictures the proximity cut out I modified) I did a custom design with sharpie marker on mine and it came out awesome! I wouldn't do this to a more expensive case as id be worried about wrecking it, but since these bad boys are so cheap, who cares. If this broke, i wouldn't think twice at buying another one.
Edit: This case also works with my energizer qi charging mat.
that back is awesome!
FYI the ballistic case works with the LG-WCP700 wireless charging pad. I do however find it is harder to hold on to as it's slippery compared to the Ionic. It's also larger than the Ionic.
I'd go with Mybat (because it's cheap and looks decent) or the Active (because seidio makes a good product and I like the kickstand.)
i also love the look of rugged cases.. been using them ever since my first smartphone
currently i am using this armourdilo case that i saw online.. it is available for sale on mobilefun website or i have seen a seller through eBay AUS...
availbale in a varieety of colours as well although i stuck the standard black on black ...
as well as many youtube vdo reviews bout it.. so i decided to buy it.. really good look and feel..

The case is easier to get off than my ballistic sg on the s3 was. With that said, if i drop it, it doesn't feel as if it will fly apart. The case has interfered with one of my L-shaped head jacks, and works with another.. i just use a simple headphone extender when i want to use those earphones.

I've done the digging on this forum and seems its been a few months since many of you have chimed in on waterproof S6 cases.
It seems the best options are Lifeproof FRE or Dog and Bone Wetsuit. That said, I've read two things: 1) those who swear by Lifeproof despite the complaints and 2) those who bought it and were highly disappointed.
Both are pricey.
Which is thinner?
I see Dog and Bone claims to use a tempered glass protector but I've read in multiple places it feels like plastic, not tempered glass. That said, I realize the outer layers of tempered glass are plastic.
I also read the Dog and Bone reduced radio reception quite a bit. Is this true?
How easy is it to remove either of these? Can I put these on when I need to go on adventures and switch back to my Spigen Neo Hybrid when I want slim? The 2nd problem with that is I generally use tempered glass so I guess I'll have to remove this to put on either of these cases?
EDIT: After more digging I'm also curious about these options: Punkcase SpikeStar, Ghostek Atomic. The Punkcase reviews on Amazon almost all say it's good but the bad ones are very short anonymous, and not very detailed.. which almost makes me think the other big names are having trolls badmouth the little guys.. but who knows.
Thanks.
I have lifeproof. I was considering dog&bone wetsuit as well, but limited availability, warranty, and price (lp was half price than d&b on amazon) were drawbacks. Lifeproof works well with tempered glass sp (mine's 0.2mm thick). Had issue with crack in charging port cover, contacted lifeproof and they replaced it with a whole new case, paid 5 dollars for shipping, no hassel. I have complete confidence in the waterproofing nature of case, and it's surprising light. (Lighter than my neo hybrid metal). Let me kknow if you have any more questions.
I'm thinking of getting this one. Couldn't find too much on it though.

So despite the negative reviews I've read, would you recommend Lifeproof as a case to switch to for excursions when waterproof is desired? Then switching back when back to normal (dry) life?

That's exactly what I do. I use neo hybrid for protection in dry weather. Spigen liquid crystal at home. And lifeproof whenever I'm outdoors camping, or otherwise. It's quite easy to take the case off with a coin.
As long as you take care of the case, it'll last you.
One of the biggest complaints was Power port cover breaking off, and it's 99.9% user error/negligence. Sound, admittedly, will degrade in quality, but I see it as a fair trade off for waterproof feature.
I was very tempted to get Dog and bone, but they're availability is scarce (it's from Australia). Also the price is double than LP.
If you're in canada/Us, don't buy it from retail. Buy it from amazon, and you'll pay almost half the price of retail.
Try to avoid off-brand cases. They usually have very poor quality, and warranty if there is a problem with the case. Invest a little more and opt for a reputable brand, whether you choose LP or D&B.

Thanks. I'll probably do Lifeproof. I do wish for the price of the case it had better than a 1 year warranty. They could do much better saying "Lifetime" knowing that most people don't keep their phone for more than 3 years.
The extreme muffled sound of life proof was a deal beaker. I could hardly hear voice in a noisy environment. I had life proof and returned it then got a dog and bone which has no audio issue and you can almost use it day to day. By comparison life proof looks better made/more shockproof.
