Hey All:
I'm a newbie with smart watches and needed some help. I like the gear2 mainly because I can make calls on the watch unlike other smart watches. I have an LG G2 and I noticed a message in another thread saying that the method for connecting the gear 2 to non samsung phones no longer applies?
So my questions are:
Will I be able to connect my LG G2 running 4.4.2 to the Gear 2?
If so, does most of the functionality work?
Where can I find the new method to connect?
If the answer is no to the questions above, can someone suggest with smart watch I should get. Like I said, I love that you can make calls directly on it.

Hi I have the gear2 and lg g2 if you use tizen mod on the watch (google it) then you can connect to the lg g2 works great.I like it because I work third shift management and I can call the cops and take video and pics right from the watch. Im waiting for the guys to port android/android wear to the watch there making great progress. Hope that helped best of luck

Anyone have luck with using a gear s with a none Samsung phone? Or running android wear on a gear s??
Would love to get a non Samsung phone soon and still be able to use the watch. Pretty much only use the watch for GPS apps to run.

Like many, I left Samsung. I have been trying to pair my Gear 2 with my LG V10. I have my gear 2 with Tizenmod 3.0 but still cant figure it out. Any help would be awesome. I miss my watch.

Install Android Wear ROM on it along with the Android Wear synchronisation app from the Play Store.
Hi Guys,
Look for the Gear 2 to be my first ever smart watch, but just need with some simple questions answered, even after reading the forums, I'm not clear. Appreciate your help:
1. Is it true with the modded Tizen NE5, I can pair the Gear 2 with ANY Android phone beyond 4.4.2 like the LG V10 for example?
2. If Q # 1 is yes, can I use all features of the G2 like the IR Blaster, Camera, Cellular capability?
3. Last question, if I put Android Wear on it, I understand the Camera won't work? What else? The sound? Speaker and mic for calls?

Will there ever be an option to have 2 different phones paired? I have an iPhone from my work and an Android for my private live. I want to have them both paired (not at the same time)
If this option is never gonna be available, is it possible to script it (rooted)?

I want to buy another smartwatch to replace my good old Gear 2 and there is a lot of choice on the market now.
But if the S3 is able to pair to two phones (not at the same time obviously), the Gear S3 would become my favorite watch to buy.
So can anyone confirm if it works ?
I have an LG watch sport Android Wear 2.0 smart watch and whenever I pair it with my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus via Bluetooth the phone says that it is connected but I am unable to receive any notifications on my watch I also go look in the Android Wear application and it says that the watch is connected as well can any of you guys please help me with this problem thank you very much I appreciate it if there's any solution. I just got my phone 3 days ago and I love it but I also want to use my smart watch Bluetooth capabilities so that I can receive notifications while at work
Check if the Android Wear app on your S8+ has been granted access to the notifications.
Thank you very much I will get a check now and see. Is the Galaxy S8 able to use Android Wear on it because I know I had a Samsung Gear 2 that was only able to work on Samsung phones?
Yes android wear works fine with Samsung. I'm currently using the huawei watch 2 with no issues.
