[Completed] Is it safe to install a custom Rom?! - XDA Assist

Hey devs! I'm bored of the old school jelly bean on my xperia c thanks to Sony who doesn't support mid range devices! Anyways I'm a tech addict and I wanted to ask you experienced devs whether is it safe to install custom roms on any phone? Does it have an effect on the battery life? . Whether before installing a custom Rom all our Apps can be backed up? please help I'm trying to install the lollipop rom provided by iSidd
Thank you

Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist You can flash Recovery without any issues it is safe and reason why its good is it gives you additional function over stock recovery

[Q] Which custom rom is the best

Hey people would anyone please tel me which cutom rom is the best based on performance???
There are many roms avaiable
Hello m8,
There are many roms avaiable in the development section.
Just try them. For that you need to have your phone rooted, then just install the clock work mod, backup your current rom (for precaution) and install the new one. As simple as that!
Hope this information helps you!
My best regards,

[Q] Xperia Ray-Flashing kernal

Hi friends,
I am pretty new to this forum and before a couple of days i did a research regarding Flashing Kernals and Roms(Dont knw whether my concepts regarding that is right or wrong) and currently i have installed Cyanogen 9.1 for my device. Now let me ask a couple of questions i have for you guys.
1.Will I be able to update my phone and bring back to old ICS firmware via SUS once i brick my phone(I have already unlocked the bootloader via fastboot method)?
2.Evrytime when i flash the Rom(say CM9) i used to flash kernal(boot.img) for the respective rom.Is this necessary all the time?
Will i able to flash a GB rom on ICS kernal(I am afraid to give it a test)?
3.Regarding CM9.1 which i have installed ryt now,I am satisfied with the performance, but i want a stable ROM wud make me happy with a better battery life unlike CM9.1.So could you pls suggest me a GB/ICS ROM which wud have a stable performance with descent battery life.
4.After using GB for a long time,i was very much addicted with the Phone pad kinda keyboard, but when ICS came into picture everything vanished,Smartkeyboard Pro is no gud,Touchpal is conjusted,i want the exact GB keyboard in ICS.Any ideas?!!

[Completed] That thing is possible?

Don't take me for a crazy (lol) but i want to ask that if it is possible to install custom Rom galaxy s5 latest version and the model is SM-G900H on my lg e450 and the android version is 4.1.2, yes it is jelly bean and have been successfully rooted. However, i do not want to flash my mobile unless it is necessary... It is possible to install another custom Rom on my mobile phone, switching from one custom Rom to another? And my mobile is sim unlocked.
I've been trying launchers like Galaxy S but it is not the same effect as having the real operating system or could you help me finding some nice custom roms which are stable and supports my device?
Thank you for reading and you'll get a reward for helping me , but i would rather ask the experts in this field!
this is not possible. if you try it you will hard brick your device. You can only flash roms meant for your exact device. NO exceptions.
Thank you

[Completed] Finding and installing a supported ROM for Pantech Vega Iron IM-A870S

Hello everyone, im new to this forum and android in general so please pardon me if I sound like a total noob ::angel:
I have a rooted (through KingoRoot-kingoapp.com) Pantech Vega Iron IM-A870S and I want to remove the stock OS/ROM it came with and install a custom ROM. The problem is that my phone isn't very renowned so most famous custom ROM's like cyagenmod, paranoid android or xenonhd (I have my eye on this one ) don't have support for my device so I can't install those. The main reason for wanting to install a new custom ROM is to
1) Remove bloatware that comes with the stock ROM.
2) Improve performance and UI clutter through a lightweight/clean ROM (Emphasis on lightweight)
So can anyone of you bright folks help me find a custom ROM that supports my device and a detailed guide for it's installation/OR maybe porting xenonhd to my device?
Edit: Forum spam control won't let me post a pic of my phone's detailed specs :
Hi!
I cannot find any rims on xda for your device. There's a section for is here if you want to read up, http://forum.xda-developers.com/t/pantech-vega-iron
Otherwise you could try a Google search for Roms for your device.
Good luck!

Stock or custom

Guys should I be in stock rooted or advanced port ROM
For j7? Pls answer ASAP
Thanks👍
Custom rom
Simply cause it is fun and more features n goodies.
But if you only want to have as safe and secure standard device then use official.
But i guess not. Cause you are on xda ..hmmm
Good luck
