My personal choices:
If you want in-ear earphones, I'd highly recommend the Skullcandy JIB Noise Isolating earphones ($5 to $10). Comfortable, amazing sound quality, and a great price. Just make sure not to get the Skullcandy Ink'd earphones instead - strangely, they have much, much worse sound than the JIBs.
If you want over-ear headphones, get the Sony MDR-ZX100 headphones (~$20). Surprisingly good sound quality for the price, a great, true one-size-fits-all band, and nicely-padded earpieces. Don't get Beats by Doctor Dre!

I'm using the Panasonic RP-HJE120E1K. They fits well and has a good sound (for my opinion).

Headphone Amp for S4 - required or not?

I ask as I used to use a Fiio E7 with my iPhone 4 before switching to my current S4 (the amp is now being used as my laptop DAC and with my iPod classic).
Was wondering with my S4, is a headphone amp needed?
Currently using Poweramp to listen to music and my listening gear consists mainly of closed back, wired headphones (e.g. Sennheiser Amperior, Ultrasone Edition 8s etc).
Thanks for any insight!

required? no.
will it make your music sound better? yes
The amp will make the sound louder and maybe will lower the quality. For better sound quality you will need an DAC.

pretty much all portable amps these days comes with a dac.
Headphone? No.
Earphones? Maybe.
I have the Sony XBA2 and it would start crackling at 10/15 volume when the bass hits. The FiiO E17 solved that.
This is the one you want...

[Q] Should i buy Studio Monitor Headphones for smartphone?

hello everyone guys,
im using galaxy s5 and Moto x 2014,
im music lover, i like to music only via phones.
currently i have sony 20$ earbuds, but i want a best sound,
then some one suggested me headphones like audio technica m50x and expensive headphones,
and some said that studio headphones have no use on mobiles,
is that true? how to get highest audio quality as possible with my phones? i know its also depends upon mobile but s5 and moto x2 have enough quality to deleiver enough high output,
so please suggest me, what should i buy or which headphones,
thanks

which is the best ear phones you used?

Tell me what ear plugs you guys use,
Suggest me some.
Does the quality of audio in ear plugs change of we use after flashing Dolby??.
Since you asked earbuds and not headphone
it is Creative EP-630 (deep base )
Brainwavz Proalpha - great detail, not huge beats, but detail on whole frequency scale.
Yes, with Dolby, it will change, it will sound more "amusingly", but sometimes will lack in detail. I recommend only PowerAmp(or noozy, Neutron) and V4A
PS: sorry for commenting on your post, I've clicked on different buttton.
im using iem ATH clr 100, with v4a preinstalled in my rom (miui polska)
its cheap but i really enjoyed the sound quality
I use the Edifier H180 earphones and a KZ ATE in ear monitor. Both are cheap and very good. I don't use Dolby or any other enhancements.
Cowon em1
i use beyerdinamic mmx102ie, not the best tho
but fairly enough. and i don't use enhancement
tried 215spe and feels better, but still just so so
i using iem over ear, basic ie200, good bass, good fitting, good price
no need sound mod anymore..
In my honest opinion, Sony XB50ap is the best earphone i ever heard. I tried many earphone/headphone, on each i could find few things which were not the best compared to sony XB50ap.
Not only it has excellent bass, its mid and high are clear and distinct, you could hear all the notes and different pitch clearly and uniquely.
It has best noise isolation, and the sound intensity is the best of non active earphone i ever heard. Meaning, you could set low playback volume you could still hear it loud and clear.
A perfect earphone.
I use ISO equalizer band on Winamp for testing with EQ, since its ISO band behavior on other devices/player is near equal.
But, the best combo was with MAXX audio mod for Lenovo K3 note, default dolby app was useless like most sound enhancing apps on phone.
Maxx audio with default equalizer, with bass and treble knob set at required level, give best sound experience. If only someone would work on maxx audio to make it work on Redmi 2.
PS: only negative, may be bit big on size and thus everyone may not like it. Cost i think is not bad considering quality and what you can get from other brand.

trust me dude, just get Sony XB50ap. You won't regret it. Make sure you buy it from authorized source and not some counterfeit item.
Using Panasonic HJE125s, really good earphones for cheap price
Sennheiser CX180 Street II, the music sounds good. I'm not an expert in music but if an earphone gives decent output, it's good enough for me
I was previously using stock Samsung headphones with my HM2014818.
With XTREMEMUSIC and V4A, it already sounded insane and one thing was clear to me that, the details of the sound being delivered, i.e. the highs mids and lows to be technical, are much of the concern of the underlying software itself, than good quality of headphones. Each headphone has atleast a good amount of frequency response which is enough to unleash the full power of the vibration being sent to it. If the vibration itself is dumped, no hardware can do enough.
I recently bought Sony MDR XB650BT, which sounds obviously slightly more dynamic due to its bigger drivers, gives deeper bass due to the XB, better fittings and all, but everything else is almost pretty same.
So my point is, before going to buy an extremely expensive hardware for listening to better music, make changes to the software itself. There are a whole bunch of soundmods available at XDA, try any or all of them(though my personal favorite has always been the XM, but that's part of another story ), and then decide.
I use Creative E600....whivh i consider the best budget earphone!
To me, Phillips is the best sound quality or Sony.
mi capsules are also good
sennheiser makes me comfortable with good ups, mid, and downs.
im using beats tour

