I'm looking for an incorporated advanced power menu for the G3, rooted LP 5.01 stock, which assigns to the power button. I do have Xposed experimental installed, APM+ experimental does not work (yet), and no other advanced power menu incorporates into the system/power button, though they do work via their icons.
I'd like to find out what/how to make the power button integrate with an advanced menu. Any insight is appreciated.
Thank you.
There is a version of g3 tweaksbox that works on lollipop that will give you the extended menu. I don't remember where I found it, but will find it and post here.
Edit: here is the link:

kleerfyre,
Thank you. I can not run Xposed because it ruins my tethering. I appreciate the info. When Xposed is updated to solve the tether, I will use your idea.

chipset-MSM7627a..its hdpi..
That is not what I was looking for. I wanted to know if you had managed to install android versions higher than GingerBread.
Since that is what you have, a quick search showed me that the popular options Wanam Xposed and Gravity Box are not compatible for you. Your best bet is to Install the Xposed Framework from the thread [FRAMEWORK ONLY!] Xposed - ROM modding without modifying APKs (2.6.1)(20.05.2014). You can also refer to this Youtube Video if necessory. Once the framework is installed, you can search through the app or on the Xposed Modules Repository to see if any compatible module has been developed. The same thread allows for you to post a request as well.
thanx but already tried nvm

I have the preview build that I put on using the .zip, I then rooted the phone. But there are things I want to change of course. So I was wondering does Xposed work on M? If so what do I need to do to get it on there?
Dude.. Xposed isn't even working 100% on lollipop. Either help the project or be patient and wait like most of us around here.
Goddamn spoonfeeding has to stop, opening a thread for this wasn't necessary, since there is a general thread for Xposed right here on XDA. You would have found your answer there.

Little bit harsh, but I have to agree.
Android M is TOO early to be worked on, it's just a preview. Once again, I want to put my point that this release SHOULD NOT be a daily driver.
Xposed, in other hand is still in a beta / alpha state. You do not want to expect it to work on M while on Lollipop it barely works (I mean, Xposed developers are using temporary fixes to work around some issues)
Please, in all regards, be patient ! I'm sure it won't be long until M becomes a fully mature system images and we can all develop for it.
Let's try not to get too worked up about things guys. There is little information about M on the Xposed thread, and the user would, sadly, had he written such a question there, be attacked by angry members writing "Don't ask for ETAs!"
The truth is that while there hasn't been any work to port Xposed to M, the zip from 5.1.1 COULD work. So far, no one's tried it. There haven't been any changes that could totally prevent Xposed from working. That being said, due to Xposed's hack-filled nature, there is little to no chance of the phone even booting after the zip is installed, let alone after modules are installed.
Im actually shocked there hasnt been a few mods made for m yet. I mean we have custom kernels. Id agree xposed wont happen for awhile but a few simple mods would be appreciated.
You can try long press on the settings icon in the notifications area (it is an hiden option like developer hiden option) so you will have some options to modify the ui.
Cleaned the thread. Let's not be rude to each other.
It's fine if you want to talk about Xposed, M and the N5 but keep it constructive.
Please keep in mind that Marshmallow isn't even officially released and Xposed (though very functional) is still in development and even alpha on 5.1.1 so constructive discussion would actually be limited.
Let's not just speculate about it.
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I want to know how to get to have the reboot options (Reboot, Recovery, Donwload) on Marshmallow (Nexus 5 or other) stock rom on power menu without being obliged to install a custom rom or any type Xposed modules (which apparently do yet working on this version of android).
Threads exist here and there on the forum but for other versions of android and all talk of a framework and android.policy.jar modifications.
If android.policy.jar easily found on these older versions of Android (the file found in the framework folder), in Marshmallow rom impossible to get hold of it. :crying:
I think that this file has simply disappeared from circulation and was replaced by something else, see that his features were incorporated elsewhere ...impossible to find information on the subject despite long searches !
Is someone would be kind enough to please bring some informations and explain how to do that? that would be awesome !
Thank you in advance for your answers.
I think you might be interested in the world.

Hello everyone,
One to answer? I'm really surprised and disappointed!
No one can answer that? With the number of developers or modifiers that there is anywhere on the forum? :crying::crying::crying:
Come on guys, we need your lights!
Reminder to all those who know!
I use this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=phongit.quickreboot&hl=en
Hello and thank you for this first response.
Unfortunately, it does not answer my question.
I already know this app that I use every day.
I want to know what changes to make on Marshmallow stock to bring up this reboot menu, as you might do in other previous versions.
yes I like digging my head ^^
Hi i need TUTORIAL how add advanced power menu on Lollipop.
No one help me?
Hi, that's a little tutorial:
You need rom that supports xposed framework, Z5 STYLE for example. Just because stock firmwares have corruped files. So, after installing this or other rom with support of xposed (CyanogenMod), just google "xposed for lollipop", and follow instructions. Good luck!
Hello,
I've a Xiaomi Mi4c 3GB, flashed recently with Resurrection Remix 5.8.0 and Android Nougat 7.1.1 (security patch 5 December 16 - 3.10.104-#GetResurrected Kernel). The flash is done using TWRP, and OpenGapps ARM64 for Android 7.1.1 in it's PICO version (as suggested by the modder). Currently I'm in Italian (language on which now on tap is available) but I tested also with English US.
Even if enabled as suggested in other threads in this forum, Now on Tap (or Search on Screen) does not work with hardware Home button. When I long press Home, the system opens Google Now application. I've tried to enable Software navigation bar (qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 in build.prop), and software Home correctly opens the Now on Tap functionality.
I've tried also to set VIRTUAL on keylayout/General.kl to try to emulate software home with hardware Home, but it does not work.
All configurations seems correct, the only incongruence is that in Input and Voice Assistant instead of "Google", it shows "launcher3" (I've selected Google Pixel Launcher as default launcher). But actually Now on Tap works with software Home
Do you have any suggestions? How can I make Now on Tap works with Hardware Home?
Than you in advance for any help!

Hello,
The maintainer of RR for your device needs to add an overlay for your device tree or common while building.

Vatsal,

Hi, thanks for your answer. I have access to the repository of the ROM, and I think I will have to compile the ROM by myself, but I don't get what you mean by making an overlay of the device tree...
Or better, which is the component that should be overlayed that is not already there? (sorry I'm a noob...)
The repo is located on Github: github.com/AndropaX/android_device_xiaomi_libra branch RR-7.1
Thank you again...

Hello,
You need to add
Code:
<bool name="config_hwKeysPref">true</bool>
at overlay/frameworks/base/core/res/res/values/config.xml of your device tree/common tree.

Thank you!
I have prepared a Pull request with your suggestion. Let's hope it will be accepted! I let you know if it works so you can mark the 3d as solved.
I'm reporting this for future reference.

Hello,
I just checked on my RR build. Yeah he is right we don't need that anymore, my bad.
You can assign it from Hardware keys options itself.
I am attaching a screenshot.
Yeeeeeee
You are right!!! Thank you!!! I was trying to configure it in the wrong menu!
Edit:
Found the solution!
The configuration to be checked is inside Resurrection Remix configuration utility:
Settings -> Configuration (Resurrection Remix) -> Buttons (the Italian translation is a little misleading tough) tab (7th tab) -> Hardware keys -> Home Button
On action on long press, select personalized action, there should appear Google Now on Tap. So it is not a bug. The same configuration must be set also in Android settings (Voice and assistant), selecting Google as default assistant.
