When I choose one video for playing in mx player , it plays all video files in that folder, until the last one. There is one option to change it, and play only the selected video?
Yes you can, it is something like
Settings>Player>Back to list.
Check that option!

I absolutely hate that the phone saves video's in ".mp4" and have some weird sort of "amr" audio codec involved? I can view these video's just fine on the phone, but if I pull them over to my computer, they play without sound. I have tried VLC, Quicktime, WMP, etc.
Now, I can rename the file extension to ".3gp" and it plays without any problems in Quicktime. But if I try to play it in VLC with the pre-defined extension, it says it doesn't have "SAMR" support, and only plays the video. I Googled it, found out all the reasons why (proprietary), and why it wouldn't ever be supported in VLC.
But is there any way to change the format the phone saves it in? It would be nice to able to send these video's from your phone to a friend and know that they could view it just fine.
I looked in Settings under the Camera....and nada.
Thanks!

From the video camera screen, go to Menu/Advanced/Capture Format and change it to H.263.
You are correct about changing the .mp4 extension to .3gp to allow it to play in Quicktime. But you should be able to play H.263 files on your computer without any changes.
I left mine in .mp4 and just downloaded the Klite codec pack, which lets you play .mp4 videos in classic win media on your laptop/PC. Works well on my laptop. Just make sure you choose custom install and deselect all the video options except for mp4 format. Otherwise it will conflict with other existing codecs such as divx.

Absolutely agree with Klite. All the time I install Windows,I don't use anything else than Klite codec pack in combination with very old(but really rocking) player ViPlay on all PCs/Ntbs in my surround. I can play almost everything without any problem.

Thank you, that worked. I had to actually make sure I was in video mode FIRST, then go to settings and the option to change the format was there.
Thank you!
And to others, I'm not complaining about not being able to watch the video on my own soo much...but I'd like to know that I could send the video out to friends and have a higher success rate in them being able to play the video.

Hi! I want HTC Video Player to be deault video player (instead of TCPMP) but I couldn't make it happen. I choosed it to be default in "open with" dialog in file explorer, but after that when I click on a video file nothing happens. Yesterday before I did this change, it could play some video files but now it doesn't. I like this tiny player, it looks handy to me. How can I make it play video files by default?
Open TCPMP. Options-Settings-Select Page-File Associations.
Remove ticks from videos you are interesting of.
I think I got it fixed, thanks Fighter. I'll have you a beer next time you're in Turkey .
I am using my Samsung Note 10.1 to watch lots of instructional videos; each course is composed of 10-40 video files, stored in folders, subfolders etc
I have tried bunch of video players; they all can play videos ok, but once the device is rebooted I have to do the whole process again (start video player, point it to certain folder, scroll through the files I have seen already etc)
Would anyone suggest an application which could start playing from the last position the player has been stopped at? (i.e. the player should remember it's "state" (playlist, position etc and being able to start playing right away)
As an alternative fix - would it be possible to switch my tablet into "deep-sleep" (hibernation?) mode so it could stay in such mode for a long long time without draining the battery and, once waken up, restore last work session)?
Have you tried MX Player? I don't have a Note 10.1, but I use MX Player on my Note 2 and it always resumes from where I left off no matter what.

how does it do it? As far as I can see, MX Player would higlite folder (and then file inside), but you will still have to navigate all the way to the file in order to start playing
is there a "resume play" button I have missed?
I probably don't really understand what you're asking.

I want video player app to recall exactly - which files it was playing the last time this app has been used - and start playing from the same spot
I want this to happen even after the tablet has been rebooted; I would start player, click "resume" button (or something like that) - and that's it
MX Player does give option in the video you last played of start over or resume after a reboot .
But the player will not open at the last played video after a reboot .
Neither am i aware of any player that does .

Hi,
When playing a video or audio file the following can be selected in the Play menu:
Loop one
Loop all
Shuffle
For playing audio there is one important option missing: "Loop all once". This would play all of the audio files in a folder and then stop after the last one. Right now I have it set to "Loop all" and this kind of works ok for audio, but I really don't want this for video. If someone sends me a video clip and I open with MX Player then this setting means the video will play on an infinite loop and it is very easy to home out and have it playing in the background running the battery down.
Also would be really great to be able to select which audio files to be played from a folder rather than just starting from the one that I select and playing sequentially down.

Not everybody will be always happy, this "loop all once" would be a good feature, but I never needed that, I dont even know an audio player with that option.
An editable playlist for audio files, this is good too but this is more a video player.
This feature could be taken to be added to feature request list.
If you long press on a folder and hit play, it will play all files in that folder.

while opening videos from gallery, the videos open in native video player instead of opening in mx player. i have mx player installed in my phone.
there is no option to configure the default setting.
please help.
if any body has any solution.
yup, same problem here, so i've just learned to live with the stock player lol
I think it's not possible to change this! Why I have no idea. There are volume problems with the default video player, as in it frequently starts loudest when the media volume is all the way down. Many times I've been in a quiet environment and boom it's loud and I have to scramble to turn it down manually. Also like the video to start fullscreen, which seems to me to be a sensible default behavior.

why don't you open the videos from dcim folder using es explorer or any other file browser?
Same issue with VLC.
any update ??
yeah i also facing the issue ,have you found the solution?
It's something Samsung have done, even if you use a package disabler to freeze the stock video player, it just complains that there are no apps installed able to play videos from the gallery even if MX Player is installed
Sucky move
I even denied permission for the stock video player it still plays the videos in gallery regardless. And you are forced to allow permission to the player to access the file.
If there was anyway we could disable the default video player we could replace it with mxplayer.
The default stock video player is stupid. When you change the brightness it also changes the brightness of the whole phone.