I am using the audio technica ATH CLR 100 for more than 6 months now. Really nice pair of ear phones for the price. Even though the cable used looks and feels cheep, for my usage (Kinda rough) I've failed to damage it
Right now, using Cowon EM1 and AudioTechnica CKX7iS. Love the CKX7iS. Wasn't satisfied with the performance of EM1 initially, but I removed the filter and switched the buds with that of another old AudioTechnica's and bam, it's amazing now.
Used Dolby long back and didn't like it. The audio enhancements that come with stock MIUI works great. I've seen similar outputs only in Viper Audio, with some IRs.
Well i am on mi stock earphone mi in ear headphone pro gold that is quite costly but sounds good i mean great i can't even imagine like that one sound quality. It is very important to know sound quality before you buy any earphone or headphone

HTC A9 the King of Audio on smartphones

My background for Audio is Samsung P2-P3 and Cowon J3 as dedicated MP3 players, HTC M7,M8 and M9 as for smartphones.
Tested earphones are the stock bundled HTC iem, Hifiman RE-262 and RE-272
Tested BT are HTC Car Stereoclip and Sony SBH-50
The HTC bundled iem didn't sound well because the sound was somehow plasticky and cheap nothing to do with the bundled Beats earphones that were bundled with some old HTC phones, so I will focus on the Hifiman sound.
Hifiman RE-272 is a 20 Ohm pair of iem that normally need an additional AMP or DAC like a Fiio or HM801, but since the M8 HTC is integrating a professional DAC, the M9 and the A9 got a 24bit/192khz chip, though it looks like the A9 Amp is louder.
The HTC A9 has what is called Boomsound which will make the bass and mids better without getting muddy, this mode will also boost the overall loudness.
I tried the RE-272 on the LG G4 that has no Amp or DAC and the sound volume was low and without the crisp details the RE-272 should give, the HTC A9 is the total opposite!
Bass is deep and powerful even if these Hifiman were not known to be bassy, Bass even though high and deep will not overshadow on mids and treble.
Details are superbly present and crisp.
Soundstage is as wide as the RE-272 can go meaning very wide.
Mids and highs are pretty well balanced, they are well boosted without losing in quality.
Tested with Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Infected Mushrooms, some Trance tracks and the new album of Astrix He.Art.
Volume is pretty high,I like high volumes with Psytrance tunes but with the A9 + RE-272 I can't put them at max because they are too loud, but even at max sound is not distorded at all.
So these A9 can drive correctly a 20 Ohm RE-272 meaning they are perfect for all kinds of audiophile earphones.
Bluetooth:
The HTC A9 is capable of aptx + BT 4.1 like its predecessors M9 and M8 but the BT chip is now louder, paired with my HTC Car Stereoclip which are aptx and BT 4.0, sound never been so loud, bass so deep and details crystal clear, it even better when using V4A to boost even more the volume.
A9 vs M9: They probably share the same DAC but the Amp is different, the sound signature of the A9 is a bit more dynamic too, loudness is better.
A9 vs G4 As said before it's a whole universe of difference, sound is not only 3x louder but sound quality and details are way better than G4.
A9 vs Iphone 6+: My friend who has an iphone 6+ and I tested the difference between his phone and A9, the A9 wins with a slightly better audio quality and even a bit more loudness.
Well while waiting for the HTC M10 that would most probably use the same DAC/Amp the HTC A9 is undoubtedly the king of Audio on smartphones, and I recommend it highly for audiophiles.
I listen to a lot of music on my phone especially on headphones, I use poweramp but find I need to turn boomsound off for a better experience I have some Sony over ear headphones, my previous phone was a nexus 6p the sound was nowhere near as good as the A9, single biggest reason I'm a HTC fan from M7 on sound has been impressive...

Hard to say.... I don't have the 10 yet but I would guess it's damn near the same from the specs really. The HTC 10 is newer so it's better but not by a huge range is what I'm getting at lol. I could be wrong idk
Someone knows which Amp and Audio-Codec is used ?
HTC just says Hi-Fi HD Amp with 24bit/192khz and Dobly.
Samsung with the S7 and BQ with the Aquarius X5 Plus where more precise (Even if both are only able to play up to 96khz/24bit) both are using the Qualcomm WCD9335.
For the HTC 10 (I bet the A9 uses the same dedicated Stuff) , AndroidCentral used RMAA to test the Audio-Quality. :
http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-10-audio-testing-boomsound-evolved
I have to agree with this post. By a fair margin the A9 is louder while stunningly crisp even at full power with my Aiaiai TMA-2 Nextbit Robin editions. Better than every other device i've tried(20+).

Help me to buy an amp for my one plus6 .

Friends can u help me to select a good amp which cost not that much so that I can use my audio technica M50X to its full potential with my one plus6
Thanks in advance.
With the 38 ohm the op should be able to play them loud enough :s
The amp should be loud enough, but maybe you're looking for an amp +DAC (digital audio converter) combo? I'd argue a dedicated DAC would give a slightly better audio experience. Are you using any rooted audio modules like Viper4Android?
I believe Fiio makes a wide range of mobile amp + DAC devices you can take a look at
Thanks brother but I don't want to root my phone and yup m50x are loud but I want best quality from them so suggest dac or amp if specific one them tell me thanks in advance
