Ihave had my GT-I9020T for a few months but in the last week i had problems with it foreclosing all my apps after i turned it off and back on and now i cant get my phone to unlock bootloader or factory reset at all. I have never unlocked bootloader or rooted my phone before on this phone because i got it with 4.0.3 OTA updated so really no need to root yet. I get this on recovery 3a when i try to factory reset/wipe, what does it mean?
Have you tried reset to factory/erase sd from phone menus ?
The best thing is to :
-unlock bootloader
-fastboot flash recovery cwm.img
do everything from there...(format,reset , etc..etc...)
The stock recovery is crap
Refer to the general section for more details
i already tried
I already tried to unlock bootloader but it wont do it because my phone wont let it factory wipe. i have tried to erase sd in main menus and it successful but factory reseting wont work and that is where the problem is.
Bump. I have this problem now too. Ever since I updated facebook my phone started force closing everything and I cant reset or unlock my bootloader again to wipe. Someone please help
I have a Motorola droid RAZR M and hard reset won't just work...
Why I wanted to do a hard reset is because when I download a game and tries to play it, it closes and gives me a feedback saying ”Real racing has closed unexpectedly", "GT racing 2 has closed unexpectedly", "Mortal kombat x had closed unexpectedly"... I've cleared cache files, uninstalled the games and reinstalled them but they just won't work, I've tried everything...
I have a locked bootloader
I don't think I've any recovery installed because when I try hard reset from settings, the phone goes off and takes me straight to recovery mode and I see this "failed to hab check for recovery"
I tried to install CWM recovery but won't workout because my bootloader is locked, I've tried unlocking bootloader but not working...
Can I install any other recovery when my bootloader is locked? Or is there any other way I can reset my phone without taking me to recovery?
usually unlocking the bootloader you have to wipe data giving you a factory reset to your phone (hard reset is not for smartphone but only for old phones) after witch you can simply relock the bootloader ad you should resolve your problem
when you have a locked bootloader you can't modify any part of the phone (bootloader, recovery, SO...)
I've done a factory reset on this device before and it worked... But this time I did a factory reset from settings>backup&rest>factory rest and it didn't work this time round, it took me to recovery when I have no recovery installed so it said "failed to hab check for recovery"

Hi, I have a very strange problem. My friend's gave his Huawei G610 to me and asked me to reset it to factory and wipe all the data. I simply went to recovery mode and selected Wipe data/factory reset and then wipe cache partition and finally rebooted it!
Instead of showing the first use screen (OOBE) I noticed that nothing had changed. Everything is as same as before factory reset. I tried reset factory from the setting menu and no change. I also uninstall a few apps and after a restart the apps got back :| I flashed stock rom using sp flash tool and no success. Please help me!
First of all i want to thank everyone that will try to help.
I have a problem with my Lenovo A680. I try to do factory reset through the recovery. First time i tried, i got an error message "Can not get phone encrypt state". After that i tryied to root with Kingo Root and everything went well. I rebooted the phone and root was gone. No application super user or something. Then i said i was going to do factory reset again. I went to recovery and presses yes to factory reset. It said all done and rebooted into system. There everything was as i had them before. All my apps installed and nothing changed. I even tried to use sp flash tools to download the official rom into my lenovo. Still nothing happends. Then i go for the format+download or firmware update. Nothing happends again. Tried to only format the device to see if i get into the system (and i guess i should not) and i boot into it. Please help me to restore it to factory settings....
P.S. the reason i wanted to factory reset is that sometimes it stuck sometimes on booting and sometimes on usage.
Hi everyone.
I've been trying to look for a solution for five days now, and I can't find anything over here (or maybe my search skills are bad?)
Anyways, I have a Mate 8 NXT-L29C185B580 with unlocked bootloader, TWRP installed and rooted, however FRP is locked since "Enable OEM unlock" is disabled. It so happened that I accidentally restored default settings in developer options, causing the switch to be disabled again and since it is greyed out I can't turn it back on.
From what I gathered here on XDA, to access this option again I need to relock bootloader, but to do that I need the stock recovery which I can't flash due to the FRP lock.
What I'm trying to do is to go back to full stock. I have the update.zip of B580. Dload fails, so does flashing through TWRP.
I'd appreciate it greatly if anyone can help me out, losing my mind over this, although I'm probably going at it the wrong way
Okay so the problem is solved.
Downloaded B560 using link from firmware finder (since downloading from app itself was problematic), booted into TWRP and performed factory reset + advanced wipe dalvik cache, cache, data and system and flashed the two .zips. Afterwards booted into stock recovery and performed factory reset from there since phone wasn't booting. Finally I re-locked bootloader using fastboot and thus was able to access oem unlock option again.
Posting this here incase anyone else gets stuck in a similar situation.
